Yes it is the Duck dynasty family. Darius is great, country music is simply story telling, knows no skin tone, male and female. You've got Country Blues, Country Pop, Country Rock, Country Hick Hop (Rap), songs that are crying in your beer sad, dancing and celebrating, telling your story about whatever. The legend Charlie Pride is a a must for Black Country artists, there are also 3 black women that are a fairly new country group “chapel hart” they are super sweet and talented brother ❤️

Darius has a very, very, good country-genre voice. Sounds great live, and then when he mixes in his H&TB hits it just gets the crowd going in a ridiculous fashion. He used to be in a rock band named "Hootie and the Blowfish" which were popular late 80s early 90s. I saw him perform this live a few years ago. He's great. This is probably one of his best songs. Extremely catchy!
Charley Pride is an absolute legend in country music and really the first black man to be a true country star. We won the CMA Entertainer of the Year award in 1971 and has dozen of country hits to choose from. Darius is also talented and can perform in so many genres but thankfully has been treating the country fans for many years now.
Jimmie Allen and Coffey Anderson are some good country singers to react to.

When I worked at the Nursing Home this song came on in the lounge on the tv where residents hung out between meals and other engagements and they loved it. A lot of them were singing along and it was a really memorable experience.

Charlie Pride was the first famous black country singer, many, many years ago. Darius was lead singer for Hootie & the blowfish for many years & is now a solo artist. Check out his tune 'Alright', 'Comeback song', 'It won't be like this for long' or 'Don't think I don't think about it', too. Darius has several great country hits. There are definitely more singers of color now. Check out Kane Brown. He is mixed & super talented newer young country artist. My favorite songs by Kane are 'Heaven' & 'Homesick;' which are slower tunes but he has some fun ones too, like 'One Mississippi'.
This is hilarious, fun, and fabulous seeing all sorts of people jamming to country bluegrass. And the shock on people's faces seeing that Darius is an AA. I love it. Come together people!

I want to meet Darius Rucker. I grew up during Hootie and the Blowfish's popularity but I didn't listen to them much because I was more into country music and 80's rock. But when Darius started doing country music I just loved him. He is one of my favorite country artists of all time.

If you watch Ken Burns " History of Country Music, he has an early part about the contribution of Black ( early artist) to country & western music. Many came from the hills of NC & Tennessee. Sadly, racism prevented them from getting the acclaim. Many have acknowledged the roots of Gospel, Folk and Blues to Country Music.
Ken Burns did a great job telling the story. Morden Day Country has made strives to embrace Black Artist today.

Kane Brown is another huge black country artist. There are a few others and more are stepping into the genre. Chapel Hart are 3 black women(2 sisters and a cousin) I really think you would enjoy. They are country. They do an original song based off Dolly Pardon's Jolene called You Can Have Him Jolene. Dolly loved it

I recommend Charlie Pride. He showed up at the Grand Ole Opry. It was back in the radio days. No one knew he was black. The curtains opened he sang. He was the first black singer at the Grand Ole Opry and they didn’t care.

Besides Darius Rucker and the late great Charley Pride, there were many other African American country singers - Ray Charles (yes, he recorded a lot of country music in his own style), Stoney Edwards, "Big" Al Downing, Linda Martell, O.B. McClinton, Dr. Cleve Francis, etc...... they're all worth checking out.
Check out Charlie Pride. A black guy who was one of the most popular country singers of all time. Back in the 60s and 70s it seemed like 20% of all the songs on the radio were Charlie Pride songs. Granted, some of those songs were songs first done by someone else, but he put his stamp on them. And often his version was better than the originals.
Tony Jackson would blow you away too. That Brother can sing. Pure ole school country, not the pop type of today.

I actually seen Darius in concert but it was HOOTIE AND THE BLOW FISH at the time. And it was outside by he water in Hampton, Virginia of like maybe 100 people..I sat on the grass and the band was maybe 50 feet from me?..Darius Rucker is a cool guy.

Here's another country music artist "Charlie Pride - Kiss An Angel Good Morning (Live)" his greatest musical success came in the early to mid 1970's, when he was the best-selling performer for RCA Records since Elvis Presley, he also earned his place in the Country Music Hall of Fame. However, Charlie Pride was also a professional baseball player, before he broke into Nashville stardom, he was a pitcher for the Memphis Red Sox and Birmingham Barons of the Negro League playing from 1953--1958 My mom and dad had a steady stream of his records along with their other favorite artists playing on the console all the time, lol he was a character🤠🪕😉🔥💖🎶

My Grandma loved Charlie Pride! To this day i still listen to his music from time to time.She use to play Charlies music on a 8 track player she had.I can still rember how big the tapes were.im not sure if yur familiar with the ole 8 track!...lol

There is a dearth of Black country artists. I don't know if Black singers aren't interested in the genre or if cowardly music labels aren't interested in anything different. I can say, however, that country FANS are interested in good music, whoever is singing it and would love to see more artists of color. I loved Darius Rucker's voice when he was with Hootie and the Blowfish and I love it now. His country songs are great.
