So rare to see clips of Steve Augeri. I saw his as the Journey lead in one concert. We were in disbelief as he high belted one Journey song after another for close to 2 hours without a break. You can't imagine the toll that takes on a singer's voice. No wonder Steve lasted with the group only a year or two. Jeff Scott Soto was another great, albeit brief, front man. There is a one clip of Jeff on RUclips singing part of this song - all great stuff!
haha, no.. he didn't hear Steve Perry. It was this man you see in this video, Steve Augeri, who replaced Perry in 1998. Perry has been out of the public eye since 1997. Steve Augeri had to step down after a throat infection in 2006. So who your buddy saw was Augeri, not Perry.
