First video for me. I’ll be watching from here on out. I’ve been wanting to learn fiberglass and carbon fiber for an upcoming RUclips project so this hit the spot. I dig your style! Keep it up, Brother!
Your attention to details are amazing.
Very cool to see how your ideas are progressing and using different materials to bring your vision to life! Keep up the great work, looks awesome!
Sweeeet build process... taking ur skills up a notch each time u post a video. I like how ur practically critical and realistic with expectations considering resources and time available
Really cool seeing your carbon work. Nobody else I watch is doing stuff like this and putting so much detail into their builds
Your attention to details are amazing. I've been building and playing with trucks my whole life and I appreciate the work you put into these builds.
A vacuum bag would help your surface finish and reduce your post processing time, but they still turned out decent without.
I made this same suggestion last video. Seems like the move
Yup. That and a heat gun.
Enjoying your content. Have been wondering about the engine too! Thought about how it’s going and would like, if even, just a few quick sentences about it during your other projects.
This is the best not a how to but still a how to video series ever.
When I worked at a fiberglass shop, we used tooling gelcoat to start the molds, usually 2-3 coats so you had some substance to sand/wet sand/polish after separating off the master.
Austin, I am loving this build! I have an old Mazda B2000 and this is giving me so many ideas!!! Thank you!
Damn bro you killed that project! I'm sure it's there's some pressure tackling new things with all these people watching! Killer bro
It would be cool if you could see when people hit the like button. For this one, I did it when you were screwing down the carbon pieces on the passenger door, 15:45.
These carbon fiber pieces came out so good bro awesome work. Kinda makes u wanna redo the radio carbon fiber piece since there is a lot of fish eyes
Have you tried using a roller for molds? When I did fiberglass for yacht hulls we always used roller to get out bubbles. That then vacuum bag for part. Also black hole down screws would look cleaner.
Hey Austin I've been a subscriber for a few months now, I've followed the build from the beginning and you're doing a great job man. I'm also a toyota guy and have had many Tundra's and tacoma's. I think you're getting better at the carbon fiber, keep it up. I'm also looking for a project, we'll see. Anyway great show. 👍
to fix those voids and improve the corners vacuum bag it and use some peel ply. a harbor freight vacuum pump, painters plastic, duct tape and a sheet of sheet metal for the base is great for this. you just lay up your mold, lay down the peel ply, then put it all on top of the metal sheet, then tape down a sheet of plastic over the whole thing and vacuum it down. for your smaller parts, a vacuum sealer for food works too! The peel ply pulls away the excess resin, then the vacuum form pushes the fiber into all the corners and cracks. that will fix your voids and make much stronger parts too. if there is too much resin then as you stress the parts the resin cracks, and the two sides of the crack act like scissors and cut the carbon fibers. Not really an issue for parts that are mainly cosmetic, but it still helps improve the look.
Also, idk if you have seen this stuff, but that little cover would have been an excellent candidate for forged carbon fiber. Its just chopped tow carbon that is pressed into the mold and cured under pressure from a vice or clamps. it works great! Check it out.
Carbon fibre looking good just one suggestion maybe consider black screws for the carbon sill strips and the fuse box cover...other than that epic my man👍👍👍
Most people wouldn't know where to start on most projects Austin does. You could give him a gum wrapper,a match stick & a lighter and he could probably send a Bud bottle around the moon twice.😆
I thought this was gonna just be a simple build bit this is amazing and so different from the earlier content of making custom bumpers. This truck is gonna look so good when it's done.
Love the carbon work such an inspiration 👍💯
Honestly, I would give it a good hour stare for the details put to build this. Looks luxury..
I feel you on these... I've got some vids on my channel about making fiberglass molds for parts... it's a challenge. Nice work though!
To get the best carbon fiber results a vuccum bagg, a low heat oven and minimal resin application is the way to go. Thats what they told me in aerospace school at least.
This is next level, man! Amazing work as usual...those sill plates really set off the interior nicely. Crazy how good you've gotten at this in such a short time.
Thanks a ton! Practice makes better haha
I’m blown away those door sills came out amazing WOW
Much better!!! Finally making negative molds! Although you started on a pretty tough one, difficult to remove the original piece when it's surrounded on 5 sides. Now the next step is to get yourself some vacuum bagging supplies. That will take care of your air bubbles and getting the cloth deep into the tight corners. I do have to say it again though...with all the restomodding on the interior you should just repaint the exterior of the truck. The current exterior, while cool, would go better with a more sympathetic resto like Mexican blankets over the seats.
Mexican blankets over the seats how dare you.
Nothing wrong with a Mexican blanket interior on the right build, like a rat rod or something. Just needs to be a cohesive design.
This thing is turning out amazing. That new epoxy looks so much better
Practice makes perfect! Nice job on the CF!
You've got it down now; the sill plates look great.
Wow you really out did yourself with that carbon love it great job
Parts look so dope dude, nice work! Have you test fit a door to make sure the carbon sills clear? Just a thought, would suck to see them get banged up. Great vid once again, love the content man. 👌🏼
Trims look killer!
Beautiful work!!
you were reading my mind. I was thinking about using the CF panel you cut out for the radio for labeling the HVAC, hand painted or label. Great work Austin
Nice work 👌
Great from Egypt 🇪🇬❤️
Your progres on Carbon fiber is good, go on, and make other interior details from Carbon also.
Your Carbon Fiber skills have improved. Curious to see what type of door panels you go with.
Nice work you getting pretty good at that carbon work!!
Looking this man! Keep to see how it holds up from foot steps etc.
Some nice hex head screws will finish off those panels really nice!
Excelente video bendiciones me gustan porque es paso por paso la restauración de la guagua 👌👌👌
ok congratulations very good job greetings here watching your videos you will be a million 👍👍🤠
Have you ever thought about 3D printing your molds? Could be really helpful. There are materials that you can print with that dissolve in water as well which could help with some the intricate parts so you don’t have to cut them out or anything like that. I do a ton of printing and some cad design and could talk to you about the potential of this if you would like to.
You make a great Carbon Job. Please make the Wheelcover in Carbon!
Turned out looking amazing! Considering remaking the carbon holder innside the dash?
Carbon fiber work has come a long way in a short time. Great watching your vid as usual.
Thank you!!
Hi Austin what intake manifold did you use on the 2.0 tdi BHW Tacoma ?
You need to vacuum bag the carbon fiber is the only way to get the air pockets out and make it look right and it actually adds strength because there are no air pockets in between the layers or anything like that
Wow....... I’m so impressed with your dedication. I got tired just watching lol
That’s looking really really good.
برنامج رائع جميل جدا استمر 🌺🛠🇮🇶
Well done! Looks amazing! 👏🏼🔥
WOW you're getting pretty good at this stuff
Looks great man. Thanks for the great videos.
Black hardware for your kick panel would complement the carbon fiber imo. Well done
Awesome job on the carbon fiber pieces I love the way they turned out♥️🤯👍🏽😊🤙🏽
Those carbon fibre parts are awesome.
There are some pretty cool boat re-fit channels that may give you some ideas/inspiration. Lots of tips and techniques for glass work. Check out The Duracell Project. Great work man.
Lots of patients. Looks great man
He's not a Doctor....! 😳😆👍🏻
Awesome stuff mate keep it up
Man those carbon pieces are looking cherry! Keep it up man!
Enough an beautifull job!
Looks awesome
It's already looking realy good.
Those door sills came out sic! Looks like that new resin got completely rid of your fisheye problem. Next up Carbon door panels? lol
I am curious as to the Engine/Gearbox combo build or is it going to be an LS1/ 4l60e setup???
Came out great.
Another awesome job!
Well Done Austin
Looks really good. You gonna make a carbon fiber cab vent?
Man that looks great
Nice work
Very good, you are an artist

Are we painting this thing white again? White raptor liner could be cool
Using compressed air sometimes blows the pieces out of the moulds
Your follower from Saudi Arabia
This time is very beautiful
Welcome back bro
Should have painted the screws black! ;D
Another great episode
Get a job scammer
Dang man is there anything you can’t do. The build is looking fantastic, so… when do I drop my original owner 86 4Runner off😂
wow, that,s ready good👍🤏
You da man. Looks nice. Great vid.
highly recommend a heat gun - either after you laminate or even just applying a coat [when wet!] - bubbles disappear like magic -
Just sayin
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽 looks really nice
cool 👏👏👏💎💎💎
I think I forsee a steering column cowl made of carbon fiber
So excited!
black screws would look better.
😲
🤘🤘👏👏👏🤘🤘great job!!
Dude where did you get that trim?!?!?!?
