- A performance of "Poor Man Lazarusl" (Hairston) by the Goshen College Men's Chorus (Scott Hochstetler, conductor) during the 2012 ACDA Central Division Conference in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
For high school aged they are doing a darn good job--- I believe they could perform Schubert Leider and shine
Beautiful yes; technically excellent, yes; did anyone forget this is a spiritual? Where is the soul?
tempo - 108 in cut time. That's the way Hairston wrote it.
the conductor isnt even doing anything progressive
You mean progressive like not keeping control of a song that singers love to sing faster and faster? The directors work was done in rehearsal.
Progressive as in not using appropriate animation with his conducting in order to correspond with the dynamics.
High school choir memories!!!!!!!!
Wonderfully done!!
We sang this in youth choir when I was in Jr. High. My friend and I thought it would be a good idea to do hand motions a long with the song so we did and started laughing so hard that we couldn't sing. We got kicked out of youth choir. Good times.... Lol!
