    Awesome car. I was at Le Mans when this car ran. I have the rare nitro version in my collection as well as the electric one.

      Wow... had no idea they made a nitro version of this. Interesting. I'm not really into Nitro but thats pretty cool and the fact you were at Le Mans and saw this Porsche run is super cool. Must have been quite the experience.

      @@RCRetro it was a great experiance. My first year at Le Mans the mighty 787B won and i will never forget that. Ive been almosy every year since and my RC collection plus static models is dominated my Le Mans Cars.

    😮 stunning job, you smashed that right out the park. As soon as i seen the sticker sheet when you moved the camera to show them all. I was out 😂 i would be pulling my hair out trying to sticker that 😂

    Hardest part of some Tamiya kits are those sticker sheets. great job dude.

    Looks amazing. I usually don’t like doing box art, but I love doing these Tamiya cars with the insane amount of *decals* ;) Such a daunting task, but it’s like meditation. HOWEVER, I thought you were one of the sane ones, Ari, but seeing that you cut out the decals with scissors, I don’t know man.
    I think with the white it’s no problem, but I like to prime the ABS, a coat of PS-1, then use the same PS-whatever as on the body, then decals, then clear gloss over all of it. That way I know the color matches.
    I’ve got a TA-03RS Porsche inbound, but I wish it had been this Porsche. Great kit.

      Thanks for the comment. I always use scissors. I've tried once or twice using a hobby knife and didn't like it. I purchased a really expensive scissor ... (Brand escapes me at the moment) but its like cutting with 2 razor blades. I love this Porsche and would love to add another Porsche TA-03RS but they seem a little hard to find now and on the pricey side. I'm assuming you got yours from overseas?

    You can always go back over with a craft knife and cut out the clear decal in between patterns now it’s in place and lined up

    It looks amazing and you did a fantastic job on the stickers! I can only imagine the difficulty level of all that. I have done some tedious ones and some elaborate ones but this beats them by far on the PITA level! LOL!! Great work Ari and it is going to look amazing in the cabinet on display!

      Thanks Adam. Right now its sitting on my dining room table upstairs from the disaster that is my basement lol.. Every few days when I go into my house it makes me smile when I see it. Just so darn cool looking. Yes no real progress with my house other than I'm not staying with family anymore and now I'm staying at a luxury apartment complex. Kids are super happy... they each have queens size beds, big tv's in their rooms, pool and there is a gym in the club house.. I'm kinda digging this type of lifestyle lol... Thanks for the comment.

      @@RCRetro sorry to hear the house repairs haven't made any progress, that is a big pain. I am glad you have gotten moved into the temporary accommodations and it is nice. Good to know they didn't try and stuff you all into a holiday inn or something!

    Great job! It turned out fantastic.
    My first ever Tamiya build was this kit with the GT1 Street. The stickers on the hood scoops, the roof scoop, the rear … daunting for a first kit. Then I added LED to the mirrors for a Medic/Doctor look.
    Great job and agree it’s an amazing model.

    • @RCRetro
      @RCRetro  5 месяцев назад +1

      I don't believe so. I was thinking the same thing when I was taking pictures of this and started to wonder that myself. I compared all the widths of the wheels and tires... I guess I'll have to double check the manual and look more closely at the inside of the wheel.. Now I'm second guessing myself lol...

      @@RCRetro lol yeah some reason it appears the right side wheel looks a little deeper offset than the left . Anyway I love the channel and keep the great vintage content coming ! I’m a 80’s kid and worked part time in a hobby shop in the mid 90’s .

    Tamiya did re-release this car a few years ago. However, it did not have the "Mobil" stickers. It was just supposed to be white. Which I think it looks good in just white. Now, the re-release kit is hard to get too. When I bought the re-release kit I also started buying all of the after market parts. At first they were easy to get. I got shocks, anti-roll bars, better belt tensioners. Now ,it is hard to find the after market parts as well. Thoughts?

    • @RCRetro
      @RCRetro  5 месяцев назад

      Totally agree. Initially I wanted the re-release but couldn't find them here in the states. Plus they were already a bit on the pricey side and with the shipping from overseas it was almost as expensive as this one with the MOBIL Livery that someone was selling. So we know how this story ended lol.... Hope you find one soon.

      @@RCRetro I got the re-release kit which is the one that I like. Maybe MCI makes the mobil decals if I wanted to go that route. Thoughts?

    You know that they made this one again but without all the decals call the street version.

    • @RCRetro
      @RCRetro  5 месяцев назад

      Yes I originally wanted that one but couldn't find one here in the States. They are a bit on the pricey side already and with the shipping from overseas it just didn't add up for me. Some time went buy and I knew this original with the Mobil Livery was for sale. So I just debated for a while and then finally pulled the trigger. It wasn't much more than the release TBH..
