Can't even get an oil change this fast in my area.. Absolutely amazing teamwork, show of knowledge, organized chaos, and adaptability.. Incredible, definitely deserve a standing ovation 💪👏
You should be doing your own oil changes any how. Shops do them too fast. It's best to let your oil drain for at least an hour to ensure you get all the old oil, and the dirt floating in it, out.
@@typhoon1575 This is a total myth in case anyone is reading this. To see why just go read the service manual for your vehicle. The quantity specified for an oil change is significantly lower then that for a new empty motor. It doesn't matter HOW long you gravity drain it, there are places within the sump and passages that will never drain out. The two extra ounces that might drip out in the five hours following the first five minutes are a literal drop in the bucket compared to the quart+ that will NEVER come out of the engine in a normal oil change. All oil changes are merely mixing a small quantity of old oil with a larger volume of new. If you do them routinely as you should you will eventually turn over the entire contents, but any single change will never do so. If you're going to do your own oil don't waste your time, give it five to ten minutes and then button it up any longer makes fuck all difference.
From roughly 1:10 to about 1:50 they gathered around the rear damage and discussed/game planned. From that point on it was just top notch thrashing. Beautiful
No, they did not. The obvious higher ups wanted to feel important, and they discussed it. The mechanics themselves went straight to work. The mechanics did not discuss anything. There wasn't anything to discuss. The mechanics did not get or take any advice from the pencil pushers. They did not get a game plan from them. Did you watch the same video that I did? These professionals don't need to come up with a game plan. They already have one. They practice every possible scenario imaginable. They already knew what they would do if the car broke or crashed in any way.
Kinda a dream job for a mechanic. High pressure but you can't beat that parts delivery time - they've got everything they need, right there on hand and it doesn't matter how it looks, so long as it works. No rust, no seized bolts, no bullshit - just everything set up just right so you can get the job done. You're allowed to use a big hammer too.
Normal world Driver: I wrecked my car Mechanic: looks bad you need to buy a new car Rally world Driver: i wracked my car Mechanic: no problem give us 30min and we'll fix it
It is more impressive than the formula 1 pit stop, I am a mechanic and I can say that when we already have in mind what we need to do it is much easier than an unexpected service like that
they call it dry work in my place, it's basicaly tasking work, every day you have a specific task you need to finish each day, either you finish it too early or took you so much time, you can then go home. usually construction workers take this kind of jobs more often.
F1: * _loses a tiny piece off the front wing_ * welp time to forfeit :( Rally: * _car literally falling apart_ * get me mallet, we'll have 'er runnin' again in two shakes.
From a puzzle, some people turn it into a solution. All the professionalism and know-how of a group of guys passionate about what they do. Everyone knows what they have to do by giving the best of themselves. That's what a team is all about. Hats off to these guys for their work, it's you who deserves the praise 🏆🏆🏆🏆
The trick is to have lots of 10mm sockets. They'll all disappear eventually along with the 12's, the 14s and the 17s but if you've got a supply you can at least have them scattered all over the place.
Haha, when you watch F1 and are impressed about the mechanics switching tyres in two seconds. And then you watch rally mechanics rebuilding a car in 30 minutes. o.o
@@zXPooleYXz It's apples and oranges. But there are some fun cases like Verstappen's Crash in Hungary in 2020 where they fixed the front suspension in ~20 minutes. ruclips.net/video/IGwm1QmwN9s/видео.html Difference being that in rally, you expect the cars to crash. In F1, often enough you might expect tyres to get shredded and front wings to break. (Which is why they have bacup front wing sections ready to go and attached within seconds). But if anything more major breaks, it's a serious process to fix it. And if it's in the race and the driver makes it into the pits, often enough it's game over anyway.
That was unreal. Nevermind having the money to do it, imaging just trying to find those guys to even hire in the first place. They should feel so blessed.
They are mechanics for Citroën for a long time before joining the rally team staff and they are the best from France where you can easily learn mechanic at school
Im not into car racing (till this day) but as a business owner I'm literally crying to see how beautiful this is. The team (walking even talking to each others almost) are coordinated on a level I have never seen. Every single person so dedicated at what they did. This is art! And the driver just walking off the car like he just cameback from getting his grocery is hilarious 🤣
It’s called getting the right team for the job to be done, pretty sure they was arguing but they pulled together. I as a business owner myself find it easier to let workers do what they need to do without me lurking over their shoulders micromanaging them and the work. They prefer it that way as they don’t go into panic mode because the boss is about haha.
As a worker, good training, management and salary makes it a lot easier to focus on the job to be done instead of having to worry about the rest of the team messing up, not being listened to, being micromanaged or not being able to pay bills.
Kudos for knowing the correct spelling of duck tape, which is derrived from the dutch word 'duck' for 'fabric' and not from the ductwork it often keeps together.
Based on some Citroen’s I’ve driven; That car could have just arrived new off the production line. The guys are just the quality control team giving it a once over!
Yeah that’s the problem with french car makers they have some incredibly good and reliable fars but also as many junk ones. Although it’s best taking a stick shift if you look into older models (no one wanted automatic in eu so they got on it late and the first models are understandably not so good)
Reminds me when I attended Rally Australia at Perth in the mid 1990's, with the service centre set up in the local football oval or showground. I also attended pre-rally scrutineering - as well as the cars, all of the spares have to pass technical inspection. I remember mechanics pulling multiple suspension units, turbo units and god knows what else out of the Subaru 555 service van to get the OK. You then realise the logistics required to run a multi-car team in a WRC event.
back then service teams had to travel alot in service car from a place to another because you could repair your car pretty much everywhere, usually on side of a public road. My father was in rally service team in 90s and he told me how the tools were flying in the van because they were always in a hurry.
I entered Rallies in Western Australia during the late 1960's and we didn't have any support whatsoever. Just the usual tools from our shed, a spare tyre and cross your fingers 😀. We rallied in a Standard Vanguard, built like a tank, with an engine similar to the Ferguson tractor 🚜 and a Borg Warner Overdrive.
interesting to see what is going on in the background of a really. teamwork. wrc should do more videos like that. it shows the whole picture of a rally

@@typhoon1575
This is a total myth in case anyone is reading this.

Usually it takes 10minute to find 10mm socket
Why is the 10mm one the one that’s missing.
The trick is to have lots of 10mm sockets. They'll all disappear eventually along with the 12's, the 14s and the 17s but if you've got a supply you can at least have them scattered all over the place.

@@zXPooleYXz It's apples and oranges.
But there are some fun cases like Verstappen's Crash in Hungary in 2020 where they fixed the front suspension in ~20 minutes.
ruclips.net/video/IGwm1QmwN9s/видео.html
Difference being that in rally, you expect the cars to crash.

Sonner or later, a complicated and technical rebuild comes down to a sledgehammer and duck tape!
Amazing pit crew indeed, cool stuff!
Sledgehammers and gaffer tape fix any ailments
Maybe add ratchet straps and zip ties and you're all set
Kudos for knowing the correct spelling of duck tape, which is derrived from the dutch word 'duck' for 'fabric' and not from the ductwork it often keeps together.

Graham thanks for sharing nice story :) Yes, motorsport is very complex..
@@OdcinekSpecjalny And very expensive,right?
back then service teams had to travel alot in service car from a place to another because you could repair your car pretty much everywhere, usually on side of a public road.
