🇳🇮 BOAT TOUR & HIKE: Reserva Biológica Indio Maiz Biological Reserve {Travel El Castillo, NICARAGUA}

Along the isolated Río San Juan, boat rides offer an intimate perspective of the Indio Maiz Biological Reserve.
In rural southeast Nicaragua, departing from El Castillo, guided tours showcase the diversity of tropical flora and fauna. Birds flock within the dense canopy of thick jungle vegetation while animals abound along the land, sea and water of this protected habitat.
The river also serves as a quirky border between Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Dating back over 150 years, the waterway is solely Nicaraguan property as it abuts against isolated Costa Rican territory.
The full-day tour explores Indio Maiz from the boat and along an extensive path through the forest. Bring boots though, the track is muddy!
