Live in Townsville NQ where the Ross River is. Caught it at the peak of my training 2012 and at the start of a career change. Couldn’t pull up my pants going to the loo, but pushed through not knowing I had it.
So much pain, you think it will never leave … hang in there, takes time but the insane pain will go.

Oh no! My husband got bitten when he was little with ross river. We are super cautious with our girls. Evil mozzies. So sorry to hear. I believe you will make a full recovery with especially with the good food, sunshine and any movement you can do. No other tips, hopefully someone (like a naturopath) can help more!! ❤

Live in northern Rivers and mozzies been crazy. I had Ross River a few years back. I only found out after blood test after donating blood. It's different for everyone. Rest up
Rules are rules 🤷 3 years is a good meaningful time 100% stops athletes from moving to a easier region

It's unfortunate that the Torian individual women will be missing so many high quality athletes. If Tia-Clair Toomey, Kara Saunders, Jamie Simmonds, Emily De Rooy finished as the top 4 at Torian it wouldn't be a surprise but none of them are in it.

They could change the eligiility rule to match the age group rule, i.e. the age you will be at the games if you compete and not when you sign up for the open is taken in to account for your age group, could work the same for residency. Not sure if that makes sense.

Thanks for explaining that. It’s pretty straight fwd from what you’re saying. Fair is fair even when it’s frustrating. With regard to the Roman thing, I think that is also fair given based on his circumstances and the country he has come from being very hostile at the moment.
Never got Ross River Fever but have been told that large doses of vitamin c and keeping up the fish oil can potentially shorten it. Bless ya mate!

Question should be, what was the rule last year? Is this 3yr requirement new? If yes, do you blame anyone being mad about it?
How does this compare to Roman? Has he been in the US for the 3 year timeframe? I recall him not being able to compete at the Games due to visa issues recently - so if this is the case, how has he received an exemption? I only want to rules to be applied fairly to everyone.
Regarding Ellie's case vs Roman... I don't know the finer details but perhaps it's something to do with the type of visa they have to be here? Does Ellie have a temporary / work visa? Or does she want to become a citizen? I could be wrong but I thought Roman got a green card, permanent resident, and hopes to become an American citizen. Maybe that's the difference.
I don't know that Tia is the correct comparison. Has Roman been in the US for three years? I understand he has other concerns, but he has also left the US a few times to compete, so as long as the competition isn't in Russia (which it isn't), why is he exempted?
Justin seemed like a child during the presentation of 24.2 besides that Wrestler 😃 I assume he's fairly popular amongst wrestling fans !
Hey Wykie Sir, don't know anything about that virus, can only send you good vibes and maybe you could add a daily Wim Hoff approach to your recovery, not aonly the cold exposure : the breathing part of it. You might already do you, anyway, it's so efficient to further stimulate our immune system.

Big wrestling fan and big fan of Seth Rollins. I understand people want a bigger celebrity doing the Open announcement but people have to realize the dude LOVESSSSS CrossFit.
He’s not doing it for money or exposure, he’s clearly doing it because he’s a massive fan of the sport & methodology.
And I don’t know any “bigger” celebrities that are die hard Crossfitters like him.
His real name is Colby Lopez, I think he said it’s his 12th Open and if you saw the WWE’s work/travel schedule you’d realize how impressive that is.

Wykie! Love your work. No word of a lie, I've heard a small electric shock, like an electric fence, has helped people with RRV. Works for some and not others but it's not going to make it worse to try.

Think the rule seems fair …. Little bit like sport where you can represent another country after the 3 year stand down. The upside is it gives another female an opportunity since there’s also of talented ladies ❤

Seth “Freaking” Rollins was huge in Perth for the WWE event a few weeks ago. My kids love him and he’s entertaining but a bit of a weird choice.

I don't get why everyone is so upset, she hasn't lived in the USA for 3 years. That's the rule.
I’m far more annoyed that they gave Roman an exception but not Ellie. He moved here a year after Ellie did. They need to be consistent.
