- Mat and Katrin have a lot of great history. They were friends and training partners back in the early days of Mat's career. They shared victories on the Games floor in 2016 and have remained friends over the years even as training plans evolved. Now, Mat sits in Katrin's corner as Coach and Katrin has joined the HWPO Training team as a HARD WORKER. Katrin’s positivity is endearing and draws all of us in. Truly an ambassador of not just a sport but an ambassador for what we should all try to be. Thanks for bringing in the light Katrin.

Not gonna lie. Katrin is my favorite crossfit athlete. I'm always on repeat watching such events where she won Like Fibonacchi, Chaos, Handtand walk, Ringer, ranch loop, etc.
Katrin is truly a remarkable human being. I am confident that her future will be beyond her own and everyone's ability to imagine.

I would LOVE to see Mat talk with more CrossFit games athletes like this even if they aren’t a part of HWPO. Like Brent, Pat, BKG, Annie or Sara!

I started studying medicine when I was 32 and I never regretted it for one second. I wouldn’t let age dictate that decision, if it’s something you really want. I highly doubt Katrin will read this, but maybe someone, who thinks they are to old for something, is. There are definitely things you can’t be as good at un your 30s than in your 20s. But something like studying medicine… there it’s just a cultural thing and nothing that should hold one back if they really want to do it. :)
I have no one around me that even remotely of a similar heart or mindset. And they actually feel like nemesis. I have disheartened greatly because it makes my efforts actually wasted. Now I have to adapt to these conditions. Because I know it is worth it when I see people like these two and the many others pushing this life. In a different world, where I am. Good, cuz I do not want to stay here.

Hello, what are your impressions of the start of the crossfit games?

Well I don't understand one thing here. Ok Ben Bergeron is "competiton" now (???). Mat don't talk about the importance he had on his mental game (which was a real problem for him - his words). Ok it was not a long time, etc, etc. But Katrin, my god! She tells her story and also don't mention him! She was living for years with the Bergerons! She always recognized his importance. Before the rope thing tha happened to her in Regionals, he had a major importance on her career. She told that story many times and she was a 2 times winner having him as a coach. And now... nothing! Not cool.
You are absolutely right. I remember very well that period, follow his podcast and CompTrain. I can’t believe he was a great coach and now a good for nothing 😢. It’s also true that she never improved her weaknesses.. she talked about it on the Dottir Channel with Annie. Did you listed to it? It’s a weird situation. First she said the she wanted to go back to Iceland and stay with her family then after one year she moved to USA and compete for USA .. i link the video. If you want.. ❤

@@vpryymak I don't think that there were anything going on between them. This is not the point here. I think that they don't mention him and his importance because she is now a HWPO athlete and they think that he is competition now... very poor thinking in my opinion.
I wish you had dived into what she was doing before and what led her to making a move. Seems like there’s more meat on the bone there.
