@@R.LennartzLmao, exactly. People be forgetting what their phones or computers are doing to them and just focus on being afraid of future technology cause new is scarier. @@R.Lennartzyeah, but a pc doenst have legs and hands.
You want a sex robot anyway, admit it.
I think the biggest logical fallacy is that so many engineers are attempting to make humanoid robots, instead of just useful robots - the uncanny valley doesn't serve any meaningful purpose except disrupt social interactions. This frustrating idea of trying to imitate life is the absolute pinnacle of "you were so preoccupied with whether you could, that you never stopped to ask whether you should".
Evolution led to our form for a reason. It's pretty good at a lot of different things. Besides, there's plenty of competition out there doing it differently. Boston Robotics, for example. Anduril. I'm sure many others but I don't have a list in front of me. Your biggest logical fallacy is that you're looking at one thing and acting like it's the entire population.
You're wrong, 99% of robots today are non-humanoids, you just don't see news about them cause people don't care about industrial robots
@@stuffbenlikes evolution is a bad example of reason
I mean human society and buildings are designed for human bodies. It makes sense to make them humanoid, a four legged robot for example would take more space and wouldn’t be able to reach up where humans can. If it can’t help you the same way an extra person could, they don’t really serve any purpose.
@@stuffbenlikes that’s… that’s a fallacy. Which fallacy I’m not sure, but the mechanics of robotics is not equivalent to biological structures. Humans are efficient but only by nature of the benifitd of our biology. but if robots are made to resemble us they become heavy, slow, easy to break and woefully inefficient.
Veristasium has a good collection of videos about the future of robots and the big take away is that simple and specialised robots are much more beneficial than ‘Human’ robots

Human: "e"
1:25 Asimov saw robots as a general good for humanity and absolutely shat on the "scary rebellious robot" stereotype. He wrote some stories specifically to mock people who were scared of robots for no reason and showed every dysfunction as having a logical explanation, instead of the Hollywood bs in which they somehow twist their rules into the exact opposite of themselves, like how the film somehow makes robots declare war on humans to limit harm on humans. For starters, even in the rare situations in which a robot did accidentally cause a human's death, the "emotional" shock would fry their brains.
I would recommend actually reading I, Robot. The film has nothing to do with it except for the title.
Exactly, the closest thing Asimov wrote about about the moralities of robots was the Bicentenary Man, and that was a story about ONE specific robot, not the whole AI. Otherwise his stories are very logical and grounded, presenting robots as just very complex machines mimicking humans, with the conflict and resolution coming from the humans themselves (like, how to design a better positronic brain, or how to circumvent the three laws of robotics to get a confession from a robot that witnessed a crime, etc). Basically the exact same that's happening right now.
As thousands of commenters say Elon "missed the point" of that story because they're the ones who missed the point

Anyway, have you seen Battlestar Galactica? It's pretty good
The problem with robots and automation in general is that is is counter to a working economy. If jobs are taken by robots the people don’t work then they don’t earn money which means they can’t buy stuff which means you have a bunch of people selling things to people that can’t buy them. it will widen the gab between the haves and have nots. Menial labour jobs like those of which the robot was depicted doing, are really the last bastion of a fluid workforce.
They're trying to solve this with a basic universal income, basically a salary for just existing, paid with the work of the robots. Technically good on paper, but it also limits the possibilities of personal growth (you won't be poor, but you will never be rich either), and it exponentially makes the economy even more sensible to disruption. If right now, just losing internet connection could cause chaos in the market, imagine if such digital issues also affected the physical labor force actually supporting the entire economy.
Change is change. I don't think more automation is a bad thing, the problem is more the people whose jobs are taken by that automation. In other words, there's bound to be growing pains as we automise menial labour out of our economy. It sucks, but the march of progress is what it is.
@@doublereel-real you only say that because you exist in a position where you're likely not to be affected

I believe it won't happen. At least not with androids. I've worked with tech for a good time using hands and sometimes head (which means improvising under stress and lack of resources). I know that even something as simple as washing machine need a steady maintenance and specific conditions to work properly. If that conditions don't met then you have a garbage. And it never has neither of those things even in professional settings. That basically sums up any electronic or mechanical tech. The easiest part was inventing and producing it. Now try to repair those things while having angry clients and customers behing your back. After sometime you'll abandon your high-tech android and will do most of hand labour by yourself or end up hiring some underpaid immigrant or student
Melon Husk: "We already have I, Robot at home."
Elon is the sort of guy who watches a movie about dystopian future and thinks it is something to aspire to because he knows that he will be one of the rich oligarchs ruling from the ivory towers.
Did we learn NOTHING from Detroit Become Human
The robot cars bout to execute order 66 on us

So, when are are we getting our real-life version of Skynet, or AM?

WHY NOT PROMOTE THAT HUH?
PROMOTE VR CONTROLLED ROBOTS TO WORK FROM HOME
MAKE BIG VERSIONS TO WORK IN WAREHOUSES
LANKY ARMS WITH WHEEL VERSIONS FOR CAFES RESTAURANT'S AND SUPERMARKETS
ITD BE SO MUCH EASIER

If ya can't use your legs, ya can
Oh, for example: my legs are broken, can't drive, can't order Uber, and am unable to go to my mothers birthday!
OH, I KNOW!

AUTOBOTS-!!!
[activates an industrial looking robot in his garage with an awesome paintjob, long multijointed legs, and long arms with a fridge looking backpack. It's made for package delivery and stuff.]
-ROLL OUT!!!
(its legs fold from the voice command, leaving six leg wheels touching the floor)
(Now looking like a car made of pipes, he drives off to go celebrate his mothers birthday)
Why can't we make cool futuristic nuclear 1950s cars and robots
I hope a phone with a conscious doesn’t do something silly with the robots!!!
The robots look pretty chill ngl
Long story short elon needs more subsidies to waste.
musk is the kind of person to hear about a tragedy and be like "OH SHIT, THAT'S A GREAT IDEA!"
I've read I Robot and it's a series of short sci fi stories where people are convinced that the robots are going to take over the world with maximum violence but they don't either because they can't or they find the concept of world domination a pointless endeavour.
Detroit become human is becoming more real each time Musk open his mouth💀
The things People are gonna do to these robots are what's gonna spark the robot revolution 💀
Those type of people are already investing into the Chinese robots designed to that specific stuff.
I do think human-like robots always will and honestly always should be seem with a bit of disconfort or disgust.
Why make them look like humans at all? If you want a robot to wash your dishes, surely there are better designs for it... And the same goes for any other task... Why not give them treads instead of legs? Would give better balance and more simplified mobility. Why not more than 2 arms? Would allow them to handle more tasks at once... I think the human-like design is, and am sorry to say it, extremely creepy and maybe a reflexive desire on elon's part to replace human workers
I think it's because our houses are designed to be inhabited by humans. I think the idea of these robots is for them to garden, clean the house and get a drink for you. Since they're meant to be multipurpose, they have to navigate and utilise various human machines, as well as navigate homes that could be of any shape. Due to this, the human shape means they can move as humans do, and use our amenities as we do.
In other words, the human design is to make them versatile into many home. Also, giving them inhuman features would make them less appealing to a lot of people. The human shape is probably partly a marketing tactic to make them more personification-able.
@@doublereel-real even if you want a multi purpouse robot, there are still non-human design parts that would be more advantagious from a logical standpoint.
2 legs takes a crazy amount of efford to balance. Only 2 arms limits the desing and having a human-like hand add unnesessary complexity. We cant simulate human hands 1 to 1 for prostetics and thouse robots will definably be far from the quality standard for prostetics, so thouse hands will be even worst. Its a desing that serves only the purpouse of being futurism bait
@@tdl1315 and being futurism bait is unimportant? Marketing is half the product you know.
@@doublereel-real no actually, when it comes to tesla, marking is all of the product, 100% of it, because the product itself is always shit.
Which is bad. If Elon, the retard that he is, sells people on "this is the future" and then the future sucks ass people will be less likely to be interested on it
People who want humanoid robots look like gooners or slave owners
Very cool and futuristic mechanical turks you got there Elon
how musk managed to completely misunderstand the implication I, robot as a movie tries to tell and subverts it completely is legitimately beyond me
I'd rather have the MFing FNAF animatronics than these weirdos 😭
the best part is that the animatronics are indeed real
well the ones from the first game anyway, and the second game ones are on the way, they're obviously better looking than these dumbots
What could go wrong right? I mean it's not like we have countless books, movies and fiction about downfall of humanity because of artificial intelligence
These aren't real robots, they are people in costumes.
Tesla has already admitted this
and these are called fiction for a reason, no way robots can be smarter than humans cuz they have access to internet
@@exp_erienceMaybe you should think of fiction in as much as fairytales tell you to be a afraid of the big bad wolf.
@@tomizatko3138 but you see wolfs actually kill people irl, i have never heard any ai killing a person(i actually didnt heard any if it happend please tell me)
