    The header wheels need a spacer ring rolled up to fit between the two rims, as far out as possible. this would relieve the load from the center stopping the flex cracking.

      @thejacksonbrothers  Год назад +3

      We had the rim centres made thicker a while ago and has been pretty good but your suggestion might be the next step👍😁

    Do you run less air pressure on the outside tire

    Hi Matt. An aircraft tech taught me that they always drill a hole at each end of the crack. Rounds out the stress on the metal and can help stop a crack spreading. Good luck with harvest. Not long now.

    So why you got the front wheels of the combine on backwards? They're pulling the wrong way

    If those cracks appear on duel wheels what sort of stress is put on those 3wide wheels on the American big budget tractors. 😮😮

    • @thejacksonbrothers

      Be great to try! I think it will be excellent compaction wide but we have found in our soil once the gap between the dual tyres fills up with mud (basically same as one big tyre) it just spins because it can’t sink in enough to get some sort of traction🤔 anyway it would be a good experiment👍😁

    Hey Brad get on the excavator and attack the Jeep like old Mate on TV a few years ago . He was so peeved off with Jeep Australia and their lack of warranty support that he destroyed it with an excavator 👎

    There were examples of the LandRover Discovery in NZ that had their airbag suspension modified after multiple airbag failures. Thought Brad might have been either a Isuzu MUX/ DMax diesel or Mitsubishi diesel Triton/ Outlander driver. Most of the modern light utes/ suvs can have problems, Australian company 'Wholesale Automatic Transmissions' RUclips has a thorough video teardown of a failed Ranger/ BT 50 automatic transmission.

    We have welded numerous header rims and we use flux cored wire. It is a low hydrogen weld as the material you are welding is not mild steel.

    Looking at how the wheels bolt onto the hub I find it strange that the inner wheel has some of its own nuts then the outer wheel all appears to use every other stud. I would have thought all the studs would run though both wheels, wondering if that’s why they are cracking

    One of our customer runs a slightly smaller tyre on the outside of his duals to relieve the strain. The tyre only takes load when the header sinks.

    • @thejacksonbrothers

      We do run different pressures to achieve a similar thing but that would certainly do it👍😁

    The air bags just need a guard like a sump guard, or skid plate to wrap up and around the bottom third.

    • @thejacksonbrothers
      @thejacksonbrothers  Год назад

      I think what does it is rocks get wedged against it and rubs holes in them so If the guard was away from it a bit to let the rocks fall out it might work👍😁

    • @bazzinbulgaria4826

      Another, more permanent solution, is to get rid of the airbags and fit coil springs instead.

    • @chrisoakey9841
      @chrisoakey9841 Год назад

      @@thejacksonbrothers you mostly need to stop them coming up and bouncing, so the side closest to the wheel could be pretty much open. its more under the A arm and up mostly forward of the A arm. a nice piece of 3mm aluminium would do. thanks for the content.
