John Rutter is fabulous ... don't you LOVE the Requiem?? The harp writing is amazing. His Christmas caraols are all wonderful!! I love your arrangement of Candlight Carol!! It is truly the 1 Carol that brings tears to my ears EVERY time I hear it! Thank you! It is lovely. I can tell that you know the text, and the choral line. It's so lovely. Thank you, Stephanie. Blessings ... during this Candlelight Season. This is sooooo lovely. Bless you.
Totally agree about the Requiem - I've only gotten to play it twice, but hope I will be able to play it many more times over the years. Thank you for listening!
Well done Stephanie and thank you so much for sharing this amazing performance of yours. Absolutely love Greensleeves and the Vivaldi piece. Ironically my wife and I had attended the Nutcracker performance at St. Kate's which coincided with your live cast, but thankfully we are able to watch on replay. I don't believe there is such a thing as too much Tchaikovsky honestly. Your technique is incredible and enjoy watching your hands dance across the strings as much as listening to the enchanting rhythms and soothing melodies. Again well done, and Happy Holidays!! 💙❄️🎄⛄🤟✌️
How fun that you got to see the Nutcracker. I remember going on a field trip to see the Nutcracker at St. Kate's when I was in grade school. I should go again! Thanks for watching.
This was absolutely delightful. I didn't know you were doing a livestream. I watched the replay. Thank you! You play beautifully! Do more please. Beautiful arrangements. 😁
Lovely concert Stephanie! I loved the Waltz of the Flowers cadenza ❤ and that was a gorgeous arrangement of White Christmas. Thank you for playing Wexford Carol too! I enjoyed your interpretation.
Thank you for letting me play it! Have you met RoJean Loucks? She has done really nice arrangements of a number of those more modern Christmas standards. They are fun to play!
Your concert last year was one of my favorite things on RUclips. I watched it several times for the cozy Christmas feelings your beautiful playing and personality brought. I had tears during the O’ Carolan.. I luckily opened up RUclips and saw this concert going on. You had just started Candlelight Carol and again- tears! As I sang with it. How beautiful! Thank you, Stephanie!
Absolutely! There's a slightly simpler version on SheetMusicPlus that I think is nice. I may put my version up someday, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
couldn't send this at the time you were playing live since we were caroling, but what a delight to have been listen when out singing to some Afghan families here in Colorado!
Thank you again Stephanie, wish I could be there for your live performance in a couple days but having too much going on here in Colorado. I did take in a concert by the Harp Twins accompanie by another set of Nordic looking twins. Will send a pic but am so delighted at the number of harpists we have come across. I still miss your delightful renditions and prefer your selections. Keep the music flowing! If you ever get out this way let us know. Your family is welcome!
Dear Stephanie, I've been 14 days down (but still about - at least at home) with a Terrible Cold and walking around in my PJs. Would you believe that I dressed properly to watch your Christmas Concert? I'm still not well, so my usual mile long comment about the soundtracks have to wait. I sensed a swift hint of melancholy in your concert this year and your wistfulness as you mentioned three different wars (while explaining some soundtracks) made me think. On this note, I like to send you a message for this special season: "Some take up arms in battlefields. Others go to the fields to help the wounded ones. Still others play music or sing a song - and then... there are the ones who listen to them. Angels too. I've read many books about the angelic world and in one of them the author mentions how angels take the fine vibrations of music weaving them for healing. Please, keep in mind that your wonderful offering of musical performances chosen and played with so much sensibility and generosity produce the kind of vibrations that help the world to become a better place." And last - but not least - I like to share a quote by the russian author Dostojewsky: "In the end, it is Beauty💖 that will conquer the world." (Doesn't it ring a bell?.. For Jesus also said 'The meek will inherit the Earth'...) Merry Christmas 🌲, my dear, to you and all the ones who love you and you love too. God bless...😇 And thank you sooo much for your wonderful music.
I'm so sorry you've been sick! But I feel honored you dressed up. I hope you are fully recovered at this time to welcome the new year? Thank you as always for your comments - they make me smile, and think.
I am fine now, thanks! Your Christmas concerts are always a highlight of the season and I watch them all over again each year. When I and my brother and sister were children, our parents would send us early to bed on 24th december and at midnight our father woke us up to the sound of "Joy to the World", sung by a choir, from a fantastic Readers Digest Christmas album. There was also "What Child is This" and I loved it so dearly, and just many years later I came to know that, actually, the melody was originally from "Greensleeves". Waking up to the sounds of beautiful Christmas music created such atmosphere not just in our home, but essentially in our hearts - I recommend it! It was all set: the music, the gifts (Just one for each one of us, because we were not wealthy) under the tree full of colorful blinking lights🎄, the table set with all our mother had prepared with so much care and love for us, the prayer that our father said by heart with his own words and the sharing of that wonderful moment in such joy and peace that is not possible to forget. The following day I was so entranced that I could not talk to anyone, but go to a quiet corner clutching my gift, thinking of baby Jesus and his parents, and all else included. I felt that if I started to speak... that feeling of wonder would go away and I wanted to keep it as long as possible - and THAT was indeed the most beautiful gift: that sense of wonder.😇 Love your rendition of Greensleeves and Joy to the World specially, and all the other ones you play too. And last, but not least, it's always so pleasant listening to your comments in between - it's like we all sit with you right there where you play...🎇🌠🌌
@@StephanieClaussen "You paint such a beautiful word picture of..." How kind (and poetic) of you to say that. You know, so many people go around wondering about 'the meaning of life'... personally I think the meaning of life is feeling intensely. Lots of people may experience the same situation and still feel towards it completely different. It's the grade of pleasant intensity we feel towards something/someone that gives quality to it. Some call this 'love'. 💚
12/16 6:48 am. Sorry, didn’t make it to the live program but, I did watch and listen to all of it this morning. It was very early but, it was so cheery and peaceful at the same time. It was a very nice way to begin the day. You are very talented. Thank you for sharing with us. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you. ❤
In the course of listening a 2nd time (can one ever hear enough harp?), I am struck, again, by how much I appreciate your harmonic sensibilities, Stephanie. You offer these surprising & delightful chords that are not in the hymnals that sparkle & satisfy my ear! [in this case, I refer to O Come Emmanuel]. Maybe it’s a Minnesota thing? 🤭. Anyway, thank you for such beautiful arrangements!
Beautiful Stephanie! I have been playing my harp and writing pomes I like to play on my harp. I like listening to other harpist as well so I thought I would just see what other harpist were up to and you came up so I thought I would have a listen. I will admit I am new to most of the songs your playing here but they are beautiful. I have been playing Andrew lloyd webber unexpected song and memory from cats. That's my Christmas love songs. But this is really beautiful. I would love to know where you got the books your playing out of I love the Nutcracker. especially old school dancers like Mikhail Baryshnikov and Vladimir Vasiliev. I have both versions I love to watch this time of year. Thanks for a wonderful concert😊😊
Hi Sandra - thank you so much for listening and commenting! So glad you like the Nutcracker music. It's been such a long time since I've seen the ballet; I ought to revisit it. I've added the arrangers and books in the description box so you can check out any of the specific pieces. The Nutcracker suite by Eleanor Fell is really a lovely book!
Unfortunately John Rutter's publishing company has not made the license available through Sheet Music Plus, so I am not able to share it legally. I'm sorry!
Not yet - I hope to publish it someday though! You can find the melody alone here: playforddances.com/dances/green-sleeves-and-pudding-pies/. But there are many accidentals to be dealt with. (Doable on lever harp, but I think easier on pedal harp.)
Thanks for all your beautiful music. Hello from Wyoming. Your joy is contagous when you play!
Your playing is amazing! And I love especially that you do this for your wonderful Lord!

Ok. Thank you for your reply. It is beautiful! It probably won't work for my 29 string lever harp anyway.@@StephanieClaussen
