I agree with that. Ed Hubbs is a professional and makes his living airbrushing. I'm generally airbrush as a hobby and use tricks make up for years of experience. TD
That's funny, I used to screen print shirts. I didn't even think about that. That definitely seems like alot of work but another killer idea. That's why you make the big bucks. Thanks again,
Damn, thanks a lot. You show all us the most amazing designs, can be made with a little creativity. Thanks a lot and keep it up with your great work!!!!
@VelezJ20 I just used spray adhesive because this is a small project. You don't want to use any outside chemical on a big job cause it coul cause problems.
@alloutperformance yeah, volume control is a little wonky. by the time it goes through renering and through youtube it's get's all janky. I'm working on it to find the right balance.
That's why you use rice paper...IT is made from Kozo (mulberry) bush, which makes them strong and hold up to a variety of art chemicals. I got mine at Pearl's for $7 for 48 sheets. I paint pinewood derby cars, and I took plain sticker decal labels of Angry birds, stuck them on and clearcoated right over them...held up fine.
Because rice/tracing paper is so thin, if you just lay it down on a black surface it'll look really dark. Putting white on the reverse side keeps it bright an clearly visible.
I love the music I'm using. It's almost all by a buddy of mine named DJ Kazuya. He's taking a break from music right now so that's why it's not always available on his website, Enkeria-com. He is planning on putting links to all his music on his site in the future. Don't worry I've got plenty of it. He gave me like 500 songs to use and remix however I wish. I keep telling him to keep mixing new stuff, everyone tells me they absolutely love it. I know I do.... TD
some refinements to Tony's cool tip 1. soak yr laser-printed pic in water, leave blank space around it 2. when wet, lay it on a flat surface, face down 3. take an X-acto and slit between the 2 layers of paper. Use yr fingers to gently roll the paper. 4. Let dry, cut around, you get a thinner piece of paper no one will notice 5. use wallpaper glue (well reduced), pic stays flat, no bubble tx tony, sort of reminded me grade 3 or 4, lol
VTwin4Christ - you have your comments set where we can't reply. I think the setting is in Google + somewhere. To answer your question... try spraying clear coat on the back of the images first to make them sticky. If that doesn't work you can use stick glue or adhesive to stick them to the surface then clearcoat over them. Just be careful. The more stuff you put on the image the taller it becomes and it becomes more difficult to put clearcoat on top without it creating bumps or ridges.
That looks awesome! I really like your videos, dude. I have watched a few of them now, and I think I may end up with the craziest looking bicycles in town after your tips on how to paint them. Thanks, bro.
HEY!! please tell me where can i download this music?? and u r pro man... im airbrushing too but i only practicing yet!! im waiting for your new videos!
I'm curious as to how light fast a regular ink jet printed image is? If the final product is going to get a lot of UV exposure, is the printed material going to retain it's integrity as long as quality paint will?
@WAubD Maybe you had some air bubbles in your paper when you set it down on your project and when you painted on it the paint dried and where the air bubbles were at they crinkled up. Just a guess.
did you shot a couple layers of clear over it? until you that you'll still feel the edges, the clear coat gives it that nice even feel to everything and makes it blend in.
wow- great tutorial. Just a quick question- Do you have any fading issues if this is somewhere on a high sun area like hood/trunk? aka- will it hold up? Also any moisture issues since it's paper based? thanks-
@AirbrushTricks a ok and what recomond for a big project cause im planig on painting my truck and i would like to try it out precciate the advise by the way keep it up
i know from my practice tracing paper is not all the same, cheap tracing paper is more like rice paper ( real rice paper is too thick for this job IMO) however there is thinner tracing paper brands so i suggest you sample different types and test them first ,
Hey there Tony, Quick question for you, what type of paint are you using for this job? I notice your fond of autoair and such, i just cant seem to get the Fascolor and Createx (yes i know cheapo) to flow just right. Got it down to milk consistancy, dunno if you have any tips.
hi tony what kind of paint you use,coz the colour green its really light,i use createx but the green is a bet dark though,or u mix 2drops of green and 1drp of white? really helpful channel, respect
@revellmodels if you download the trial of photoshop and copy the image of the dollar bills and open them in photoshop there is an ability to warp the image. That should easily help you to attain the correct image you'd like. :)
URGENT QUESTION - How do you stop the tracing paper or tissue paper from bunching up and looking terrible? I have tried tissue paper, tracing paper... Wet clear coat, dry clear coat, spraying back with paint first. The best progress I had was waiting for clear coat to flash... Then spray tracing paper with spray paint first... Then place on surface. But as soon as I hit it with clear, it bunches up. :( Am I not waiting long enough for it to dry first?
how do you get the green clear flames on the black when i tried it you couldnt see the green what paint do you use just before the green is applied?????
if I wanted to have the say dollar notes popping out like 3d style could I just use thick paper< I want to make it so my deign comes out from the background so it looks like it has sort of an "outdent" as opposed to an indent lol?
one thing i want to find out is.. i want to airbrush a small part of a helmet without having to scuff the whole thing..do i scuff a small section ,airbrush , tape around small part , clear , scuff and buff all thogether??
what program is that you used to bend those bills. i know that you can do alot more with it but i dont know the name of that program. thank and keep it up. i really looks great.
Hey Tony! Are you wacked man? Everytime I see you in these videos your pupils are Gigantic!! Huge! And do you think you could have pointed at the camera a couple more times within the last 10 seconds before the credits? lmao.
Can you add this trick I too of a cool airbrush paint job? I have a killer paint job and he nailed the presidents face but I want to try to make the dollars body look realistic. Can this be done and not screw up the original paint job?
hey bud are you still available here cus i checked airbrush tricks.com but cant find it... i just had a preference question for ya if you didnt mind pls thx... what vinyl cutter you recommend to me thats best for cutting out my own stencils, and vinyl stickers that i can use either for airbrushing paint masks like for rc cars or for a window sticker, ok thanks buddy
Cool videos man I've been airbrushing for a little while now I was wondering I'm doing a portrait of a car and i wanted to know the best way to have all the body lines of the car look good any tips would help me thanks man I learned alot from your videos
@rhblakeman thats a motorcycle... A: those things rarely see daylight for most people, and when they do, its for short times before put back in their garages. people also take very good care of their bikes. especially with custom finishes. and its also just one image, which is still a weak link in the otherwise solid chain, but not "guaranteed to fail"... nothing is guaranteed.. but anything that is not a paint product is considered a "contaminant" and "could" affect longevity.
@AirbrushTricks as a 15 year painter, i can tell you that if its not paint, intercoat clear, flake, pearl, or candy, its got no business between your basecoat and clear coat. rice paper or not. now this may fly for test panels or xbox shells, you do that to a car and you WILL be redoing it later. would hate to see your car peeling up because some rice paper got between it. just my experience bro. just because it works in the present, doesnt mean it will work down the road. costly mistake.
Thanks again,
LOL... I got redirected and watched this classic again... Still holds true... I still use this great technique today...
Damn, thanks a lot. You show all us the most amazing designs, can be made with a little creativity. Thanks a lot and keep it up with your great work!!!!
@717YamahaR1 Depends on the size. You can get 8.5 by 11 at any craft store.
@VelezJ20 I just used spray adhesive because this is a small project. You don't want to use any outside chemical on a big job cause it coul cause problems.
@pumthuggee yeah, probably a little. UV resistant clear will help.
@bboy0610
You can but rice paper is much thinner so it doesn't bulge up uner your clearcoat.
@alloutperformance yeah, volume control is a little wonky. by the time it goes through renering and through youtube it's get's all janky. I'm working on it to find the right balance.
dude i love your dance moves!
and i also love your tutorials, keep up the good work! this was really cool to see
Been looking for a lesson on how to do this and I genuinely appreciate it
Radical dude! Totally sick trick!!!
the song is "Citizen - 1980 (Neutral Mix)"
That's why you use rice paper...IT is made from Kozo (mulberry) bush, which makes them strong and hold up to a variety of art chemicals. I got mine at Pearl's for $7 for 48 sheets.
I paint pinewood derby cars, and I took plain sticker decal labels of Angry birds, stuck them on and clearcoated right over them...held up fine.
@rhblakeman Yeah, waterslide rocks but you have to do it on a light background, that's the only drawback.
@godofm3tal1 That's why the pros use rice paper because the clear coat soaks into it and you don't have any problems.
Because rice/tracing paper is so thin, if you just lay it down on a black surface it'll look really dark. Putting white on the reverse side keeps it bright an clearly visible.

that's a very handy tip indeed, thanks for all the videos you've provided and I'm looking forward to seeing more in the future (top man!)

@audi97x Try using actual Auto-air reducer. It really helps.
@captaindrywall LOL...Yeah, I'm tweaking the audio settings. You never really realise how loud it's gonna be until you finish.
That looks awesome! I really like your videos, dude. I have watched a few of them now, and I think I may end up with the craziest looking bicycles in town after your tips on how to paint them. Thanks, bro.
@XVI0001 Ed Hubbs is the man... but no i figured it out via word of mouth.
@DjShuffleKid Not really. I don't make any money doing this stuff. I have a regular job. I just airbrush for fun and as a hobby.
Man, love the tunes and videos, keep them coming brother.
HEY!! please tell me where can i download this music?? and u r pro man... im airbrushing too but i only practicing yet!!

i like this trick i can think of way too many applications for this. thanks a ton.
thanks for keeping it inspiring, great work!!!!
Hey Tony. Do you have the app for the design download bud?
Cool effects and very impressive!
I would like to try this.
Cheers, Jon.
Love the videos man. Helps me tremendously.
I put my "guess" down as to the type of paint, but could you give us the exact colors/types?
Thanks
@Gumbie2009 As thick as possible. Exactly because of what happend to you. That's why automotive clear is almost a must for this.
@Ulookingatmeuh dude, I'm in my garage... This is just a hobby.
what's the music at the star of the video, awsome video man. Greet from Finland
that hardstyle made this video for me.
wow, I always wondered how the use of dollar bill images were used in murals. It just looks to intricate to be painted.
Trickery bastards! Lol that's so awesome, limitless ideas from this, thanks man!
wow- great tutorial. Just a quick question- Do you have any fading issues if this is somewhere on a high sun area like hood/trunk? aka- will it hold up? Also any moisture issues since it's paper based? thanks-

Looks like a similar effect to the "Picture Glue" used to place pictures on the inside of clear RC car shells
hi tony what kind of paint you use,coz the colour green its really light,i use createx but the green is a bet dark though,or u mix 2drops of green and 1drp of white? really helpful channel, respect

who teached you this? Ed Hubbs??

Where can i find a photo like the one you used for the 100's?
how do you get the green clear flames on the black when i tried it you couldnt see the green what paint do you use just before the green is applied?????
@daddyslittlesoldier It's much thinner.
@darkdragon7777777 Of course, same concept just go in reverse.
was just wonderin what size air tank you use for your spray gun for the clear in this
@AirbrushTricks Too good for you to do it just as a hobby. You could definitely make some money doing this stuff, Diggin the video tutorials Btw!
if I wanted to have the say dollar notes popping out like 3d style could I just use thick paper< I want to make it so my deign comes out from the background so it looks like it has sort of an "outdent" as opposed to an indent lol?
Because the paper is so thin when you spray adhesive on there it would soak through. That's what I THINK, I might be wrong though.
ok now this is important on any video, make sure the music is at least three times louder than the narrator.
what needle tip are you using through most of your vids. i can't seem to find the correct tip for my project.
one thing i want to find out is.. i want to airbrush a small part of a helmet without having to scuff the whole thing..do i scuff a small section ,airbrush , tape around small part , clear , scuff and buff all thogether??
what program is that you used to bend those bills. i know that you can do alot more with it but i dont know the name of that program. thank and keep it up. i really looks great.

Will this paper withstand temperature of the engine valve cover? What you think?
@vlcspain4ever2 Une Auto-Air et Rice Paper.
@rhblakeman thats a motorcycle... OMG UR SKILLS R AWESOME DUDE ......SLEEEEEEEEEK
hey tony was just wondering does it matter if the printer is inkjet or does it have to be lazer
Do you run the rice paper thru the printer? Inkjet or laser printer?
Thought u kant clear over paper or adhesive???
do u have to use a candy color or will any type of paint work?
HAF 932 case, nice.
I'm gonna have to try this on mine...
@Gumbie2009 give it 2-3 layers depending on how thick it is
@AirbrushTricks as a 15 year painter, i can tell you that if its not paint, intercoat clear, flake, pearl, or candy, its got no business between your basecoat and clear coat. rice paper or not. now this may fly for test panels or xbox shells, you do that to a car and you WILL be redoing it later. would hate to see your car peeling up because some rice paper got between it. just my experience bro. just because it works in the present, doesnt mean it will work down the road. costly mistake.
Did you have to trim the paper to fit in the printer ?
What's the name of the song... ??? -Please...
