Agree. And how often do you need to roll down a front and rear window at the same time? You don't need a dedicated switch for each window. Complaining about this is like complaining that you only get one knob to adjust BOTH side view mirrors and that you have to "select" the driver's or passenger's side view mirror before you can adjust it.
If the front/rear switch was something tactile that you could check by feel, perhaps it could be considered an improvement. But the capacitive touch switch is too easy to use by accident. I consider that a spectacularly dumb design decision, almost as bad as the climate controls that require one to look away from the road for much too long. On my first test drive this latter problem was serious enough that I had to pull over when the windshield started fogging up. And then, a few hours later, I saw the exact same problem from a UK test driver on RUclips. These design decisions are flat out dangerous.
I had a 2021 pro s for 3 years I traded it in for a 2024 pro s red just like the one in this video. I love all the changes they made, I love the car that's why I bought a second one. By the way you didn't show all the storage in the hatch there's a second level which is very deep.
Will be buying a used ID.4 within weeks. The drive is amazingly comfortable. The full matrix lights and head up display are other highlights. (I’m in Denmark)
Bought a '21 AWD Pro S a couple weeks ago for a steal with the $4k transferable tax rebate. Got to road trip it on the way home from buying it and liking it. Next year will be putting in the Lv2, but for the most part L1 charging works for me with the occasional trip to a DCFC until then. If I make it to work early enough or nab a spot during lunch, I can charge at work too. Went from an '08 Rabbit to this, soooo big jump!
i had the 2021 first edition and now upgraded to the 2023 id.4 Pro S AWD...not sure i could drive anything else at this point...have the tow hitch an tow several different trailers with it as well. Its my work vehicle :)
I've had a loaner 2024 Pro while waiting for my e-Golf to be repaired. I love it so far. The one thing I miss about my Golf is adjusting the regen manually. They should bring that tback for the ID4
Could OPD be enabled via software updates, if VW choose to do so? Coming from a BMW I5, where OPD is working perfectly, this is something I would really appreciate .
Nice video! Looking to order a VW ID.4 Pro RWD today probably. Testdriven it and it's amazing! I love it :D Coming from a Kia e-Niro owner, I will miss the one pedal driving tho, but that's it, I can learn to live without it. :D
I agree with the built quality comments. I drive my 2023 AWD Pro S+ about 65 miles a day and it's much better than my EV6. The overall feel and driving experience is great. I'm glad to see VW make the steady improvements in the power and controls.
Ive beem debating between the kona, equinox, and the id 4 and i was about to get the kona but im somewhat considering the id 4. If anyone has aany opinions on any of those cars id love to hear them out
Thanks for the review. We own a 2023 VW ID.4 Pro-S and have been well pleased. The window controls are just not smart, ironically enough for a vehicle called Intelligent Design (ID) 😅 Slow (basically, nonexistent) software updates would be one of my biggest gripes. We purchased February 2023, and I only recall one update. That brings me to gripe number 2, the infotainment system is better since the update, but still WAY TOO inconsistent 😢 Other than those, it's been great and love the ride. Again, thanks and God bless. By the way, I have subscribed 😊
Can any EV being you tubed not mention a TESLA like they set the standard...Whi F'n cares about a frunk!! Who came up with such a stupid naming convention! SICK of hearing NO FRUNK! Get over it!! Thx
Volkswagen killed its EV products because VW never has enough available stalls to charge and always broke. EV owners always wait or fight to get charged. I owned the 2022 Pro S.
How often do I use the switches in my car for the rear windows? All the time. How often is by accident? Every. Single. Time. VW got this right.

I don't ever use rear windows. I don't get people whinning over this.

@@KeithHanlan I didn’t think the window switch was capacitive?
@@27lacuna27 the front/rear switch is, at least in the 2024 model I drove. The left and right controls were the familiar lever.

I am so exited for my ID.4, only 2 more weeks. In the testdrives, the travel assist did great work.
Looks better on the outside than all competitors.

Love how Volkswagen nailed it with this refresh! 🚗✨ Great job! 👏

Wht about route planning--charge stops etc??

I have a new id4 pro my first ev love it uk spec so slightly different
My fleet ID4 Pro S 2024 had the electrical system die after 1,500 milez
Nice looking car. VW finally got it tight!
As a pedestrian, I almost got hit by a Tesla using OPD. So I wish all cars used a brake pedal and not just the accelerator.
Great looking and they don’t try as hard as others to scream I’m an EV
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😍😍😍😍😍
God I hate touch screens in cars
Can get it for $24.000 here in China..
Is it a real one tho? 😂😂🤷🏻♂️

Same old dangerous eyes-off-the-road controls instead of switches. Not ever
Bad choices by VW in terms of controls and switches. Needs a redesign. Looks cheap.
Why doesn’t VW get it right the first time? Always playing catch up.

This is a horrible review. The ID4 is much bigger in terms of legroom than a mach-e
this car has zero appeal, like all id vw models
