I was one of the Rat Ladies 94-96. I still have my 96 shirt, plus a shirt one of the scareactors had produced which was comprised from artwork made by various Dungeon scareactors. 94 also had Roach Man and Snake Man/Lady. Snake Man/Lady's setup was also in the Dungeon of Terror. I don't remember which house Roach Man was in, but they had giant hissing Madagascar roaches for his set, as well as props that would make him appear to be eating them. I think that was the only year that Roach Man was done, but I don't know for sure. I had a blast playing the Rat Lady, but sadly, never got to be mobile. That would have been so much fun!

@@BuckarooBanzai84 I wasn't able to take any personally, but we did find homes for the rats by the end of the season.
During my final year, one rat in particular would climb up onto my shoulder and nuzzle into my neck while I'm trying to look scary. There's more than one Rat Lady, and this rat did this to all of us. We ended up putting her into early retirement in order to find a home worthy of such a sweetie.

As an orlando native, HHN has become a tradition/coming of age. Growing up, we were always introgued by it and the few who went in 5th grade were the coolest most fearless kids. Middle school, it was still a kind of rite of passage, the shirts being worn to school the whole time it was open to prove you had been. High school, it was almost mandatory by all groups of friends to go, afraid or not, but larger, groups (both boys and girls) made it waayy more fun. Now im in my senior year of college and i still go with select friends and cousins every year to see what comes up next. Highly recommend to everyone

Steven Spielberg hated it when he found out there where scare actors in the ET ride that year to the point that it never happened again because he threatened to never work with universal studios again. The same threat is why the two remaining ET rides will never close. He was also not happy they closed the Hollywood version.

I miss how intricate the Halloween horror nights website used to be. It used to be a part of the experience and it made me wanna go that much more. I live in Los Angeles so I've only been able to attend the Hollywood event (which is great by the way) but I have always wanted to go to the Florida event since I was in high school. Also one house I wish I could have gone to was the one that was themed as if all the marvel villains (when universal still owned the rights to marvel) had escaped and tortured/killed all of the superheroes. Such a cool concept that I would have loved to have seen executed.

@@TherealRNOwwfpooh i suppose that makes sense. I'm tired, so I didn't think about it. But no, there is evidence of people leaving McKamey Manor with bruises and other signs of physical harm, and mental trauma bordering on possible PTSD levels of severity. There's a reason you have to have a perfectly clean bill of health from both a gp and psychologist, as well as be at least 18, sign a waiver (which is apparently the only thing that keeps this thing legal), and pass a Skype interview and on-sight drug/BAC test with the owner before you're allowed in. The house is run as part of the owner's animal rescue charity, so I suppose it has a good intention at least? Still don't think it should be as intense as it is, though.

Native from Orlando. Been going since 04 when it was really well. Unfortunately while it has gotten bigger in name I enjoyed it more when there were more original IPs. They also have the task of navigating in this PC culture where everyone is very offended as they had to change the theming multiple times on multiple years. While some we're respectfully warranted I feel it has been watered down a bit but love the nostalgia it brought when I was younger. Great work on the vid and keep it up !

@@ekl7804 it's a step in the right direction. I think they started to hear the rumblings of the faithfuls. I like the walking dead and American horror story but I don't want to see it every single year as an attraction

Just exactly what I like to hear about!!! HHN...my MOST favorite park event ever!!! Excited to get there this year!! Great history video! I've only been going since 24 but I would have to think on fave maze. I prefer originals, so I know my fave for each year. But I guess I would answer Jack's mayhem in 25 mainly cause it gave me lil piece of several of the old mazes I wished I would have seen! ~Dawn

Beautifully executed... However, if you're going to tell ancient stories, such as the origin of the first Halloween event at USF, you probably should consult one of the (ancient) people who REALLY DID create the first event. But still... Beautifully executed.

I wonder if they'll update the _Stranger Things_ house with each season (much like they updated it for season 2 involving the classroom scene of Jane "Eleven" Ives-Hopper [Millie Bobbi Brown] defeating the Demogorgon, since the original iteration focused strictly on season 1). Perhaps, including the Starcast mall from season 3 for the current iteration?

To be honest, I prefer the innocent yet creative and fun time of the halloween party at Disney where you get to dress up and go trick or treating even as an adult over the halloween events at other theme parks where they TRY to be scary.
