The names are located in .narc 0/0/2. I forget which file, seeing as how I haven't hacked Black version in a few months, but all the names are encrypted. So, you'll need to either find a translated list somewhere with all the Trainers' names. I'd suggest some of the forums on projectpokemon(dot)org. As for the mugshot, be sure it's 16 bit. (16 colors only) I used photoshop to do that for mine.

Believe it or not, Blaziken and Venusaur have the exact same speed, according smogon. Blaziken and Venusaur's base speed is 80 and on top of that I set all Red's Pokemon to the highest difficulty the trainer editor would allow, and on top of that I don't use an uber powered Speed Boost Blaziken. I honestly don't see why people think Blaziken is so fast when their highest base stats are attack and special attack, not speed.
You're dead wrong on that. A counterpart is; "A person or thing holding a position or performing a function that corresponds to that of another person or thing in a different area." Ash was based off of Red, therefore Ash is Red's anime counterpart. Same goes for Gary, Brock, Misty, Oak, Ash's mom, May, Dawn, and many, many more characters.
As aforementioned earlier, the first 3 titles released in 1996 were for gameboy pocket and therefore colorless. We couldn't distinguish the fine details and needless to say, the hair color. However, they made it very clear that red has black hair in the 1997 manga, and that's what I meant when I said it should stay true to the manga.

I don't edit hexes. Search KazoWar's B/W tools. Those are what I use. Also, the music isn't actually in the game, it's silenced with an audio track over the musicless battle..

I still don't see why people hate on Ash. If you really think about he has done a lot more than Red has. He made it in the top 16, top 8 (twice), top 4, and top 8 again in the leagues of 5 regions. He won the Orange League. He has collected 8 badges from 5 regions (that's 40) plus he defeated Hoenn's (Kanto's in the anime) Battle Frontier. Red has defeated Kanto's E4 and Champion and that's that. They are two different people with different accomplishments. Can we just leave it at that?
NO so many people get this wrong originally Satoshi Tajiri wanted red to be ash(the same person so red would not exist just ash as them both in and anime) but after a review of the audience that bought and played Pokemon games red and blue (in japan) they saw it that the audience was 8-12 year olds so when they made the anime they kept ash at 10. Satoshi wanted ash/red to grow with the fans but for the purpose of sales they kept him at 10 but in the manga satoshi's dreams were/are fufilled.

One, I think it is too complicated. Two, you need Desumume or whatever it is, and you need a Pokemon Black/White ROM with its save file. Have those?
