When I was middle aged I discovered one of the keys to happiness in life. That is...to keep learning. When you are young you have school and learning is a natural part of your life. But when you become an adult and you have jobs and kids and all that busy-ness you can get in a rut. You have to seek out learning, maybe a new hobby, explore your library to find books of a genre you don't usually read. Get a cooking magazine, go to some sporting event for something you know little about. There is a world out there to be curious about and learn about. You will be a much more interesting wife, friend, mother. And you will be happier. Thanks for another great video!

So true it’s like Faust from Goethe, in the Prologue where god makes a pact with mephistopheles about faust that if he stops aspire things in life mephistopheles wins, but god knows people will constantly aspire new things so the mephistopheles didn’t even have a chance to win in first places.

I really like how you pointed out that being individual doesn’t mean to look down on other people who might not be as “unique” as you. Having individuality brings more “spice” and “flavor” to our communities.
I just had to pause the video for a moment to type this because I think about the whole “hipster moment” or mindset that has become prevalent nowadays where certain people are like: “oh i liked that before it was cool, now that it’s cool I can’t like it anymore”. And that mindset is just so problematic, because in an effort to be more “authentic” and “individual” you put down others and suck happiness away from others with your constant drive to “stand out”. Just BE YOU and love what makes you happy! Let your inner light shine!

I just shared your video with my mom and she loved it! she says when she goes to work (she's a psych aide) she sings/jokes/tries to bring some levity and joy to the patients and some co-workers will make fun of her because of her natural cheerfulness (she's 67 and while to my 28 year old self she can sometimes be "too cheerful" who actually complains about that???? lol) and she always responds "who are you to rain on my parade?!". she loves your wholesomeness, your devotion to christ and the way you express yourself. I've struggled with depression and negativity in the past and I've overheard my mom pray about/for me which makes me sad. This is so true. Sadly I know so many women who need to find something negative about so much. They need to do it to feel better about themselves. It is sad. I have been in Church with my husband and son and my husband will notice other women who will give me that up and down stare. My husband has even made a comment. I told him I am used to it or I just think it is not for me. It is for the beautiful woman behinde me or some esle. He just laughed.

As a feminine woman, I can’t stand that “I’m not like other women” attitude! We should seek out friendships with other women and try to lift each other up in a positive way! To alienate yourself from other women by trying to come off as “cool” only ensures that you’re writing off potential friends as “uncool.”

One thing that's been hard, but necessary, is the realization that we need more like minded people in our lives. We moved to a very traditional Christian area, and it's been so much more filling. We get accused of abandoning many people from home or burning bridges, but we are holding firm that lying and cheating are not something we will support or want to be around.

I have to say (because in your vids you often mention "if you're not cristian, no need to listen to this tip") that I'm not Christian but I love your christian content sprinkled here and there, I love the advice you give about being obedient, I love the tiny moments in vlogs when you're going to church or going to bible study, etc etc. The reason why I love those things is because even tho I've never been christian and never will be, I value things like modesty, connecting to something bigger than myself, serving others from a place that is "bigger" than me and that requires that I step out of my comfortable self-centeredness, I value purity and innocence and all those things you talk about. As far as I'm concerned, keep sprinkling the christian things on the channel, they make me feel cosy inside and connected to something bigger than myself. Much loooove Mrs!

You're absolutely right. I'm a practicing Hindu and ever since I have incorporated the Bhagavad Gita into my routine my energy has lifted a lot. I'm happier and feel fulfilled. I always think of one line of Lord Shri Krishna - 'Do the work, don't expect the fruits of your labour'.
As long as our intentions are good the results should not matter! I do everything this way and I'm achieving success in every aspect! Thank you for asking people to find their way spiritually. Sincerely, a 21 year old! 🙏🏻

When you started speaking about not being afraid of being enthusiastic I felt that. I just realized I usually look a bit cold because I’m afraid of showing my interests and sympathy... do you have any advice for me? How to stop that nonsense?
    Love your content ❤️

    • @kristishumway7205
      @kristishumway7205 4 года назад +4

I was totally this way! I personally was very quiet and much of the reason was being afraid to show the "wrong" emotion or say the "wrong" thing. If it helps, I started to "allow myself" to be enthusiastic by identifying things that I genuinely like (or dislike), then pushing myself to express my enthusiasm (or opinion) when they came up. It probably sounds crazy that I had to practice this, but I definitely did. It's been very freeing, and, yep, it has definitely increased vibrancy in my life.
For showing sympathy, I realized that a lot of it came from just not knowing what to say; again, being afraid to say or do the wrong thing. I literally researched articles and videos on what helps people during hard times, so when I'm stuck, I have go-tos that I can lean on. I realize that it sounds disingenuous, but like a Hallmark card, sometimes someone else can just better express what you're feeling towards someone. My whole goal in those moments is to be there for that person, and if I can do that better with some help, it's worth it.
Apologies for not editing this down further.

I LOVE the tip about being innocent in what types of media we consume, it's so important to guard our hearts and minds! If I wouldn't let my kids watch it, why would I watch it? If it's not good for them it's probably not good for me either! It just desensitizes us so much. Also, as a homeschooling mom I love the tip on education not having to look like what the public school system tells you it should look like...SO freeing & brings back the JOY of learning. Of course my favorite tip is about being in scripture...nothing has changed my life more. ❤️ Thank you for sharing your beautiful energy with all of us, you are always inspiring!

I LOVED this! The topic of people's vibrancy in life is not often discussed and pointed out, yet it is subtle in our everyday lives. There are sooo many people who are very "blah", will cut you down for being joyful, put all their cares into what other people think, focus inwardly on themselves, have never put thought into a relationship with God, etc., yet only lash out to people striving against those things. A video like this pointed out the specifics of how to live a life opposite of that, which is more common among our culture today.

Thank you for shining a light on a way of life that was taken from women especially young women - married and with children. For many years women were 'brain washed' into thinking a career was the only real path for women. Feminine lifestyle and hobbies were just not done any more. Cooking, sewing, tapestry, gardening - decorating your home. Even homes were decorated in dark colors - minimalistic
styles. I feel women were cheated out of a lifestyle which was satisfying, fulfilling, nurturing for many. I love your videos and look forward to watching them.

I totally agree with the walking in nature! People generally these days spend too much time indoors and on devices. It’s very difficult to connect with people who consider wholesomeness and innocence equivalent to stupidity and being sheltered. I usually don’t get called out for mine but instead get excluded and people spread lies about me because of it. Good video though! 🙂
