Here's what 'security' guards have to do regarding displaying their ID here in NZ, notice the copout: It is a requirement that COA’s must be clearly displayed at all times when working, unless there is a reasonable and genuine reason to believe that it would make the wearer, or others, unsafe.

Correct. Rice V Connallly 1966 there is no strict legal duty to assist a Police Office prior to any possible arrest or caution. Further, they use of Section 50 was a misuse of Police powers, as the specific law she quoted is predicated on threatening or abusive behaviour.

They do have it in legislation that upon arrest you must identify. They also have it that you can remain silent. They're full of shit and so are the legislators.

The police cannot use Section 50 as a “blanket power”. When did the Geheime Staatspolizei (Gestapo) become employed by government before too long they will be screaming Ausweispapiere jetzt bitte (Identity Papers Now Please).
However we must remember that we have never been free and will never gain true freedom because we are not citizens, we are all subjects and until we have a solid bill of rights embedded into the constitution (we do have a constitution but is is not coded) and laws cannot override that bill of rights) we will remain subjects to the whims of government and their armed enforcers.
Don't say the police aren't armed there's the armed response units, and many officers now carry tasers and all officers carry batons, if that's not armed well what is?

Section 50 applies to antisocial behaviour, since hes been asked to leave the premises by the venues security and he is refusing he is behaving in an antisocial manner, therefore use lf section 50 is appropriate and as hes then refusing to give details whe requested hes also now committing an offence he can be arrested for. Its not abusing powers but justified action in response to a guy intentionally being a twat simply for 'auditing' content.

I can *ask* you to give me ten quid, but I cannot legally *demand* that you gift me ten quid. Likewise, the police and the security staff were very careful to only *ask* for his details even while threatening arrest under section 50, primarily because trespass is a civil offence, not an arrestable offence.
@@John_Lyle note that if hes harrassing the staff for his video then it becomes antisocial behabiour and thats where the request under secrion 50 means if he reduses the request he is committing an offence so no longer just a civil matter. Also if as part of his tresspass he is intentionally obstructing or disrupting others activities it becomes agravated tresspass which is again a criminal offence not civil. So yeah a request with penalties for refusal is practically a demand.

What is anti social behavior? It is such a broad brush it needs removing from legislation. It could be walking your dog past a street full of Muslims praying in public or breaking wind as you walk past an open cafe. I had a similar situation when an officer threatened me with arrest for not providing my name and number. I was in no way anti social and even people stated I was not the person being looked for. Luckily another officer with facial hair wised them up and let me go. Funny how it’s only the same type of officer determined to force power over you.
