Thank you for sharing your story! I was diagnosed with celiac just a few months before you, based on the blood tests alone. Your ttg numbers were sky high! Due to the pandemic and financial constraints I am only seeing a gastro next month. I have been gf for 2 years now, I am hoping I don't need to do the gluten challenge. I would rather keep doing what I'm doing and hope for the best. I was sick for over 8 years before I got a diagnosis. Did ypu go through with the gluten challenge? What were the outcomes of the biopsy? If you don't mind sharing.
Hey, thanks for your comment! 😊 Sorry to hear your diagnosis was also effected by the pandemic - can understand the stress! I did go through with the gluten challenge in the end (it wasn’t easy as it made me feel ill for weeks). The biopsy indicated coeliac disease so I’ve been gluten free again since (keep meaning to do a video on gluten challenge experience actually!). Whether you would need to do a gluten challenge or not will all depend on your Gastro’s opinion I think, but if I’m right I’m sure the guidance was changed so that a diagnosis can be made on bloods alone (providing your ttg is more than ten times over the limit).
