@@lindah3803 yeah exactly, the dad should have been there. There was also a little part where apparently he was there for Carla when she was grieving, but my point was that the dad wasn’t there for OP. Js clearing it up!
Oh my GAWD! A a reddit story with a positive ending. A step mom that actually tried to be a better person. A pacifist dad growing a fucking spine. It's a goddam miracle.
Anybody notice how the step mother is still being manipulative too and even though the father is "stepping up" he's not really doing anything or saying anything for that matter?
This must be my pregnancy hormones, but this very sweet story made me tear up and I want to cry😭 hearing Carla and op’s dad put work into making amends and doing better and bonding with op is so sweet omg🥹🤌 I love hearing stories with good endings like this.
We have lots of photos of my Nana all over the house and she died more than 30 years ago. Grief is different for everyone. I'm sad this stepmother is HELL towards you.
It is shocking how people believe the scars go away. That years of torment just resolves when someone is sorry. Probably why some hurt others so deeply and uncaring. If they hurt you you’ll forgive them. You have to. It’s family.
Everything is so repetitive, what a waste of time. They say the same thing over and over again. The turning point, the therapy, the family barbecue, the father admitting he was wrong for being passive earlier and how he was more involved now, Carla's dog story and how she would collect pieces of the late mother's memory. I started getting a headache at one point, it was like a tape on loop and I couldn't tell if the story was going forward or backwards.
She didn't respect the step monster because there was no reason to respect a cruel, disgraceful hypocritical bully. Her father was a failure. Keeping the peace doesn't mean throwing your daughter under the bus and letting your new wife trash the first wife's memory. Respect has to be earned OP's father and stepmother earned only contempt, disdain,, loathing and resentment. The happy ending seems tacked on.

It's nice to hear a story where it ended on a positive tone. It sounds like everyone became a better persone because of the troubles.
Yeah well they do say mistakes can help you 😊
Not the typical chaos story, for sure! 🎉
Yes that’s true…. But they keep repeating… geesh
The dad should have been there for his daughter during her grief. It was his late wife after all
OP doesn't have a Dad.
@ it mentioned that the dad was trying to be a mediator as OP grieved over their mom?
@Theofficialnatnat He didn't do anything. He just sat there at the meeting.

@lindah3803 I don't think you listened to the full story. The dad soon realized that he should stop being so dismissive

🤣🤣🤣🤣
It ain't just a miracle. It's mere existence rips apart the fabric of reality
What's with these dad's with not spine?
Pretty much every Reddit story on this RUclips account is the dad's not having any wits whatsoever it's just yeah I mean not have balls
They are more common than you think. I dated one of these guys before. I STG some guys lose their balls when that kid is born
Anybody notice how the step mother is still being manipulative too and even though the father is "stepping up" he's not really doing anything or saying anything for that matter?
Same as the wives with n spines.
It’s amazing that Carla changed, she is now someone OP can share and grieve with.
I love it when the story is a journey of positive growth. People growing from their differences and becoming better versions of themselves. Beautiful.

Not the paragraph person but save your time and don’t watch beyond 10 minutes. Her and Carla work it out and have a good relationship.
Thanks, the video should've ended after OP and Carla worked it out

What do you mean by that I’m just wondering.
To be fair, I miss my pets that have crossed over the rainbow bridge more than I do some people.
For me, my pets were unconditional love which made loosing them so hard.

Not in my world.
V nice story. Finally a good stepmom.

Some things are unforgivable.
The stepmom is forgivable
I agree with op, but i hate how she acts like a dog is just a dog in comparison to a human its honestly disgusting
True!
Don't dish it if you can't take it
Im sorry for ur mom😢❤
That stepmom has no respect for a significant loss in your life. That woman is the definition of "lack of human decency"

I’m too petty for that

Looovvee this resolution 😊❤. 🎶🕺💃
I agree with op but it’s the way she invalidated people who have lost pets . I lost my dog a couple months ago and it still affects me …

I hope the daughter gives her step mom a small puppy for Christmas 🎄 😢 😭
You want OP to be a total doormat, a suck up.
