I’ve been watch now for 2 weeks to the day now and went back 5 years. The food from 3 years to present has seriously gotten majorly insanely awesome! You can salt whatever you're deep-frying right in the rack as soon as you take it out. Salt doesn't dissolve in oil, and unless you have your oil at 800degrees Celsius it won't melt. But the difference between salting right away and waiting even 10 seconds is noticeable.

This made me really miss the Rutgers grease trucks (the origin point of all the jersey fat sandwiches). I know deli's and shops all over the state of taken the fat sandwich model and adapted it their own brand but there was something about walking up to a shady ass food truck plastered in polaroids of co-eds at 2 in the morning in a random parking lot and getting a fat Filipino (Cheesesteak, gyro, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, white sauce, french fries, lettuce, and tomato) . even if they were there anymore sadly i cant have wheat or dairy due to a intolerance. I think i burned the gastro candle from both ends eating stuff like this in my youth and now i and paying the price.
They still have a place where it is nothing, but fat sandwiches. It is in Long Branch near Monmouth University and the place is called Nelly's! So many amazing sandwiches. It is a true fat sandwich place too. It is not a deli.

Guys..... I have recently started watching/following intensely. Thank you; it has re-ignited a desire to cook at home, as restaurants become "more acceptable." Nebraska's ownership of the bierrock, known locally as a Runza ...is a plains staple. These hot & mobile "sandwiches" are a must have at Husker sporting events and Sunday dinners. The (black) peppery seasoned meat, cabbage, and onion in a wonderfully soft bread is an awesome anytime meal....and is a perfect hangover cure. Keep up the good work!

Update: I somehow managed to screw up the mac and cheese (added too much flour to the roux, so i added more butter, but then i ended up makin about 2 metric tonnes of cheese sauce), but the rest turned out great. It might be a bit too heavy for my liking, but the taste was great. I highly recommend this to any foodies out there

Hi Sam, if you're looking to do more regional foods i've got a suggestion for you. I'm from Liverpool England, and we have a lot of chinese takeouts. One of the most popular dishes in Liverpool is something called Salt and Pepper Chicken. We also have with it Salt and Pepper Chips (fries).
How about a Panini Cleveland Style. Sandwich on Loaf Bread- toasted. Deli meat or burger And slice of cheese With home made coleslaw and fries on the sandwich.
Hi gang, so I have a regional food proposal which goes back to Russian Empire - Kiev Cutlet, so what we do is flatten the chicken breast, than wrap it around the frozen compound butter into what basically is a football shape (yes, american football shape, so it's gonna be funnier for you), than coat it in bread crumbs and fry it. Also there is a thing to add mushrooms and cream cheese into the butter. And there is one 1915 cook book in which there was a version made with veal cutlet (for 1 pound ground veal add 3 table spoons of butter, 1 egg, and some bread soaked in milk, but squeeze milk from it before adding, don't need that extra moisture, add salt and mix it nicely, than form patties and do all the wrapping coating frying routine)

Here in Australia especially on the Eastern Coast a very popular fast food\ takeaway foods is the Beef Halal Snack Pack. A Halal Snack Pack is essentially a bed of chips (fries), topped with cheese, topped with doner kebab meat and then thats all covered in a sauce of choosing, usually BBQ, Chili or Garlic and can be topped with optionals like jalapeño peppers, tabbouleh, and hummus. I would love to see what you could do with the dish.

About a year ago I was in NJ celebrating my nephews graduation from Coast Guard boot camp. We ended up at the Cross Roads where I had this phenomenal "burrito". In Chicago there is a sandwich called the jibarito which is a steak sandwich, but the bread is flattened and fried plantains! Delicious and definitely something to think about making.

A Halal Snack Pack is essentially a bed of chips (fries), topped with cheese, topped with doner kebab meat and then thats all covered in a sauce of choosing, usually BBQ, Chili or Garlic and can be topped with optionals like jalapeño peppers, tabbouleh, and hummus. I would love to see what you could do with the dish.

About a year ago I was in NJ celebrating my nephews graduation from Coast Guard boot camp. We ended up at the Cross Roads where I had this phenomenal "burrito". I kept singing its praises and swore we would have to make a pilgrimage back for another one of these concoctions. Now I can make em at home in L.A.

In Chicago there is a sandwich called the jibarito which is a steak sandwich, but the bread is flattened and fried plantains! Delicious and definitely something to think about making.
