    I find it hilarious that people 10 years ago really hated the idea of having a Prius. However now everyone wants one and the price is just keep going up and up in the used market. And I agree as a enthusiast, I would love a Prius it would be my road trip car grocery getter everything in between hell you can even sleep in them full time!

    • @DesmondBedarte
      @DesmondBedarte 2 года назад

      I bought a 2022 LE AWD and I like it, but I am perplexed by your statement that "now everyone wants one". Sales have been poor for several years, and while they seem to retain their value quite well in the used market, the new ones are not selling well at all. That may change with sky high gasoline prices, but as of now, NOT everyone wants one.

      @@DesmondBedarte I just bought the only one in the dealership. It’s a limited. Before I bought it I went to test drive a bmw i4. There’s a 10-12 month wait on it and it’s about $20k more without all these options. I feel I made a right choice.

    • @DesmondBedarte

      @@vegalavegana Same with mine- only one on the lot. Initially, I didn't think they charged any mark-up over MSRP, but there was an unexplained $300 dealer fee which in hindsight I guess was their markup. 1% I can tolerate, especially after hearing how bad it has been for others. I hope you are happy with yours. Mine has been good, averaging about 60 mpg!

      @@DesmondBedarte I feel I overpaid even though I haggled and the manager was a family friend. It doesn’t even have a sunroof and it cost me 37, 576. They were asking $43k and I downright laughed and got up to leave. Absolutely ridiculous. I would not have ever thought of buying this car but we needed it asap as my husbands 2011 Hyundai sonatas engine went totally kaput. The inventory just isn’t there for the new EV’s.

    We just bought one of these for my wife. Exact model. 2022, White LE-AWD. I think the vehicle is great. We've put 100 miles on it so far and averaging 48.5 mpg. Can't beat that. I do think that toyota has made some sacrifices to its "base model" that companies like Hyundai and Kia are ahead of. For example, this car doesn't even have auto headlights, theyre old school like my 1998 truck. You have to manually turn them on. Crazy, but theyre all LED, even the base model which is great. Also, I don't believe any Prius models in 2022 are eligible for remote connect except the Prime. So even at $30K+ theres not even a remote starter option. However, where they've eliminated bells and whistles on the base models safety features like Blind Spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and lane assist come with it, so I guess you be the judge on what you think is worth your money. Other than that, I think the car is pretty sharp.

    I get much better fuel mileage than advertised, and it's a comfortable ride.
    My one gripe is with the seats; they suck. The seats in the Prius V are much better (the V is based on the Lexus ct200h), am I'd like to see if I can retrofit them into my car.
