It's crazy that you are standing exactly where I caught my only blue catfish(rod and reel)right off the get go!! 27#s,that was the week before y2k hit Tulsa like the nothing it was..lmao...Damn I'm old...
Haha y2k sure seems like a long time ago. I was still in high school then haha. Bit yeah, fishing is still hood. But maybe a bit more crowded than it used to be.
In the town of Cleveland , Bert Casey had an ice dock and since he fished for catfish he always had their heads stuck on stakes in front of his store! Ice dock means where he sold ice for ice boxes ( few years ago)🥰😂
I bought the Ima stik pencil popper from EBay and a few others you recommended. Much appreciated I like them a lot! Do you have the IMA little stik or the big stik? The trebles seem a bit light wired for striper not sure if I should upgrade the hooks.
Use lighter jig heads, 1/2oz or 3/4oz.. it'll lesser the chances of getting snagged. But even then, it's hard to avoid the dead lines in there. Just have to fish it enough to have an idea of where the lines are. I've seen alot of people getting snagged and just cut the line off at the reel. Leaving a long line in the water. That's what we mostly get snagged on
@@watermelonpie2764 most people just use a 1/2oz- 2oz jig head with a white fluke. Unless there's toowater activity then they'll switch to topwater lures
Hi I want to plan someday to visit keystone dam to catch some stripes. It would be a 10 hr drive for me lol. Anyway, what is the best time of the year to come there and fish for them ?
Thanks for the reply. I’ve been looking for a while at getting my first “dam fishing” rod and spinning reel. It appears you have experience with several rods and reels. If I wanted to buy something good and cry once, what rod and reel pairings would you recommend I look at? Thank man!
@@anonymous_friend the model number is LEGSB1002HXHFS. I havnt tested the slammer 4. I do have the slammer 3 tho. Which I love and recommend. I'm sure the slammer 4 is just as good. Though the bg is way more affordable. It's a solid reel too. Very popular here.
@@anonymous_friend for dam fishing here. Everyone usually have 2 setup. A smaller 8'-9' rod for using jugheads in the currents. And big 10'-13' surf rods for distance. I currently use a 13' custom built cts rod, paird with a diawa saltiga for distance. A 9,6' st. Croix legend elite salmon and the legalis for shorter distance. If anything, the 11' cts paired with a visser reel is best all around setup.
Lots of action fishing and hard fighters too. Good video!
Thanks. When it's good. It gets pretty crazy. But most time it's a hit or miss
Bought the same set up, still do saving to buy Shimano stradic. Thank you Sir.
can't go wrong with the stradic.. I've had mines for a little over 2 years now. still very good
Wow, looks fun and exciting at the same time.
I’ve never fished below the dam but Keystone is my go to. Stripers in the morning, party cove in the afternoon.
Below the dam is good. Jist depends on water release tho
Bud light beer and spillway monsters. That was a good day.
Haha it's pretty fun when a few friends and family are also out there fishing and drinking.

What time of year was this, and what bait/rig? If you don't mind me asking. Thanks
Nice videos, where did you get your daiwa legalis sea bass rod? Thanks
This rod was given to me by my nephew. But I think they ordered it online. I think it's only in the Japanese and European market
@@sukieoutdoors7422 Thank you
Thanks for posting the current conditions. Just curious is the drum edible ❓
They are, it's just that people don't really eat them.

Great Video, What web did you buy the Diawa legalis can you share the links? Thanks
Thanks. The Rod was given to me. So I'm not sure where my uncles them bout it. But they did say that they ordered it from Japan.
There’s always those days where u get everything but a striper. Sad days lol, jus gotta keep trying next time haha
Yeah, I've had plenty of those days lol. Had 2 days of catfish and drums action.

I usually replace my hooks with single inline hooks. Seems to still get a good hook set and isn't as annoying to get off
As a kid before the dam was built we fished the Ark. River. Every year the farm where we lived would be flooded by the river.
Good Jobs 👍
When this dam was built in late 50’s it was estimated it would be full of sand in 20 years. How is it doing?
It's pretty rocky right below the dam. But there are sand all around.
What kind of jigs are you using ?
Nice catch bro sukie
Thanks brother. Lmk if ever you decide to visit Oklahoma
Nice! what is your line?
It's 15lb powerpro super slick
I keep getting snagged there any recommendations to prevent? even if this was 2 years ago thank you in advance.

For sure. Im usually out at keystone on weekends. Maybe once a week on weekdays haha. Lmk.
Great video! What lure and jig weight are you throwing? Do you use braid to leader? Thanks!

Also curious what the model number of your legalis rod is? Is the Penn slammer 4 a better reel than a Diawa BG?
