These are from my era, used to read Classics Illustrated, Walt Disney's characters, Hot Stuff, Casper, Wendy the Good Little Witch, My Favourite Martian, The Munsters, Dark Shadows and more. Lots of fun!
The ad with Roy Campenella might be worth more than the comic it was on. He was MVP catcher for Brookyln Dodgers....crippled at young age in auto accident...much loved and respected.
He was an awesome ballplayer and (more importantly) human being! When he died, Tommy Lasorda said "If Campy ain't in heaven, ain't none of us going to heaven."
Kudzu vines grew in the woods in the back yard . My brother was Tarzan ,sister was Jane And I was Cheetah the monkey . We spent hours climbing and swinging on That kudzu vines ...until Tarzan fell and broke his arm . It's a wonder we survived childhood .
That advert at the end for the bouncy putty I got that back in the late 70's by collecting Bazooka sweet wrappers and sending off for it. I think we had to add 20-30p but it was so much fun getting something through the post when you're a kid!
Same here! I saved up my hard earned money from chores, sent off for sea monkeys AND the "ex-ray see through glasses," and neither arrived..I was soooo hurt!😢
Some awesome stuff i have a lot of older dell and gold key used to see them alot more you do every once in awhile but I'm a 60s guy for just about everything and that includes comics
Nutty Putty/Silly Putty : as a kid in the 60s we used to press it flat over the Sunday comics and it would pull enough ink off the pages to “print” on to the putty’s face.
You had me at comics, Alex. You really need to check out those Blackhawk books. It's about a pilot of Native American ancestry who leads a squadron in World War II. They actually got some screen time in an episode of the Justice League animated series when the JLA were sent back to WWII to defeat Vandal Savage. Sgt. Rock and Easy Company also appear in that episode. But I'm rambling. That Thor 200 looks pretty good, along with that JLA and the Fantastic Four books. Great video!
I hope you do well with the comics! I don't know much about the value. Pretty much just remember reading Archie, Little Lulu, Richie Rich and maybe a couple of others. And those ads... I always wanted some sea monkeys 😂 and I remember being scared my brothers' friends had the binoculars where they could see through walls (into my room) 🤣
That Galactus cover of Fantastic four is cool. Lowest price I have seen, ungraded, is about $17.-, but graded it could be a few hundred bucks, depending on condition.
The third of the Tree Stooges changed a couple times. First, Curley replaced Shemp, then when Curley had a stroke, Shemp came back and took over for Curley. When Shemp died, Joe took his place.
My mother loved comic books. She had a dresser full from when she was a child. LuLu ,Dot ,Archie’s On and on. We would lay in her room for hours reading her comics. I hate to even say this sad line.... I wish we still had them. I don’t know what she did with them and the sea monkeys along with the X-ray glasses.
Classics Illustrated prices depend entirely on the printing, some were reprinted as much as 14 times.. and the late printings can be extremely cheap. The Tarzans are more interesting. No #1, but still nice lot. On the Amazing Spider-Man #1.. even a loose page from it has value. A Single page from Amazing Fantasy #15 with Spider-Man's first appearance sold for $1300 not long ago
I would add that you’re probably going to be lucky to get. Ore than $2-3 ft pr the classics Illustrated’s. Assuming they are all from 1953-1960. Some of those titles ate decent, even in their condition. Cool 10 & 12 cent covers are harder to find now, so they can be lucky finds!
Another 5.00 for the Heroic and U.S.Marines (each). I really love the old WWII comics. Key issues will go 15.00 to 25.00, like the first issue of Our Men at War that featured Sgt. Rock, etc.
Sorry, Alex. I did not see any home runs here. Only a tiny percentage of Gold Key, Dell, or Classics Illustrated have any value. During the pandemic, I went through thousands and thousands of comics and in the end, I only sent 36 off to be graded.
He's had it a while. They scare the heck out of me see so many burn up. I seen two people died the other day in a wreck and it went up like a furnace and they couldn't get the two people out.
I really enjoyed the Blackhawk, Superman, Tarzan, and Walt Disney comics in Grandma's attic from my uncles. This brought back some fond memories!
Love looking at older comic books 😊
I really like this. The tarzan look hilarious. Wish I could see what's inside. Thanks so much for sharing.
What a blast from the past. I loved the Classics Illustrated comics.

I've loved the ads in the backs of comics since I was a kid. Fascinating.
Hey , Alex! Great seeing you and your latest finds! Thanks for sharing! 💜💙💜
Alex, you are awesome and have picked & created a great & wonderful career ... carry on ...
This channel is really good! Thanks for the content 👍✌️
I love the Tarzan books showing his tan line from his watch. always on his left wrist 😂
Fun, good job Alex, thanks for sharing your adventures xoxo

Hi Alexander, I love old comics what a find I would look at all of them, hope you have good fortune with your latest find great 👍
Interesting comics. Hope you find an huge winner. ❤
Another amazing buy Alex
I love seeing the old artwork, the illustrators put ink to paper

Always fun seeing what you've found. I remember sending off for the "sea monkeys." They never arrived.
I never understood how the sea monkey "dad" could be smoking a pipe underwater ?? That was always depicted in the ad......
@@urbanurchin5930it only happens when your not looking, like the Warner brothers frog 🐸

Oh the puffy stickers, I had the 80’s version of that.
I really love vintage art. You really had to have some good talent back then.
You definitely have a selection of comic books. Hopefully you'll get a good price for all of them
Hello Alex. good to see you as always.

Apprears to be approx $300 USD for all.
Oh, I used to collect the Black Hawk comics... all gone likely now... and then there was Hot Stuff! I remember some of those books.
That Galactus cover of Fantastic four is cool. Lowest price I have seen, ungraded, is about $17.-, but graded it could be a few hundred bucks, depending on condition.
His book is about $15. Not nice enough to grade.
I like Tarzan stuff but I won’t be bidding I don’t trust them to get me my things. Thanks for the video hewaiting on the next one.
I had that group of classic illustrated books in my classroom. They came in pairs to encourage partner reading.
Your first trip was well worth it. I hope these comics are worth your effort, as well..🙃
Lots of great Tarzan beefcake there!
With some of those Tarzan covers I cant blame me them for collecting them 😂
Burton Cummings has an amazing comic book and record collection. It would be major cool if you could visit him and talk about his collection.
Can’t believe you bought more comics considering the dud your New York buy was. 😮
Mad did a parody of the Blackhawk comic. It's in the Bothers Mad paperback book, first printing 1953. It's called Black and Blue Hawks!
Alexander,
I believe Sean Connery was in the movie
"Darby O'Gill and the little people.
Cheers,
Rik
Yup a Disney production. It was Sean's first American movie. And indirectly got him the James Bond role

I think that the Superman comic you showed might be the first appearance of Alpha Centurion. If so... 💰
Great video 😊😊😊😊😊
Fox and Crow is a somewhat obscure comic. I had a couple of them growing up. Blackhawk was very good.
Hi, I see you have got a modern car now. Joined the Tesla family..
I was named after a comic book called Nyoka. I hope you find one!!
I saw the Darby O'Gill and the Little People movie when I was 12!
Good luck with your auction
you finally found some good comics :)
Man, you know your Stooges!😆
Lol you are obsessed 🤣 😂 😅
Puffy Stickers!!! I forgot all about puffy stickers 😂
Lol @ "The Oregon Trail" synopsis, haha.
Oh my gosh! I had some Nutty
Puddy!!!!!! And yes it bounced lol😂😂😂😂

Tarzan is actor Lex Barker. He followed Johnny Weissmuller.
Those Blackhawk comics are worth a ton of money.
Hi Alex Archbold👋🏻
🙋♀️❤ I never knew Alec Baldwin was Tarzan in disguise!😂
05:03 Don't care about the comic, but Campy! My dad was a Campanella fan. The Tarzan comics... will take a specialized buyer.
Enjoyed.
❤😊
🥰🥰
Thanks Alex!
The "Marvel's Greatest Comics" with the Fantastic Four and Galactus is a 70s reprint of the original Stan Lee/Jack Kirby series from the 60s.
Alex never mentions his Tesla car, at least not that I have ever seen.🤔
I'm cringing looking at those comics being bent in the binder. Lol
I came to say the same thing
4:47 Alex! I thought that was you on the cover.
Where do you find these comics at yard sales?
Those Tarzan covers are creepy. 🙈
Not one Jane cover, lol. You got a box of $2-5 buck books.
IF you ever run across Our Men at War, SGT Rock, or Haunted Tank comics, I would love to make an offer!
How about 5.00 for the Fighting Forces? I will pay shipping, too.
Another 5.00 for the Heroic and U.S.Marines (each). I really love the old WWII comics. Key issues will go 15.00 to 25.00, like the first issue of Our Men at War that featured Sgt. Rock, etc.
I loved the advertisements in the comics. Did you ever get the little ( monkeys) that you put in water, and they come alive?? Lol
Yes, they did! Only lasted a couple days.
😊
Covers may be missing because they had been thrown out and no longer for sale.
Any of the cars you got the other day end up in Alexander's collection ?
They were 12 cents when I was a kid.
Cool!
how are both those robin hood comics issue 7?
❤
Only recently discovered that all the stooges were actually brothers.
Just wondering what do you do with comics if they smell musty?
dryer sheets (unscented) can draw a lot of the smell out
Put some kitty litter in a box, stck some newspaper on top, then alternate newspaper and comics. You might have to replace newspaper once or twice.
@@drskull9 Thank you, we learn something new everyday.

Pardon me that trunk you just opened was a Tesla. What you had the charger and you just had to get the car that matched?
😂
I musta missed something - when did he get a Tesla? I knew he was putting in a charging station, but wasn't aware he already had one
He's had it a while. They scare the heck out of me see so many burn up. I seen two people died the other day in a wreck and it went up like a furnace and they couldn't get the two people out.

Timestamp on where you see the Tesla. Please and thank you

Lex Barker. Look him up.
Did you already tell us about your testla?
He mentioned it in a live a few weeks ago
Did I just see you pull those boxes out of a Tesla?
Yup :)
Did you ever get paid for all those comics you sent to New York?
red devil stills
The old ads in the back of those magazines are sometimes better than the book itself.
That was 2 minutes of commercials I couldn’t skip.
How did Tarzan keep his hair so nicely trimmed? 🤷😅
Well, waxing of course... :-)
.....I thought it was because Cheetah, the monkey had a salon around the corner......
للاسف نفتقد هذه المجلات في بلدنا .
You bought a Tesla? I missed that episode (I can't often watch your livestream updates.)
He made it in a live a few weeks ago
I see a tesla when did that happen
He talked about getting it 2 or 3 weeks ago.
