    • @mandisaw
      @mandisaw 2 года назад +2

      Wyoming is a bifurcated economy - you've got a lot of poor people who need services, but vote Republican, and a handful of very rich people who don't want to pay taxes, and so vote Republican. And then add the various Native populations, with their own political & economic struggles.
      They probably get a "taste" from all these crypto companies, plus jobs, which is why they are pushing this so hard.

    • @canadian97
      @canadian97 2 года назад

      If Wyoming has barely any taxes, my guess is they depend on federal transfers to survive. In all likelihood, they get more from the federal government than what they paid to it.

    That dude saying code runs DAOs is guessing what a dao is. That is not at all what a dao is and its not autonomous. They use decentralized governance and the comunity runs and governs the DAO via token voting. If you own the governance token you get one vote on every proposal. Autonomous is a terrible name and it does not fit. Running a dao is very involved. Hundreds of proposals and everything is voted on by the comunity. Then we have to implement the decisions. Autonomous should never have been put in the name. Just decentralized organization. Its run very similar to a union. Instead of a board running the company its all the stock holders, and we can have this control because of blockchain tecknology.

  • @DouglasButner

    Around 5:30 she concludes that digital assets are property, claiming that this represents the technology, but it doesn't at all. In terms of tangible assets, you really only "own" information that is your private key. While that private key can authenticate you to change state representing an asset transfer, it doesn't mean you ever have possession of any tokens, or they were ever moved into our out of your possession (as defined by an account that you control with a private key). This is because the assets are controlled by another private key, the one from the smart contract defining the token.
    So, the property is really on the smart contract, unless you have "destroyed keys" or a "coin" not a "token" that represents a l1 blockchain and is not governed by a changeable contract.
    Stoked for all the work, but this really shows that the people writing the legislation may not have the tech knowledge to understand what is a blockchain or how the assets on them work, not to mention the vast differences between an EVM and an EOSIO based chain.

    • @DouglasButner
      @DouglasButner 2 года назад +1

      Overall, the general ignorance can be defined as an assumption that "blockchain" is one thing, and therefore all of crypto operates the same way. For one example of why this is dangerous, there's some blockchains that allow for contracts to be modified, and others that aren't. This is a HUGE consideration, as ASSETS are OWNED by CONTRACTS and PERMISSIONED to be transferred around by that contract.
      There's assets backed on other assets. There's Liquidity pools. There's so much that they aren't accounting for.
      Also, not all crypto is POW (needs a lot of electricity)

    That's impressive & progressive.

    It is pretty amazing that anyone who puts in the time to research crypto and blockchain, then understands why it is the future. A lot of people didn't understand the internet at the beginning either. Unlike the dawning of the internet, there are plenty of ways to educate yourself about crypto. Many in the developed world with a stable currency (where many are speculating) cannot understand how the rest of the world uses crypto - research to see why. The crypto ecosystem isn't even close to perfect and is still in its infancy, but after 12 years crypto is already disrupting the traditional banking system that is hundreds of years old. All you have to do is do some research and then you can decide if you want in on the future, or will hold on to the current system.

      We’ll said
      People don’t understand Innovations then one day everyone is using it
      The early days of the internet people said it was a fad and wouldn’t last now we practically live our lives online the liberation of information was the internet and blockchain technology is the next step of that liberation
      Every innovation we take for granted today started life with Criticism

    I would too claim to be libertarian when Wyoming is basically a welfare state funded by the federal govt. I love how republicans claim to be libertarians but support corporations that are no doubt hostile towards middle americans. Yea you don't want govt impending on your lives but it's ok if a corporation does. Classic republican grifting. Total hypocrites.
