  • A Low Pass Over the NASA Space Shuttle Landing Facility!
    Probably one of the coolest things to do in an airplane in Florida is fly over the shuttle landing strip. Watch this program and find out how surprisingly easy this is to do. Fly over the same runway that the Space Shuttle used to land at NASA. You get a first hand view of what the shuttle astronauts saw when they returned back to earth. Once you have done this you can say, " I know what that looks like!"

    You could do at least 4 or 5 touch-and-goes, just on one approach!!

    Pretty cool! I actually went flying today for the first time since December. My flight was less eventful though.

    Very cool!
    I live near Edwards AFB and had an great aunt that worked at Edwards, I watched the first 5 shuttle landings with VIP credentials when I was a kid.

    Not a lot of tire marks on the strip. Relatively clean. ;-)

    I love your enthusiasm! Nice video! Looked a little choppy during the low pass. I am assuming TNGs are prohibited.

      farmgene Yes touching goes are prohibited and it was really windy during our path and it was a quarter and tailwind so it was just choppy thanks for watching !

    Another great video, and curious what was your cruise altitude in route to the fly over? Always hard to judge watching on an IPad but you looked pretty low to me!

      Will we were at 2500 on the way over - thanks for watching!

      @@Over50andLearningToFly Yea looked lower but let me ask you this respectfully, when you were over the water did you have enough distance to glide safely to land? And if not I didn't see any life vests visable. Just curious, not being critical!

      @Over50andLearningToFly  4 года назад

      @@in2flying Yes- we could have easily glided across but in that situation a water landing near shore would be the safest best- that is all forest and thick brush on both sides- makes for a bad rescue :-) Thanks for watching!
