You would need a lot more rebar to meet code if it was being built in Florida
We had to meet the code of the company that is going to build the garage. Then they came out to approve it.

On the blueprint of the house. 2:56 Is that a sliding door from the mudroom to the laundry room? RV garage. Friends of mine looked at a house with an RV garage. It was climate controlled and had stairs and a walkway so the guy could clean off the top of the RV with a water hose. Had a mess of other stuff to make it easier to work on the RV.
Yes, a pocket door from the mudroom to the laundry room and a pocket door from the laundry room to the master toilet area. Easy access from the RV garage. Sounds like your friend had a very cool set up. Wish I could afford AC in there. Plans now are to buy a 5 foot floor fan.
Getting there won't be long and the walls will be going up
Now that the rain has stopped, we can get this house going. Can't wait for it to be waterproof.

Slab is less expensive. But sometimes, we wonder if we should have gone with a crawl space. But we didn't want any steps.

Now we've started , I'm liking the size of both floor plans, can't wait to see the next instalment , what sort of time frame is to be expected on a build like this ? As you know Karen English homes are different and usually mainly brick built with exceptions so watching this will be really interesting for me . Can't wait to watch it all coming together...exciting times for you guys
Our builder says he things we can be in by the end of October. We aren't going to hold our breath just yet. :)
