They rely on him and he feels like he needs to shoulder as many burdens as he can for their sake. So him wanting to try to make things right by getting the key to use to go home works super well as a strong motivation. But then there's noah who also has a lot to lose. He has a family which relies on him, giving him a strong sense of responsibility just like prime. But he doesn't trust that prime will be able to keep the key safe after seeing him be defeated by scourge as well as how he aptly put it "i aint trusting my home to someone who couldnt protect his own", so noah wants the key to dispose of it and take matters of protecting his family into his own hands. It's solid shit
Facts the Mcguffin plot is simple but the characters is what made it more then just another mcguffin chase and it’s a shame people don’t give the movie credit for that

The Beast Wars box sets were the first ones I ever owned. It makes me happy to know there's finally a decent movie following in the tradition of one of my favorite shows.
I enjoyed it as both a Transformers fan and a Beast Wars fan. The Autobots got a lot of great character moments and their action scenes were a ton of fun to watch. Airazor and Primal definitely got the bulk of the screentime which I liked but Cheetor and Rhinox were definitely lacking a lot of lines sadly (even though they were cool to see). Overall I thought it was great and hopefully the franchise gets better from here.
considering in bumblebee the decepticons killed one person, while its shown scourge had killed multiple already sets expectations that scourge and his gang are much stronger than the decepticons, which was shown
@@aetheriox463 the decepticons actually did what they are called and used deception to work with the humans. your smooth brain assumes that because they just didnt start blasting everything they are weaker.

Optimus should have at least lost an arm. -The way nightbird died was just lazy -Elena was such a nuiscance during the airrazor and primal fight. Primal is trying to protect her but she keeps getting closer to the fight trying to kill herself or something -there was this funny scene where after scourge and optimus were talking how one of them will be burried on earth, the camera zooms out and show that they were so far from each other they shouldnt even be able to hear each others voices let alone have a conversation. -dont know why mirage exposed noah and elena's position on the bridge. If he just kept his mouth shut and distract scourge they could have switch off the portal in a second. -why did mirage use his body as a meat shield for noah when he could have just picked him up and run away. -their guns do no damage to each other lol -why was the bomb thrown by nightbird in the museum fight not kill noah and elena and just produced a shockwave. Paramount CGI artist here. Part of the reason these movies have such an emphasis on humans is do to budget and time. It takes a long time to animate the transformers and scenes with humans allow for less money on the animation and not overworking us artists.
I was always into Transformers because of the cars (all the movies seem to have an emphasis on this) and this movie is no exception. I think they did the best job with the cars in this movie. The cars are meant to be the disguise so it’s nice that the most flashy car is a Porsche, or the deception Skyline, rather than a sci-fi concept Corvette or a Lamborghini or Bugatti or whatever.
This movie did a decent job lowering the human's being a burden. Noah and Leah actually pull their weight and it's great. I'm hoping we see more of the maximals in what I imagine is gonna be a sequel to this.
They finally made the Transformers into good characters and then somehow didn't spend enough time with them. Cheetor and Rhinox barely speak. The movie was over so quickly, I hope they can make more movies because this movie was so much fun. Like a 2 hour Saturday morning cartoon.
I've been waiting for this as even though TFP is my favorite transformers show I also absolutely loved Beast Wars and I've been so hyped for it and im glad to say that I wasn't disappointed at least
The thing that really threw me off, especially from watching the original beast wars is some weird plot emphasis the movie had that they never followed up on. Without spoiling too much the things that really confused me and felt unused regarded scourge and 1. Unicron owning the terracons “souls” 2. The vehicle that scourge tranformed into 3. Everyone being from the distant future 4. Mirage ripping off the mask of scourge. Where the plot slowed down to a face reveal of no consequence. 5. The decepticon badges in scourges trophy case It felt like they were building up to a plot point with a big identity reveal of scourge then decided against using the plot point at all, but they didnt want the animation/cgi to go to waste. The mask breaking off his face really bothers me
I read somewhere that his face was supposed to show a face similar to Optimus prime. It was gonna be a multi-verse type thing where scourge was a different version of Optimus from the future who was evil.
Unicron owning terrorcons souls isn't a new thing though, Sideways was completely controlled by Unicron in Armada, Unicron in G1 mentally tortured Galvatron to show him he has complete control over him, the time travel I dunno, I didn't get the notion they time travelled, just that Maximals and their planet in this new continuity are similar to cybertronian colony worlds with different types of transformers shown in TF Cybertron show
Spoilers Anybody else have a problem with the fact that they just found some random stones perfectly preserved in peru and all they had to do was rotate a few of them and it opened up the whole temple? Surely somebody else would have tried that before..
The problem with this film was the lack of characterization. In Bumblebee, there were only 5 characters to introduce (Bumblebee, the 2 villains, and 2 human leads) which allowed for plenty of screentime for each character. In Rise of The Beasts they had to introduce a shit ton of more characters (Mirage, 2 human leads, Optimus Prime, 3 other autobots, 4 maximals, 3 terracons, and unicron). This disrupts any sort of connection to form with the characters leading the viewer to not be fully invested in the final battle. For the Transformers: The lack of depiction causes each character to be boring. The main character Optimus Prime in this film has 0 personality and comes off as a bland stereotypical leader. Whereas the main character in Bumblebee has specific attributes and qualities such as his courage, his optimism, and his compassion that the viewer really gets to witness in his interactions with Charlie Villain Problem: The villains literally have 0 persoanlity besides just wanting to take over the Earth. In conclusion, I believe this film had the potential to be quite good if they had solidified each significant character before going into the film. Had they made an Optimus Prime solo movie and solo movie on the beasts, the viewers would've actually cared about the final battle. This movie shares many similarities with the first Avengers movie (2012). The only difference is that each avenger had their own solo outings prior to the film allowing the viewers to gain a connection with the characters.
There were quite a few smooth-brain moments from some of the characters. For example, the Maximals (namely the first one that stalls for time) don't Maximise when they first fight scourge. Mirage can give Noah a glove with a laser that 1 shots minions, but doesn't 1 shot the minions chasing Noah and Elana out of the museum. Etc, etc. That said, I liked the movie overall, flaws and all. Noah and Mirage's relationship was super cute. Edit: Also, when I saw Scourge, I just keep getting reminded of Ultron. Idk why.
To be honest when Charlie talks about fake out deaths… it’s been really grinding my gears, because ALOT of movies have been contributing this into their stories and now I don’t even expect anyone to die, examples… I heard about Fast n Furious, Guardians of the Galaxy, some tv shows have this too, I’m tired of the bs, they try to play with peoples emotions, but in the end they miraculously survive, so nothing to me ever seems like a high stakes because in the end some how everyone just survives and lives happily ever after
When I watched the movie, after all the character introductions, I thought that all Autobots except Bumblebee and Optimus (and some Maximals) will die lol.
gotg 3 did it pretty well because it was already handling heavy themes the entire movie. in rotb, i think none of us cared about airazor or mirage since we didn't even get to bond with them lmao
One thing that I haven't seen talked about that kinda sorta bothered me was the last 20 minutes of the movie is literally the end of Iron Man 1 but with some transformers. Even has the Nick Fury Avengers initiative scene at the end but with Hasbro properties subbed in for Marvel properties.
I really enjoyed the film. It flowed really well, and you really rooted for autobots, maximals, and humans. Agree they should have given more time to the beasts. I loved beasts wars as a kid and so wanted them more. But the fight scenes were so good.
I think the thing that pisses me off the most is that they give everyone arm cannons when they had guns in the last one especially since it was a thing that made bumble bee unique cuz he was the only one who did that, even in the bay movies they all had guns. It wouldn’t be that big of a deal if the cannons were cool looking but the actual guns they had looked infinitely cooler than the arm cannon
Prime handled this the best. Everyone has arm cannons, but guns still exist because they can fire at different rates, or different powers, or be more powerful than the arm cannons are.
I’m not a transformers fan at all but I actually really enjoyed this film, I’d watch any future sequels to this film as I liked the characters they made

@@M_k-zi3tn definitely. This movie gave way too much screen time with the humans. They’re like able but that’s not why I came to see the movie. And also the character of Optimus feels weird. If people said he felt bloodthirsty in the bay verse movies he is way worse here. Optimus also feels extremely incompetent throughout the whole movie constantly failing at everything while also just getting angered way too easily. I know it’s a part of the movie that he fells like failed but I feel bay verse prime did a better job at portraying an Optimus tiered of war and conflict while also not feeling completely incompetent to be the leader of the auto bots.

Love how charlie complain is basically we need more maximals but i agree kinda feel they gave them the dinobots threatment where the whole movie got marketed with them and they only appear at the end
SPOILERS!! [10:32] I absolutely loved the movie personally, but I know exactly what you're talking about. While watching I was thinking "why didn't the Maximals just destroy the Trans-Warp Drive?". Having just seen a video digging on the film with a bunch of points that are just bad, this video actually has valid criticisms--even though that other one used a clip of Charlie to try and agree with what they were saying--but it doesn't ruin my enjoyment. The movies isn't high art or anything, but it's (in my opinion at least) an upgrade from the past for the most part, and certainly better than a lot coming out recently. Yet another example of Charlie having an opinion of a movie I love that, while far more critical (holy shit), doesn't ruin my appreciation for it. Like the recent Godzilla movies from Warner Bros.: I liked those, but I agree with Charlie's criticisms and am not gonna shit myself because he's mean about a movie I enjoyed. I like artistic cinema, but sometimes a fun movie is enough to keep you busy when you need it the most.
The thing about this movie is, complain about it all anybody wants, its the most faithful live action movie to ALL of transformers preexisting lore. Not like that preexisting lore was ever logically sound through and through to begin with, but still real transformers fans know that it was made by actual fans this time, and not just name slapping a whole bunch of shit from the past and turning it into whatever the fuck they wanted it to be. with the exception of whoever tf wheeljack was in this movie
Charlie saying that the fights in the older movies looked like two soda cans colliding made me laugh by how bad that take was. The old fights looked great in my opinion. I'm glad to hear that the newest film wasn't a complete botch and did the job of putting Transformers on the live screen well.
a couple of those fights looked pretty bad but it wasn't the choreography. it was the camera angles so I could see why some would like them and why some wouldn't
In the bay verse I felt like there was so many changing camera angles and slow motion it felt like someone was recording a school fight and can only see the good parts
The old movies def had a bigger spectacle aspect and grand scale for fights(the robots were almost double the height of the current ones) but you’re absolutely delusional if you chose to ignore how much better and way more clean (WAYYYYY more clean and visually directed) the current fights are. This movie def topped any previous transformers movies in terms of that and writing. Arguably the best one but 07 and transformers 3 are up there. Though personally the human character make RoTB an easy top 1 to me. The ones in bay verse were an abomination of writing
The fights in the original bay trilogy could be messy sometimes but they were definitely still fun. I think it's just a design thing honestly im happy with the new design style theyre using since bumblebee
What are you talking about? The original fights were very bad. It was just a bunch of grey metallic blobs mashing together so fast you couldn't even tell what was happening
One thing I did have to complain about my experience in the theaters, is the fact that there were two teenage sisters that were sitting next to me literally whispering to each other that the movie is bad and it fucking sucks, it was getting annoying to the point where around the museum fight, thier older brother had to walk up to them and tell them "If Y'all Hate The Movie, Then Get The Hell Out Of Here", which thankfully they left, and thier older brother and his friend sat next to me and my family and they liked the movie and I became friends with them, I absolutely enjoyed the movie 9.5/10 for me.😊 (Also my theater was packed with people)
that's what i love about having a drive-in near me, you don't have to put up with annoying people. cars are pretty sound proof and our drive-in uses a small radio tower so it comes through your car speakers. that and my car seats are more comfortable that what the theaters have.
Totally agree with what they did with the Maximals, I didn't really have any connection with beast wars and i do prefer the robots transforming into vehicles rather than animals but despite their small screentime i loved the Maximals in this movie and i only wished there was more to them cuz they felt underutilized, man was Primal a badass
Bruv, agreed, I absolutely LOVED BEASTWARS, growing up! Especially how smart the dialogue and character interactions were given how skimpy the cast was, I mean originally you only had Optimus Primal, Rhinox, Cheetor and Rat trap for the ENTIRE Maximal lineup, and almost as many Predacons, yet the writing is so exemplary, that this seldom poses a limitation! I loved Beast wars almost beginning to end, especially when you take into account how amazing some of the subject matter was, like for example take "Transmutate" and "Fallen Warrior" two episodes that deal with a Robot exhibiting mental health issues and another dealing with the idea of sacrificing one's life for others... Just WOW! 2 OF MY FAVOURITE EPS and it's no wander that Beast Wars was a standout from the other offerings at the time!
I kinda see why they made it a basic story line so they can test the waters and see if this franchise is worth returning to and after this movie I hope they do return to it and go more in depth with the maximals and unicron
As an advid fan of Transformers, this movie was one of the corniest ones in the series. It feels as if ten year old me wrote it. Seriously, things just happened for the sake of happening.
Fr. Like so many things happened and I was just boggled that they did. Spoilers below. Like when two guards are shown turning away from the closing door at the museum, and yet dont hear Noah even enter. How could they not have heard him!? It was literally back-to-back shots! Also, Noah told his little brother, a CHILD to wait outside in New York, and we never see how he ends up. The suit gimmick was cringe. I dunno
I really agree. Everything about it was so corny, cartoonish, and childish. From the robot designs, to the one-liners, to the basic dialogues, to the "sad" scenes, and to the plot, it's definitely made for children.

I loved that show as well! Still is my favorite show despite all the newer shows coming out
The thing that really threw me off, especially from watching the original beast wars is some weird plot emphasis the movie had that they never followed up on. Without spoiling too much the things that really confused me and felt unused regarded scourge and
1. Unicron owning the terracons “souls”
2. The vehicle that scourge tranformed into
3. Everyone being from the distant future
4. Mirage ripping off the mask of scourge. Where the plot slowed down to a face reveal of no consequence.
5. The decepticon badges in scourges trophy case
It felt like they were building up to a plot point with a big identity reveal of scourge then decided against using the plot point at all, but they didnt want the animation/cgi to go to waste. The mask breaking off his face really bothers me
Hasbro has already announced 3 films, rise of the beasts may be the first in a trilogy
I think the mask breaking off is supposed to show how less threatening he's becoming since they have gained a little more of a upper hand
I read somewhere that his face was supposed to show a face similar to Optimus prime. It was gonna be a multi-verse type thing where scourge was a different version of Optimus from the future who was evil.
@@brunomillalaf8553 glad that was scrapped. Not every franchise needs to have a multiverse.

Whereas the main character in Bumblebee has specific attributes and qualities such as his courage, his optimism, and his compassion that the viewer really gets to witness in his interactions with Charlie
Villain Problem: The villains literally have 0 persoanlity besides just wanting to take over the Earth.
Idk why.

The movies isn't high art or anything, but it's (in my opinion at least) an upgrade from the past for the most part, and certainly better than a lot coming out recently.

a couple of those fights looked pretty bad but it wasn't the choreography. it was the camera angles so I could see why some would like them and why some wouldn't
@@abyss610 sounds nice. Makes me sad their are very few. At least around where I live. Im pretty sure the closest one to me is a hour away.
As a fan of Bayformers, Transformers Prime and Transformers Animated, I enjoyed this movie. It was fun and entertaining.
finally a respectful bay fan glad you enjoyed it❤
Totally agree with what they did with the Maximals, I didn't really have any connection with beast wars and i do prefer the robots transforming into vehicles rather than animals but despite their small screentime i loved the Maximals in this movie and i only wished there was more to them cuz they felt underutilized, man was Primal a badass
Charlie is such a beast among machines.
Just watched it today was pretty good
There's no way u watched the whole thing it just uploaded
😭😭😭😭😭
@@shankem_bruv2315 he meant the movie smartypants
@@shankem_bruv2315 he means the movie im pretty sure
@@shankem_bruv2315 he obv didnt mean the vid bro
@@shankem_bruv2315 think they meant they watched the movie today 😭😭😭
I kinda see why they made it a basic story line so they can test the waters and see if this franchise is worth returning to and after this movie I hope they do return to it and go more in depth with the maximals and unicron
unicron is getting a movie trilogy with this as the first one, this is going to be good
Ok the flying bad guy or what ever her name is is literally blown to bits
Literally just left the theater. Great movie.
This is my favorite transformers movie thus far, but it needed to be a little longer for such a big cast
I won’t lie, this is some of the most fun I’ve had watching a movie since the bumblebee movie
For people who do not know: this is a reboot - the Bumblebee movie was the first movie of the Rebooted Cannon
I always loved the beast wars story line. The idea that they went back and time and then go into the future to find cybertron taken over was so good!
Any day Charlie mentions his award winning role in The Hunger Games Mockingjay is a good day.
If they gave transformers movies an R rating and some S+ tier writers we would be eating good
Transformers is my favourite franchise ever. Even with age of extinction I loved it. Lockdown is my favourite transformer. So I’m always nervous when they release a new movie.
They had A LOT of call backs that I wasn’t expecting
Beast Wars was a legit good show. Dinobot's whole redemption arc was amazing.
