Perhaps the Greatest love tribute in music history. John Lennon stayed true to his love. Sadly tragedy broke this bond. John. We love you will keep your music going ❤️

No other song I have ever heard is more personal and honest about his love than this song, but, then, it is John Lennon.

The dude really loved her, thats for sure. This was right before the end and it's obvious how at ease and content he finally was.

As a 71-year-old who has adored this group and its solo members since discovering them in 1963, I love the fact that you're working on picking up those puzzle pieces. I assure you it will be a rewarding romp!

"What Is The World Without Women, It Is Not".... I believe that is the most profoundly honest comment I've heard you say, after all the very intelligent insightful things I've heard from you. Inspired by John Lennon makes me smile, again.

John and Yoko did the video of them walking through Central Park for the "Double Fantasy" album before it came out. The scene's of her by herself was in February, 2 months after he died.

This is a song for all the Women in your life Men. Your Mothers, Sisters, Girlfriends, Wives, Daughters. We’d do anything to protect them and keep them safe, and close. Maybe we should let them know how much we love and value their gift into our lives. Just thinking out loud.

The album Double Fantasy was released in November 1980,only about a month before his murder.Woman was released January 1981.He and Yoko put a lot of work into this album,it is a tragedy that he was murdered, also wasn't able to see the success of the work they shared. The album had some great songs on it.

Not only that, alot people don't notice that though the song is John's tribute to Yoko, the video was Yoko's tribute to John. It was made after his death. In it she includes the news paper photo of her and their friend David Geffen, leaving the hospital, surrounded by reporters after John was pronounced dead. Then there's the photo of John signing an autograph for his killer, hours before his murder. The video then has an earlier album cover photo of John lying on his back, which transitions to a photo of him lying in the morgue. I admire the strength it must've took her to make this video, only weeks after his death.

John described the song as a sequel to his Beatles song "Girl". Video was put together by Yoko and released on Valentine's Day after John's murder. At about the 3:00 mark is a tabloid photographer's (ghouls) picture of John in the morgue.

If you want to dive into the history of the Beatles and then them solo, it's a long and complicated history. I've made it one of my goals in life long ago to know everything I could about all of it. I have half a bookcase dedicated to books on the Beatles (and John specifically). You will likely hear a lot of untruths about them and especially about John and Yoko. Bottom line is that everyone in his life betrayed him, didn't want him, abandoned him. Yoko helped him on his journey to becoming a better person. Despite what a lot of people will say, he was honest, and a gentle and sensitive soul. You have to dive deep to see it.

After John was murdered by a lunatic the city dedicated a section of Central Park to John, calling it “Strawberry Fields". A Mosaic saying “IMAGINE” was placed there. (Look It Up). I visited several times. I stood in the spot John was at when he was shot. I touched the Brass Door Knob on the gate going into the Dakota Hotel knowing John had touched it many times. It is a memory that still gives my a chill.

The Beatles broke up because they had grown up and their lives had changed. They were focused on themselves and their lives and not on being "Beatles". John, George and Ringo were married, John had met Yoko and Paul had met Linda. Their focus' had changed, just as anyone changes between the ages of 20/22 and 27/29.

    "Woman"
For the other half of the sky
    Woman, I can hardly express
My mixed emotions at my thoughtlessness
After all, I'm forever in your debt
And woman, I will try express
    My inner feeling and thankfulness
For showing me the meaning of success
    Ooh, well, well
    Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
    Ooh, well, well
    Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
    Woman, I know you understand
The little child inside the man
Please remember my life is in your hands
And woman, hold me close to your heart
However distant, don't keep us apart
After all it is written in the stars
    Ooh, well, well
    Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
    Ooh, well, well
    Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo, well
    Woman, please let me explain
I never meant to cause you sorrow or pain
So let me tell you again, and again, and again
I love you, yeah, yeah, now and forever
I love you, yeah, yeah, now and forever
I love you, yeah, yeah, now and forever
I love you, yeah, yeah, now and forever

My eyes still tear up when I hear this song. Besides taking away someone from his family and loved ones, the monster who murdered him sliced a huge part of goodness and love from the world. Either one of these things would be enough reason to hate him. Combined together, I hope his soul is extinguished from this universe forever. I'm not too passionate about this am I? lol

We still pay to keep the killer alive, I'd use my bare hands to do what should have been done moments after he committed one of the worst assassinations ever.

Imagine, a love song written for you by John Lennon. ~sigh~ The nakie pictures were from their famous "Bed In" for peace as their protest against the Vietnam war.
There was much contention surrounding the arrival of Yoko on The Beatles. John started bringing her to their sessions which the other guys didn’t appreciate. The rumor is that she’s the reason the Beatles broke up but there were other tensions going on… mainly between the egos of John & Paul. But I think Yoko wasn’t helping matters at all.

As far as the Beatles breakup is concerned, the beginning of the end is when their manager, Brian Epstein , died in 1967 from a sleeping pill overdose. Brian was not only their manager who had been with them from the early days when he agreed to manage them, he was their babysitter...problem solver, father figure etc. When Brian died, reality kicked in and John basically said we're screwed. They were left flapping in the wind, and tried to manage themselves, which was a complete disaster!
The Beatles brought different people in to help, but they were hemorrhaging money and spending like drunken sailors. The story goes on and on, and I'm not even skimming the tip of the iceberg here, but it's fascinating nonetheless.
