So Hey Bulldog is one of my top Beatles songs. They have so many that it's hard to rank them, but Hey Bulldog is very unique and must be recognized as one of their many influential songs on the rock genre. For those who don't know this tune enjoy this experience! Great bass line, great vocals and I love the lyrics. "If you're lonely you can talk to me!" Paul McCartney is one of the greatest bass players in the world. Come Together is the ULTIMATE showcase and it’s John being bluesy as hell. The new cartoon video is the best- it really reflects the music perfectly. ❤.
I was blessed to grow up with the Beatles. I was nervously clutching my Capitol 45 of "I Want to Hold Your Hand"/"I Saw Her Standing There" (with the picture sleeve) at age five in February 1964, watching their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan, and realizing that they were even more exciting to see on TV than they were to hear on the radio or on records. I remember each year of elementary school by which Beatles records came out that year. The Beatles also prompted a renaissance of pop and rock music from 1964 through the early '70s -- incredible writing, playing, production. I was blessed to hear all of it. It was incredibly VARIED. Sinatra and country records got onto the Top 40, along with rock, soul, Motown, surf, instrumentals, folk-rock. It was a great education!
I have LOVED "HEY BULLDOG" ever since it was released! It is in my top 5 Beatles songs. I have been a fan since the very beginning when I was 16 years old when first heard "I Want To Hold Your Hand" on the day it was released on U.S. radio, Dec. 26, 1963.
For the true Beatles fans, those who grew up listening to them and watching them grow musically with every new record we love all their songs, each one has a meaning and a memory attached to it. Their rise really began with A Hard Day's Night, the first record with music composed entirely by Lennon and McCartney and from then on only their own music and Harrison's and even Ringo. The Beatles were geniuses, one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. They will live forever 🙏 We just love the Beatles.
When they first hit the US back in 1964 it was the look along with the music . They had long hair and men is the US at that time had crew cuts . The look was part of it for a while . . As Steve Van Zant once said , it was no less dramatic than aliens landing on the planet . I guess you had to be there . It was such a shock , in a good way of course.
I'm so appreciate your reaction to Hey Bulldog. I'm a first generation Beatles fan. Growing up with them. Take a deep dive, friend. Plenty of interesting music from The Beatles. ❤
Pete Best was the drummer before Ringo joined the band. Stuart Sutcliffe was John’s best friend from art school, and he played bass for a while, but left to pursue his career as an artist. He died of a brain tumor when he was 23 or so. John, Paul, George, and Ringo. The Beatles.
"Hey Jude" "Revolution" "A Day in the Life" "I Am the Walrus" "Let It Be" "Strawberry Fields Forever" "Here, There and Everywhere" "Come Together" "Here Comes the Sun" "Get Back" "All You Need is Love" - a few of their classics, IMHO. The inspired songwriting, the magically intuitive groove, the into-your-soul vocals - no band has even come close to even being a shadow of the Beatles..
One of my favorites and WOW I can really hear the Bass on this recording. Freaking amazing and genius choice of Bass phrasing. Paul!! Only seen one other reaction to this. Keep ahead of your competition and check out NOWHERE MAN!! It's on The Yellow Submarine album and movie. Might be a video?? 🔊 MARCO!! I'm keeping an eye out now!! Great Reaction! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼
This song was basically made impromptu in the studio. Quite the rocker, somehow they got it going and came down to Paul's dogs barking. Ringo said they were in a closet size studio and this came out.
That part with the barking at the end was spontaneous. Paul started and John was able to join in to create what you heard here. The chemistry between them was simply amazing

It’s a great song of theirs I was unaware of for a long time. Was on the Yellow Submarine movie album, which I’d avoided. But it was nice to discover a new song when I thought I knew them all.
Yes exactly! The journey you're going on is so incredibly important. I've been a musician since my very first memories. But not only have I played in bands and composed things and recorded things and collaborated with people and all of that stuff, including a modern classical symphony, I also consider myself to be a musicologist. I'm deeply in love with the evolution of music and music itself, which means not only do I like to play music, I also like to listen to it. Although I usually do so from the point of a musician. You rattled off a list of the disparate genres that you're exploring, and I'm so impressed. I just think that is an absolute and deeply meaningful gift that you are giving to yourself. ❤❤❤❤❤ Hey Bulldog is one of my all-time favorite Beatles songs, and like Lynyrd Skynyrd and CCR, The Beatles are one of those bands that I literally like every song they ever did. I have deeply loved it since I first encountered it in Junior high. And the message in it is just so cool. And I love when all the guys are riffing at the end as if they are talking to a bulldog, and then they all just devolve into making dog sounds and laughing maniacally, and it just puts a huge smile on my face every time. 😂😂😂
When President Obama hosted Paul McCartney at the White House back in 2010, I still remember his words about popular music: "Other groups may have opened the door, but they (The Beatles) blew the walls down and changed the way we listened to music." Hey Bulldog is one of many songs that defined a generation and it great to see new folks enjoy their work and share with everyone else. Just subscribed!
Hey Bulldog is a highly underrated Beatles gem. You hit a lot of the best aspects right off the bat. Lot of joy here. Argument over who did the solo. Throw in Starr's slushy drumming with that echo, these guys fill so much space.
Yo bro thanks for this reaction it was so cool. The song was recorded on February 11, 1968, way before The White Album recording sessions. There's another song recorded in February 1968: Lady Madonna, this was the last single recorded under Capitol/Parlophone record labels. From Hey Jude onward, they decided to record under Apple Corps.

The first all-female band to win an American recording contract, FANNY, covered this song, and the Beatles approved of it!
Pete Best was the drummer before Ringo, and Stu Sutcliff was a friend of John's who only played with them for a short time before leaving the band to continue his Art School studies.
John never called it a throwaway. John dug the song and wanted it to be their next single replacing Lady Madonna according to Geoff Emerick.
@@gettinhungrig8806 "...But Lennon seems slightly dismissive of it in the interview. "It's a good-sounding record that means nothing - nice lick on the piano and all that."
Poor Stu suffered a brain hemorrhage only a few months after leaving the group and sadly passed away.
@@MacDaddyBankshe was often like that towards a lot of his stuff
Polo, you’re the greatest. Love seeing you discover Classic Rock.
Just discovering you! I can’t tell you how fun it is to watch someone of a younger generation truly appreciating these guys! They were EVERYTHING to us in the 60’s!
A great underrated song of theirs is "And Your Bird Can Sing." Give it a whirl!
The Beatles were so far ahead. Hey Bulldog is hidden gem! It came out on the Yellow Submarine album and was the last recording they all did together in 1969. Love it!
Lennon wrote this on piano as a response to McCartney writing lady Madonna
Hey Bulldog was recorded on the 11th of February 1968
Paul McCartney is one of the greatest bass players in the world.
Come Together is the ULTIMATE showcase and it’s John being bluesy as hell. The new cartoon video is the best- it really reflects the music perfectly. ❤.
Definitely one of my favorite Beatles tunes!!! Paul's bass playing is insane!
When you heard the dogs bark we actually saw the ghost of a smile.
Very Well put ! That's what it's about making your soul smile ! THAT'S a good reason why the Beatles are timeless !
I have been a fan since the very beginning when I was 16 years old when first heard "I Want To Hold Your Hand" on the day it was released on U.S. radio, Dec. 26, 1963.
So glad you’re savoring Beatles’ brilliance! I think their discography will continue to blow your mind!
All Beatles songs are phenomenal Polo!
“No-where Man..Oh Darling..Come Together..Warm Gun,
So much, so many..ALL of them..even Maxwells Silver Hammer!
That is a guilty pleasure lol.
They will live forever 🙏
We just love the Beatles.
What a good song
Hey Bulldog is stellar, especially given its history
I'm so appreciate your reaction to Hey Bulldog. I'm a first generation Beatles fan. Growing up with them. Take a deep dive, friend. Plenty of interesting music from The Beatles. ❤
Pete Best was the drummer before Ringo joined the band. Stuart Sutcliffe was John’s best friend from art school, and he played bass for a while, but left to pursue his career as an artist. He died of a brain tumor when he was 23 or so.
John, Paul, George, and Ringo. The Beatles.
Imagine if Pete and Stuart never left the band.....Ouch!
The inspired songwriting, the magically intuitive groove, the into-your-soul vocals - no band has even come close to even being a shadow of the Beatles..
there is no band where it is easier to roll off a dozen or more 'great' songs off the tip of ones tongue...
Paul's bass line ... wow. And, George's lead guitar, John (and Paul)'s vocals and the drums from Ringo - all round special/great.
One of my favorites and WOW I can really hear the Bass on this recording. Freaking amazing and genius choice of Bass phrasing. Paul!! Only seen one other reaction to this. Keep ahead of your competition and check out
NOWHERE MAN!!
Hey Bulldog has always seemed to be one of the Beatles most underrated songs and I've never understood why. I've always loved it.
That part with the barking at the end was spontaneous. Paul started and John was able to join in to create what you heard here. The chemistry between them was simply amazing
What can one say ... the masters at their peak at work in the studio
Thanks for the review. One of my favorite Beatles song.
I've been a musician for 31 years, & The Beatles get better every year on year! 😂
the fab four plays all styles bro.......ALL OF THEM....They are the history of music...The bass line of Paul's is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BEST BAND EVER!!!
It’s a great song of theirs I was unaware of for a long time. Was on the Yellow Submarine movie album, which I’d avoided. But it was nice to discover a new song when I thought I knew them all.
Thank you, Drew, for the recommendation. A fantastic song to jam to.
Hey Bulldog is one of my all-time favorite Beatles songs, and like Lynyrd Skynyrd and CCR, The Beatles are one of those bands that I literally like every song they ever did.
Hey Bulldog is one of those underrated and overlooked gems that make deep diving the Beatles discography always fascinating and worthwhile.
Paul McCartney came up with so many awesome bass licks, this being one of them!! 😎👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Genius is what genius does. This proves once and for all that The Beatles *WAS* a rock'n'roll band.
SHE'S LEAVING HOME..OUTSTANDING 😊
Hey Bulldog is a highly underrated Beatles gem. You hit a lot of the best aspects right off the bat. Lot of joy here. Argument over who did the solo. Throw in Starr's slushy drumming with that echo, these guys fill so much space.
Always loved Hey Bulldog! And Old Brown Shoe!
First time hearing this song and I’ve listened to them a lot. Thanks for posting
