Well, that was that. You handled it well, Gordon. I appreciate how you snuck in that what a person is going to spend their money on isn't how you are supposed to pick a winner. She has rationalized why she broke her promise to Charlie so well that she believes she was right in doing so.
Sadly he got burned by her.
2nd place gets $100,000, 3rd gets $85,000 - those are both life-changing amounts of money. So I agree that the vote should be for the Sole Survivor, not for the brokest person there.
Kenzie survived since day one. She’s survived more tribals than anyone else. She adapted. She won when she needed too & clearly had bonds with people.
@@nanirose7786only thing is she said she voted with her heart and not her head so if she did with her head it would have been 4-4 and Ben most likely would have voted Charlie. If she would have said it was from her head she voted Kenzie then I think the point could still be debated but is more solid
Ultimately I think the majority of the audience wants to see the jury vote for the person they think played the best game of survivor and eliminate as much bias or feeling from the decision. But that’s very hard to do.

Part of being a good human is to reflect and understand your behavior and to acknowledge and own your choices. Good bad or otherwise. Rationalizing your choices to justify them is a defensive reaction, an emotional response, and an early step to becoming a better human. That being said, it’s a game and emotion will always have an impact on your actions and the actions of others, ya have to manage others and/or exploit them to take home the $.
100% agree Gordon, that the Jury SHOULDN’T use what the winner will do with the money for their decision. The one that played the best game should win. If we are focused on what they will do with the money, why not just line up all 18 players at the start and pick the one who could use it best?
I mean every athlete who has ever played has tried to hide that part of their lives from the cast because who is going to give a professional athlete a million dollars, who deserves the money has always been a consideration of the jury for declaring a winner.

She sounds incredibly rehearsed. I don’t believe her reasoning for voting for Kenzie over Charlie. She was just bitter Charlie voted her out before she could vote him out. Many middle aged players refuse to accept a much younger person outsmarted them
I think people put too much stock in the fire making challenge. I get that it’s important, but if you thought Kenzie winning the fire making challenge was so important, than Charlie winning those immunity and reward challenge should be looked at the same way or more.
The fire making challenge is hot garbage. I hate it. I’ve always hated it. I have no idea why it matters to jurors.
@@KM-et5bm I don’t dislike the fire making challenge as much as a lot of other people, but this I just don’t like this idea that this one thing is a make or break for winning this game for a lot of people. On top of that, players today don’t care about winning immunity challenges at all which is more important than fire making.

Great interview! I thought you asked great questions. The only answer that I took some issue with was her saying 4 other people voted for Kenzie when told her vote could have changed the winner. There’s a pretty big difference between the others vote, and her vote where she told Charlie that she’d vote for him imo.
It was also an interesting response to the question about Liz and Kenzie teaming up in that challenge. She really wanted to make it clear that the fire was the reason she got her vote, which of course seems to contradict with Charlie said was her reasoning post season
But she said the fire thing at aftershow reunion as well

I don't mind Kenzie won. But Charlie should have won. He had a strong all around game.
Maria was all about sour grapes. She didn’t give Liz food which was awful. She bullshitted so much, like not voting for Charlie…it was a total shoe-in for Kenzie to win fire making. To put her vote on that was so ridiculous. I basically think it was a matter of “if I can’t win, you can’t win.” Charlie should have won. He played the best game.
She has to live with her decision. I think Charlie is the bigger person and will do well as a lawyer. Team Charlie! Nothing against Kenzie.
I’m so disgusted by Maria. Such an envious snake who voted for Kenzie out of revenge. Her true personality was revealed. Hope to never see her face again.

Many seem to believe that she is. I bet every interview she does sounds the same. I only enjoy Gordon's channel.
In all her exit interviews she keeps emphasizing how when she walked into the voting booth she was back and forth between Charlie and Kenzie - yet in the after show she made it very clear that she had decided the night before, right after Kenzie won in fire, that Kenzie would have her vote. 🙄
Woof, I enjoyed this interview. I'm glad you kinda played ball with her and didn't 100% accept with no contest the answers that didn't seem to line up/are questionable

I hope she's doing alright I know some people will be upset about her jury vote but she is right that she's one of five votes. Karla and Jesse were 2 of 7 votes and still got the vast majority of the criticism for the jury vote.

Love you Mr. Holmes, but this interview came off very biased. Kinda jarring to hear Maria keep saying, “this is why Kenzie won not why Charlie lost,” to you :/
They are kind of one in the same though tbh. I think it’s fair to ask why you wouldn’t vote for your closest ally/best friend in the game. I’ve been a huge Kenzie supporter, but I never would’ve thought she would get Maria’s vote over Charlie.
