    Very nice Smoker . What gauge material did you use on the smoker and the fire box?

    Is the frame necessary? It seems to me a frame less design is better to reduce weight. Basically, use plate joint edge to edge, may be a angle piece to help holding weld.

      Yes make sure that you use a BBQ guru, pitmaster IQ is cheaper and it worked for us to help maintain temperature and efficiency inconsistent

    Did you have to use a metal brake for the door an top cap?

    Is a electronic temp control required on the gravity feed smoker for it to cook correctly? My local competition does not allow for it

      No

      We did use an external thermometer that we stuck in the meat and kept outside the smoker to monitor the internal temperature. The gage on the front helps you keep track of the external smoker temperature

    Nice job getting ready to make one myself , how long does a bag of charcoal last You

    • @mholland3864
      @mholland3864  6 лет назад +1

      Thank You. A 20 lb bag of charcoal briquettes will last you about 20-22 hours at an average temperature of 250 degrees. If I do a half lump charcoal half charcoal briquettes I get about 18 hours.
