    BTW... And you dropped some amazing builds.

    • @JackArmstrong-jackdaddycustoms
      @JackArmstrong-jackdaddycustoms  Год назад +1

      yes you can. you just have to make sure they are small enough chunks to fit. i like to soak a few larger pieces and put them in the very bottom where they coals will drop on them and they have a slower burn. but directly in works too. thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words!

    How does the flavor and texture of the bbq from this sort of cooker compare to that from an offset smoker?

    • @JackArmstrong-jackdaddycustoms
      @JackArmstrong-jackdaddycustoms  Год назад

      I think the flavor is the same. Mike depends on whether you put wood in the coal box early in the cook. The biggest difference to me is that it’s almost impossible to dry anything out in this style of smoker. It keeps the moisture like nothing else. Not the case in an offset.

    How does the gravity compare to a reverse flow?

    • @JackArmstrong-jackdaddycustoms
      @JackArmstrong-jackdaddycustoms  Год назад

      Gravity fed is referring to the way the fuel is supplied where as reverse flow is referring to the travel Of the heat/smoke. So you could have a gravity fed reverse flow smoker. In generalities, most reverse flow smokers are wood fired and made out of some type of cylinder tank. So I’m that case, a gravity fed insulated cabinet smoker like this one will be cool to the touch and much more efficient and require much less of your attention. I don’t know if that really answered your question but you can fire away if you need something clarified. I’ll be glad to help anyway I can.
