If you go into it with a bit more of an open mind and just let the story take you were its going to go.. no expectation nothing just enjoy :)

I'm really enjoying the complete fantasy / story telling / superstition arc this season is taking. It makes sense since everything seems to be controlled by playful / vengeful "gods" right now. It gives me a bit of Trial of a Timelord vibes with a lot more fun.
I predict that there will be hints or suspicions that the doctor comes from this pantheon but I really hope that the doctor's origins are never confirmed. As an adoptee who never found my birth family myself, I enjoy the story that you are who you make yourself to be and it doesn't matter where you come from. Ruby can find her birth family but she should understand that it wouldn't make any difference to who she is.
I'm enjoying the wacky turn this season because the "gods" behind it make this insanity make sense. Can't wait for more!
Edited to add: It could be that they will have Ruby somehow come from the pantheon and this season is coming from or being subconsciously controlled by her. She's looking for her family and they (the old gods) keep showing up. It seems like a stretch but if anyone's origins would be found it would be Ruby's and not the Doctor's. As long as Ruby understands her origins do not make her who she is.... I'd be fine with that.
I absolutely love the take you have on this its just sounds like a wonderful piece of writing.. I agree we cannot have thee doctor find home and be all like i now know who I am because that would really just rub people even more the wrong way.. I personally don't care if they want to tell us or not as you said it doesn't make the character who they are and why I enjoy watching them :)

There's a episode of extras Ricky garvas,, his character is being an extra alongside 10th dr Tennant,,it was a sketch kinda thing,,he was a poo monster,,,
Type of thing they mock dr who for,
Boggy monster just takes me to that sketch,,
Its just wierd and stupid.

Doctor Who has literally not changed, well not much anyway.. we have always had these crazy weird episodes and its part of what makes doctor who so lovable.

Wow!!! This absolutely incredible. You have singlehandedly proven the existence of multiple universes because I don't know which universe you were watching this in but it wasn't the one I'm in.
In my universe this was absolute shite, A terrible storyline and references to gay and trans cultures that had no relevance to the plot whatsoever. This was simultaneously aimed at niche genders and IQs below 60. What it wasn't was Doctor Who in any meaningful way.

Doctor Who isn't just the TV show there is a full entirety of expanded media of the show that all spans 60+ Years..

The show still produced story’s in the wilderness years, regardless of if it was still off tv it would still be considered 60 years of history
