    1. pride (self centered) 2. Envy ( jealousy). 3. Anger ( wrath, short temper). 4. Lazy ( idleness) 5. Greed. 5. Gluttony ( over indulging) 6. Lust. Thank you for posting , a great reminder.

      Always thought the deadly sins were 1. Proud look. 2. Lying tongue. 3. Feet swift to run to mischief. 4. Heart that devise evil imagination. 5. Hands that shed innocent blood. 6. False witness speaking lies. And 7 He who cause discord among the brothers.

    • @horseandchariot
      @horseandchariot  9 месяцев назад +3

      Those are all sins also, but they stem from the seven deadly sins. For example, lying tongue is the deadly fruit of pride, envy, and anger. Heart that devises evil imagination often stems from lust, anger, or greed. Etc.

    Apathy can seem like that. I have no regrets. I face the most difficult paths of doing right first thing in the morning. Early to bed early to rise and not dreading work. Or waking up angry can be the result of going to bed angry. Maybe that causes sloth. Or apathy.

    I have a spiritual, scholarly question. Is there a meaning behind the order of the 7 deadly sins? Like, Pride is number 1, becuz out of all of them its like the worst as you become prideful enough to think you know better than God? Envy is right up there with the 10 commandments. Wrath is the cause of many horrors and societal problems in our world.... as is sloth and greed. The last 2 can be said the same, or is the last 4 are all the inner most struggles we must learn to deal with?
    I'm wondering if there is a spiritual connection or meaning to the order of the seven deadly sins? Does the order always strictly, or just traditionally go like this? I feel perhaps greed should go up there right next to pride: "for the love of money is the root of all evil"
    Perhaps it's just how the traditional list of sins goes.
    I am truly wondering though, how much significance there is in the order, as with the 10 commandments, there is a clear reasoning with its order.

    • @horseandchariot
      @horseandchariot  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for the comment and for sharing your thoughts on this! You outlined it fairly well. This is the order it’s been traditionally taught. All sins are rooted in pride. Therefore, pride is the first. Sins of envy and anger (aka: wrath) are directly against the love of neighbor. Sloth is the pivot point whereby sins start to transition from sins of the spirit to sins of the body. Sloth can, of course, be a spiritual and bodily sin (Spiritual sloth is the sluggishness of soul. Bodily sloth is sluggishness of body). Finally, greed, gluttony, and lust deal with sins of uncontrolled “wants and desires” (greed is the desire for more and more worldly possessions, gluttony is the desire to consume more and more, lust is impure and uncontrolled sexual desire). All sins are bad. Just because lust is listed seven does not mean it’s less bad than greed listed at five. This is just the order by which they are taught.

      @@horseandchariot ah i see better now, thank you! this is the traditional order. Pride is start of things, sloth is the pivoting point; but this doesnt mean lust is less bad than others, or that it's better to be greedy person over being a wrathful one... the order has significance when you explain to me this way. Thank you and God bless 🤗💞

    Just my point of view. Not being preachy. I try not judge others based on personal issues with other people s personality types. I know reverends and pastors who are a holes as people but spiritually they know what they are talking about. Some of them are complete ego maniacs and self centered and out their own name above God's.

    Desire is not a sin. Every person desires. Lust envy and greed are present in all men. .it's the severity of it or if it comes to the surface and how often that makes it a sin in my eyes. Al men desire all men are greedy selfish envious etc..by nature. It's just a matter of degree and where they fall on a spectrum of relative innocence these days. That's about all one can call themselves in today's world. No one is perfect or completely innocent.

    This is not a criticism but rather an additional thought…. Maybe consider a 2nd video without pictures of people but rather slower moving background images allowing more visual people to focus on the words spoken vs the actions that can cause a secondary storyline to run concurrently alongside the more important message being shared. Just a thought 🕊️

      Thank you very much for the feedback. While the images can help tell a deeper story, and help carry the message with less words, you are right in that they can also be distracting at times. The hope would be that one would purely listen to these, rather than watch them, if one preferred that experience. That said, on the website (horseandchariot.com) I may go ahead and add an audio only version that can be played so that is a clear option for those that prefer it. Thank you for the idea! God bless.

    Humility makes men as angels.....let that sink in. Then when you realize that you are an angel, that's when you kick that throne chair over because of PRIDE. Keep riding that line and see how many angels you can create. Fallen angels, who once had humility, eventually sat on a throne and stunted the growth of other humans to become angels. You can't become an angel by being on your knees. Tricky stuff ehh?

    • @horseandchariot
      @horseandchariot  8 месяцев назад +1

      You missed the other half of the quote. Here is the full quote by St. Augustine, “It was pride that changed angels into devils; it is humility that makes men as angels.” Notice it does not say, “humility makes men think they are angels.” But rather, it says, “humility makes men as angels.” Meaning, the angels in heaven completely and humbly serve God. In the same way, the believer on earth who also puts God’s will first in all things, also humbly serves God.

      @@horseandchariot I'm not saying men "think" they are angels. I'm saying men and women are God. When you discover this, you either work for 5he health of this total experience, or you fall and sit on a throne. The mainstream religions today are owned by the same group that owns banks. They use truth to lewer people in and then they set traps. Men and women who inherit the Earth are angels. I personally think that pride has won every time and we always wind up where we are today. If people don't look within and become a droplet of consciousness working for the health of the ocean consciousness, they either sit on a throne and gain weak followers, or they are on their knees worshipping someone else's false throne. The small group we can't criticize and all their secret society sellouts is the central problem with Earth today. Their mainstream religions and central banks is what they use for control. Be that smart mouse that knows where all the traps are. Know you are God....a droplet of it. Currently, a percentage of God hates God. The enemy is slowly destroying themselves today. A lot of rich people are sold out to this and won't have longevity because of it. Just wait; they're finished. They're finished because angels are here today slowly kicking their asses. It's a very different war.

    What sin would excessive internet use fit into? Endless and mindless scrolling.

    • @horseandchariot
      @horseandchariot  9 месяцев назад

      Excessive consumption, even though it's content in this case and not food/drink, would still fall into the vice of gluttony. That said, the vice of sloth could play a factor here also; if, say, one is spending so much time on content consumption, it's stealing from time spent on other important things they should be doing. There is nothing wrong with consuming content. After a hard day of work, it can be a good way to relax and recharge if done in a moderate and moral way. Lastly, if the content one is consuming is immoral, such as sexual content, the vice of lust would be involved. As you can see, multiple vices can play a part. Thus, multiple virtues can play a part also in combatting these things (such as temperance/moderation, self-control, discipline, diligence, purity, etc.). Hopefully, this is helpful. God bless.

    Man CANNOT have 'righteous anger'... man's anger does NOT producebthe righteousness of God.

    • @horseandchariot
      @horseandchariot  7 месяцев назад

      It is right to be angry toward sin and evil as long as it's rightly ordered and controlled. Scripture says, “Be angry but do not sin;" but be careful "not to let the sun go down on your anger, and do not make room for the devil” (Ephesians 4:26-27). God gives us the passion of anger to be used against sin, to stop sin, and to help us evade sin. But we are never to use it outside of that, or to harm or hurt another.
