Great balanced review. Nice to hear how it works in other countries outside the US. I have had the Pixel 7 Pro almost as long as you and got the s23 ultra when it came out. I like both phones a lot but the issues you bring up like bad thermal control, throttling, poor battery life and modem are the things that keep me from loving it completely. I really hope the Tensor G3 and ufs 4 help with thermals and battery life. The flat screen on the Pixel 8 Pro is also a huge plus. Like you said if Google concentrated on improving what it did with the 7 Pro on the 8 Pro instead of a bunch of new features and the same problems would be a much better outcome. Look forward to seeing more of your reviews. Specially of the upcoming 8 Pro!

Interesting. I'm in the UK and I've had a pixel 6 pro since March 2022 and it's been overheating since the start, and the replacement I received overheats like crazy too. Sometimes all it takes is a 2 minute video recording and it's cooked. Watch Instagram reels for 10 mins or so and it's toasty, doing that while charging and I'm sure you could cook an egg on it. For the last couple of weeks when it's been hot here I've had to aim a fan at it while charging with the screen off or it charges at 3W. Great review. The overheating problem is very serious but unfortunately it is overlooked by Google. You're one of the few RUclipsrs who mentioned that. Well done.
No it's not... degoogle the phone operating system and your overheating issues completely disappear. Are you comfortable with the surveillance and spying that Google has infiltrated your entire existence?....why do you think that battery works overtime?
I tried really hard to like the pixel lineup but they disappoint me the most. The battery life is average. The charging speed is slower than most flagship. And connectivity is really bad. My data connectivity and Wi-Fi go in and out all the time and my Bluetooth loses connection from time to time. The antenna is weaker than the other phones. I need a phone that has a consistent connection.
I am 85 - had a flip phone that I could easily understand - and at home I have an original At&t Rotary Dial phone so I cannot press one for English. They stopped supporting the flip phone so my grandchildren bought me a Pixel 7 Pro. I still do not know how to turn it off. I have been watching various beginners guides here on RUclips and at least I can make a phone call but it is clear that this is extreme overkill for me. But it seems every body else seems to like the choice. Will I have it over ten years like the Flip Phone - we'll see. I wish there was a place where I could easily download an owners manual
Great video. I'm interested in seeing the comparison between Asus Zenfone 10, Nothing phone 2 and the pixel 7 pro. I couldn't find any videos of it yet..
I love it too but, I wish they at least solve the overheating issue, this is my only show stopper all other issues I can live with and I can wait for them to be fixed
Very nice review. It was enjoyable to watch and provided a lot of information. FYI, the Whitestone Dome screen protector is relatively easy to install (I would suggest watching installation videos from a couple of RUclipsrs before hand) and includes a plastic film cover for the metal camera bump. While it is not a perfect fit it does cover the majority of the bump.
This is a problem with the curved edges , I have had many protective tempered glass screen protectors including the glue on ones , they still usually don't take long before they start to lift on the edges , and ive been through this crap with three different devices that all had curved edges . I won't buy another device with curved edges.
@@mikldude9376 I have not experienced that problem. I have used the screen protector on the 6, 6p, 7, and now the 7p without issue. It is best to take the time and make sure the adhesive spreads evenly.
I am trying to educate myself as I got a p7 pro recently and know what to expect, but I never seen a review before about a phone listing several issues where literally none seem to affect me. I don't make long videos (or any really) or performance tests, so far battery lasts 1.5 day, surprisingly good considering I got the phone used. I heard in some countries where google doesn't sell the device there were network issues at the beginning. I have a work issued pixel 6 I use for testing and it always felt very mediocre, I just chose the p7p because of the great value, but it's quite a big difference between them and so far happy with the p7p. I don't consider s23 series or iphone 14-15+ real alternatives as they are a lot more expensive, also decided against Samsung due to the several 10 GB extra crap they bundle in the software, and iphone is still at least 5 years behind in software so it's not even an option, feels like a feature phone in comparison. P8 series also seem crazy expensive in comparison, the incremental improvements just aren't worth it.
i feel pixel 6 series (i got pixel 6) are more optimized than the 7 series (i have the pixel 7 pro). Even after 8 monthes, my pixel 7 pro still heat a bit (37-40c when i use it in mobile network without bluetooth, location and without synchronizations. I only have around 4h of SoT.
Nice review! Awesome vid! Hmmm this vid, your vid makes me think twice of getting the Pixel 7. I don’t wanna waste my money to something that has a potential of regrets in the end.
I think you should also do a test with older phones to see how they behave over time. I have a P6P and for several months the zoom camera no longer focuses except in daylight. Wasn't it normal to work the same as on the first day? In addition, I could give maximum zoom to make a kind of macro with her help, now she tells me to back off if I want her to focus. What guarantees do those with P7P have that they will not suffer the same next year after the release of P8P? And so on.
Phones and cell towers need to use the same frequency of signals. Unfortunately this is decided differently in different countries. That's a part of the reason. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSM_frequency_bands
Thank you Emad one again for another dope video. My issues still remain overheating randomly (even when I'm not charging or shooting videos) and battery seems to be inconsistent some days...
I do have to say though, that the pictures taken might look good on a small phone screen. But on a large computer screen they didn't really hold up is you ask me. Judging by your video that is. I haven't used the phone myself yet.
6:56 Hey, when you did that comparison I asked if this particular picture was taken with night mode or if it was just a normal night pic. Didn't get an answer. I'm asking because I started to realise regular night pics actually look pretty nice without night mode brightening them up.
Thanks sir, i have a pixel 7 pro too with all those problems, i have had pixel 1, 2, 3 ,5 , and i was happy to use them but the pixel 7 pro really disappointed me, i have moto edge 30 ultra even running android 12 but I'm very satisfied more than my pixel 7 pro.
2:05 What sort of surfaces was it dropped on? Carpet, vinyl, wood, dirt, concrete? I waiting on delivery of mine. I ordered a TORRAS case and no screen protector, but I would prefer to use it without either if it's pretty tuff. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for mentioning the availability of the Google Pixel specific features and the phone availability in general. Being from a region where pixels aren't available i call the phone a Featureless Stock Android phone with a good camera. Also gotta pray the phone doesn't break or something because there's no way to fix it..
Nope, the Pixel 7 Pro is not perfect and I have had it since day one. But Google creating its own chip is the way forward in the long run. Qualcomm every year are telling everyone how great their new chip is. People really believe that a phone coming out with last year's Qualcomm chip is a failure because it doesn't have the new one yet the difference isn't mind-blowing between them. In some ways, I believe that phone and chip makers would be better off moving to a 2-year cycle as the changes would be more meaningful. of course, they won't do it as it would affect the whole industry including reviewers what would they keep talking about and reviewing for a year. It's more profitable for everyone just to put a + symbol at the end of everything leading people to believe that somehow it's miles better than the last year. only to find out that people are still doing the same things on their phones that they always do. Apple the industry leader in certain areas has been just coasting along for years and has dropped the + symbol and Samsung has become the Apple of Android just happy to dial it in and coast. if they moved to every 2 years the whole industry would have to work harder and be more original to get people's money including Qualcomm who at this point if they were honest just need to put a + symbol on their chips. For now, I am prepared to give Google a little bit of a pass as it has only been 2 years nearly since Pixel 6. But I would be lying that I don't expect to see real improvements with the Tensor 3 & 4 especially in the area of battery and video.
Folks! Can you tell me how to enable the same lock animation as on the 1:07 ??? I mean when the screen gradually fades towards the lock button. I have a 6 Pro, latest version android 13.
Great review as I am always interested in a product after it has several updates. This provides a more accurate review and helps the users decisions before buying.
Excellent review! Hve you also experienced the camera rattle becoming more evident in normal handling? In my case the rattling was there from day 1, but for the last days it has gotten worse to the point that gentle moves (like picking up the phone) result in loud rattling.
Trying to gauge if I should switch from iPhone to Android. Pixels seem the obvious choice as their philosophy is the closest to Apple's and they don't have as much bloat. Would love to get the 7 pro. But why in the world does my iPhone 11 still have better battery life than a new Pixel 7 Pro, even with only 70% of the battery capacity and over 3 years of use? So frustrating, would happily trade some of the nifty features for better efficiency.
Exactly the same problems + connectivity issue where signal completely drops and i have to restart the phone. To be honest, they need to figure out Tensor. Until then, i think i'm gonna look elsewhere
The volume button has fallen out after ~3-4 months of use twice since I bought the P7 pro since it came out. Google send me a new device both times and it happened on the second device as well, hoping it doesn't happen on the third device too!
Thank you Emad. Your impressions are always appreciated. Did I understand you correctly when you mentioned looking forward to a Chip change for "The Pixel 10" ? I had heard a little bit about Google's Tensor Chip becoming one hundred percent Their Own in 2025 I had been planning on getting the Pixel 9, (i currently have the 6 Pro), but if you're correct, I'll wait for the 10. Perhaps you will discuss that in a future Post. I have, for a long time, felt that Google Should be The Best Android Phone Available bar none. I would be heartbroken if Google didn't feel like minded. Now that they have reached Flagship status it would be a considerable disappointment, to me, for them to not push forward. Thank you once again, JaneLee - in Suburban Philadelphia, USA
I dont have the overheat issue after recent updates, however the battery life getting worst. Also problem on light flake ring in image is the killer for me not using Pixel in future as it seem it is a long term problem.
Google will be switching from Samsung to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) for the Pixel 9/9 Pro using a 3nm SOC. They wanted to use this on the Pixel 8 but did not secure manufacturing in time. The Pixel 8 will still improve over the Pixel 7 because it will shrink to a 4nm SOC which should improve efficiency and power consumption.
Great video man. I have a question, I'm planning to get a new phone, and I'm between the Samsung s23 and Pixel 7 pro ( keep in mind i found both at the same price) which one should I get?
If you don't care much about the software features of Google get the S23 Ultra or wait for the Pixel 8 hoping that Google will address the overheating issues and if that's the case I will recommend it over the Samsung
I have been using pixel 7 for 6 months now and everything is really awesome here but the heating issue with the Tensor G2 is really pathetic. Handling games is really bad as even if the fps is there, the heating issue just makes us feel like we should stop using the phone.
I had a dream Google created a cloud gaming platform, for AAA games, where we could play on our phones for hours without the temp increasing a single degree.

i used a samsung for the last decade and thought id make a change. i wanted a decent camera for pics and vid and watched many comparison reviews for the apple, samsung and pixel. value for money i grabbed the pixel 7 pro for about AUD$900 which was almost half that of its competitors. the camera has not disappointed but the phone is a piece of crap. im going to get rid of it as soon as i use it for filming a holiday coming up. i thought initially it was user error stuff or settings requiring tweaking or even an adjustment period after having had a samsung for so long, but no, it is terrible! slow, glitchy as anything, battery life is shocking, lacks intuition and some aspects make it frustratingly unusable. even basic functions like phone calls, txts or messenger updates constantly fail or arrive minutes, sometimes hours later.
great video i have the 7 pro and i live in saudi Arabia The phone suffers from getting too much hot in the sun and the screen will dim a lot when it's outdoors. do you think it's better for me to buy Samsung s23 ultra because my job is always outside. can you please do a test outdoor and the sun comparing the two the s23 ultra versus Google Pixel 7 pro under the sun to see how the screens look side by side?

But it seems every body else seems to like the choice. Will I have it over ten years like the Flip Phone - we'll see. I wish there was a place where I could easily download an owners manual
The tensor overheated once ( two days ago ) in my all year of using pixel phones. It's often hot, sure. But overheating is something else.
No overheating issues here on my Pixel 7 Pro. My back glass cracked though even though I had a phone case in
the app consistency thing isn't just affecting pixel phones, it's affecting all android phones and it should be addressed as soon as possible
Credit to the reviewer here mentioning the issue of screen protectors and car cradle. Kudos as no one else has talked about these issues
subscribed for the fair review! other youtubers lie non stop about all of you mentioned
Great video. I'm interested in seeing the comparison between Asus Zenfone 10, Nothing phone 2 and the pixel 7 pro. I couldn't find any videos of it yet..
Great Review and Genuine to Actual Usage...I Bought 7 Pro with core interest of its Unique Design and Large Size...
It's for sure level up of video quality! Thank you!
My Pixel 7 Pro has been perfect since November. Y'all need to stop shopping on Facebook.
This is my first Google phone and I love it. I think I will be sticking with Google for a few phones
I love it too but, I wish they at least solve the overheating issue, this is my only show stopper all other issues I can live with and I can wait for them to be fixed
@@IDTR I have never had an overheating issue but I am not a gamer
Habibi, I love this phone lol It's a solid device for the price. Great post!
i feel pixel 6 series (i got pixel 6) are more optimized than the 7 series (i have the pixel 7 pro). Even after 8 monthes, my pixel 7 pro still heat a bit (37-40c when i use it in mobile network without bluetooth, location and without synchronizations. I only have around 4h of SoT.
Only 4h of SOT that's crazy bad, what apps do you use the most?
Really nice review, Emad, it's been really helpful.Thanks.🙂
Nice review! Awesome vid!
Hmmm this vid, your vid makes me think twice of getting the Pixel 7. I don’t wanna waste my money to something that has a potential of regrets in the end.
I recommend waiting for the Pixel 8 or maybe Android 14 will solve these issues
wow, good that you made points about screen dimming , and modem battery drain issues. These are annoying problems thr
It seems like people in hot countries are the most impacted
I think you should also do a test with older phones to see how they behave over time. I have a P6P and for several months the zoom camera no longer focuses except in daylight. Wasn't it normal to work the same as on the first day? In addition, I could give maximum zoom to make a kind of macro with her help, now she tells me to back off if I want her to focus. What guarantees do those with P7P have that they will not suffer the same next year after the release of P8P? And so on.
I agree with vou. 👍
But I always wonder why a phone is not the same phone in every country 🤔
Phones and cell towers need to use the same frequency of signals. Unfortunately this is decided differently in different countries. That's a part of the reason.

@@joefox9875 Thanks
Thank you Emad one again for another dope video. My issues still remain overheating randomly (even when I'm not charging or shooting videos) and battery seems to be inconsistent some days...
Even after the July update?
I do have to say though, that the pictures taken might look good on a small phone screen. But on a large computer screen they didn't really hold up is you ask me. Judging by your video that is. I haven't used the phone myself yet.
Good one! Let google do something on 5g availability, screencall feature, etc
I have Pixel 7 Pro and the biggest issue is battery life. I think it was downgraded with updates.
yeah i barely get 4hrs of SOT, this is outrageous
This would be a killer if it had Qualcomm chip🔥🔥🔥
I experienced none of the issues you mentioned. Maybe you should go back to your iPhone.
Your videos are so high quality. Love the channel
regarding battery life, I found that economy mode stops the phone from overheating, hence much better battery life
Very accurate review. Everything is true!
I still can't believe how awful the battery life is..
Folks! Can you tell me how to enable the same lock animation as on the 1:07 ???
I mean when the screen gradually fades towards the lock button. I have a 6 Pro, latest version android 13.
The beta is consuming a lot of your battery. I went back to 13 and am impressed with battery life
Maybe, but 14 beta 4 has been great on the battery ...so far
STILL USING PIXEL 3 & PIXELS WERE MY FAVORITE TILL 4XL A HIGHEND FLAGSHIP PROCESSOR
Great review as I am always interested in a product after it has several updates. This provides a more accurate review and helps the users decisions before buying.
i m planning to buy pixel 7 pro in nov, is it still good to buy now? btw my priority is camera and i m no i phone lover.
Hey! Dyou get it? How's your experience with it so far?
@ezeisaacsunday5958 nope I bought OnePlus 12.
Always good reviews. Please keep it up.
My brother, Looking FRESH 🔥 with that new haircut. Looking clean 😎.
Does the photos need to be synced to Google Photos in order to use the advanced photo edits?
Excellent review! Hve you also experienced the camera rattle becoming more evident in normal handling? In my case the rattling was there from day 1, but for the last days it has gotten worse to the point that gentle moves (like picking up the phone) result in loud rattling.
My 7 pro hilding up pretty good . Have had it now for about 6 months myself. My only conplaint is yhe accidental touches.
Pixel 7 Pro user here. It's a good phone, but it doesn't hold a candle to other flagship phones.
Sounds as though it "May" be something you're doing wrong 😏.
On point and honest interview. Thanks
How do you receive OTA updates knowing that some countries block the domain Google uses to push updates?
Honest review, thank you.
Very balanced and impartial review
1:12 How do you have a different clock style on lockscreen. I couldn't find the option to change. I really appreciate the guidance. Thank you.
That's Android 14 Beta 3.1
@@IDTR Thank you.
@@IDTR Try Android beta 4....so much better than 3.1 was
Lets hope the Pixel 8 fixes many of the issues.
pixel photos look good at first glance, but the processing artifacts ruin the photo and are hard to ignore
Thank you Emad. Your impressions are always appreciated.
Did I understand you correctly when you mentioned looking forward to a Chip change for "The Pixel 10" ?
I had heard a little bit about Google's Tensor Chip becoming one hundred percent Their Own in 2025
I had been planning on getting the Pixel 9, (i currently have the 6 Pro), but if you're correct, I'll wait for the 10.
Thank you once again,
JaneLee - in Suburban Philadelphia, USA
You're most welcome, honestly I didn't mention that part about 2025 Tensor, I was just hoping for a better chipset in the Pixel 8

That's actually my thoughts, I love it but I'm disappointed
Pixel 7pro keeps my hands warm 🔥
Great for winter
I dropped mine once, less than a foot distance, landed gently and alas... the screen cracked from top to bottom.
thank you for making this video..
New intro!
I dont have the overheat issue after recent updates, however the battery life getting worst. Also problem on light flake ring in image is the killer for me not using Pixel in future as it seem it is a long term problem.
The standby battery life on my Pixel 7 Pro is really bad .
Very pleased with the photos it takes though.
Great review! Do you think it would be worth getting an s23 or waiting until pixel 8 pro?
I would personally wait for the pixel 8
I would also recommend waiting for the Pixel 8 and then decide
wait it's only a couple of months and the price will drop more on s23 by then if you decide to go with Samsung
Thanks all, I will wait to see what the 8 series has to offer!
I hope so
Great video man.
I Love my P7p but its getting hot and the brightness going down... The batterylife ist also bad.. how can google selling this.....
I am tempted to buy a pixel but it's so divisive. It seems they have terrible quality control. Leading to shine people loving it and others hating it.
Since the July update my phone doesn't get hot at all (7pro)
Hi there, your video presentation has improved so well for the past years I'm following your channel. Very detailed infos plus now the visuals ❤. Audio is always excellent. Nice to see u still have the pixel 4 xl.
Question: how to know if my phone is on 5g ?
I have a pixel 6 and am now living in the Philippines.
Yes warranty is an issue, still now no Google store in my country. Buying on line is the only option and it's more expensive 😮
Tuned in
What is that always on display clock? And lockscreen clock
Android 14
Ohhh that's cool...do you know when that update is coming?
@@chiragpatil7653 Probably August
@@chiragpatil7653 You can enroll in the beta now if you want. I'm currently rocking it and love it!
i used a samsung for the last decade and thought id make a change. i wanted a decent camera for pics and vid and watched many comparison reviews for the apple, samsung and pixel. value for money i grabbed the pixel 7 pro for about AUD$900 which was almost half that of its competitors. the camera has not disappointed but the phone is a piece of crap. im going to get rid of it as soon as i use it for filming a holiday coming up. i thought initially it was user error stuff or settings requiring tweaking or even an adjustment period after having had a samsung for so long, but no, it is terrible! slow, glitchy as anything, battery life is shocking, lacks intuition and some aspects make it frustratingly unusable. even basic functions like phone calls, txts or messenger updates constantly fail or arrive minutes, sometimes hours later.
great video
i have the 7 pro and i live in saudi Arabia The phone suffers from getting too much hot in the sun and the screen will dim a lot when it's outdoors. do you think it's better for me to buy Samsung s23 ultra because my job is always outside. can you please do a test outdoor and the sun comparing the two the s23 ultra versus Google Pixel 7 pro under the sun to see how the screens look side by side?
Yes it gets hot too and the S23U is a lot better in this matter
