I admire your keyboard skills. Perfectly presented sounds, you know how to create the right mood. Instead of buying apps I should start practicing playing ;) Ps. IK Multimedia should hire you to present their products :)
Fantastic video, you really capture and represent the sounds. Really really cool, you sold me, I’m going to buy this for sure. Great stuff and thanx again!
I just purchased this, it's downloading now. I got a good price, so I decided to go for it. I was stuck between this and Arturia's version. Both of them allow you to sample, but people seemed to be leaning towards Sampletron 2 over Arturia's version. It was hard not to choose Arturia due to the the quality of the other products that I own by them. Analog V and Pigment 3 are both professional quality, and I highly recommend both of them. I'm sure their mellotron vst is great, but it seems that IK has a few more bells and whistles. This video definitely proves that IK is capable of emulating the original really well. This sounds great. It's nice to hear more sounds than the strawberry fields flute. That seems to be the go to sound to prove how mellotron sounding something is.
Thank you so much !! I have a lot of Arturia products such as V Collection and Pigment 3. However, the V collection is version 6, so I'm thinking about upgrading. I was also interested in Mellotron V, but I bought Sampletron 2 immediately because IK released it. I also bought the first Sampletron at the time of release. In the past, sample data released by Mellotron was loaded into AKAI's sampler and KORG's synthesizer and used live. It was hard at the time, but now it's good because it's easy to use a good mellotron sound.
Very nice overview and some appropriately prog virtuoso playing. If one owns the original SampleTron (which stills works with Windows 10 64 bits), would this be worth the upgrade? The preset names seem to be changed, but most of the sounds are similar if not exact.
Thank you so much !! I'm glad you said that !! I also have an original Sampletron. I've been using it since it was first released, but it's true that Sampletron 2 includes the original sample and has similar sounds. I also felt that the new sample was good. I think the effects of tape effects and other effects and parameters are great. The user interface is also good and easy to use. If you have IK Multimedia points and can buy them at a low price, it might be worth it.
It would be cool if they threw in some authentic old school drum machines like the CR-78. I already own a ton of sounds that emulate popular vintage drum machines, but it would be nice to have the original loops and be able to double them up like being able to mix salsa with swing for example, and then let you manipulate the midi etc..
Roland's "CR-78" is a cool choice. It seems that there are sound sources emulated by other manufacturers. The sound source may have been recorded in Arturia's "SPARK" or "SPARK Vintage". I have "SPARK", but I haven't used it for a while, so I forgot. I remember that the original loop of "CR-78" was not included. How was the MIDI pattern ...
Incredible because it fixes the absurdities of the mellotron interface and allows full mixing and matching. If you love the mellotron sound, then it's a no brainer. I just wish that the iPad version was less expensive. I might buy it anyway but not so fast. I never complain about price. I can either afford something or not. IOS apps are going up in price so it's a good idea to grab them now before they reach windows/macOS prices.
Great video and great playing. I have Sampletron 2 as part of Total Studio Max 4 but for some reason, Sampletron 2 is not accessing its library located on my external sounds hard drive even after I've set up a file path to its instruments folder. What do I have to do in order to remedy this problem?
Thank you so much !! I've been in a similar situation as well. Perhaps you can fix it by running "Restore My Purchases" from the Custom Shop application. It would be nice if it was fixed !!
