Yes! I am all about the bargain fabrics! We have Save a thon in the Bronx with a ‘narrow’ store around the corner. I am a newish sewer, so I appreciate you naming the type of fabric you purchased and possible projects.
Hey Raven...you got some beautiful pieces. I haven't been to Save a ton in years....only since the past few years I've been ordering fabric online. Listen, I don't know why everyone feels fabric needs to be $$$...when you understand fabric and it's fiber content , you know what you're paying for. Any composition can be beautiful ..it's just a matter of preference. Anywhoo, glad you had an awesome wknd...can't wait to see what you make.😊
Shopping in Montreal is the same! Bolts are laying around everywhere and the prices are amazing. I love that Queens has options. I'll have to looks these up if I'm in NYC.
Hey Raven. It was nice meeting you at Frocktails! Love the fabric you got and it’s prices!! I should have gone shopping with you. 😊 Next time I go to NY, I’ll definitely check out those fabric stores! I love a good deal!
Thanks for showing me these fabric stores. I have to be in Queens a lot for work but I don't have enough time to go into the Manhattan garment district. You have given me some great options.
Sooo…… I really need all of your fabrics 🤣! I’ve gone to the district in NYC once and didn’t get a thing because I was overwhelmed. I need to go to those stores. Thanks for sharing!!
Awesome video I love it . When you can travel out of state, and find some real cool fabric else where. I live in Louisiana and the only place in my town. That has fabric is either walmart or hobby lobby. Those stores out in NYC. Do have a great selection. Wish i could go there some day. Just to see the wide selection of stores and the fashion garmet district. Keep up the great work.
New subbie here!! I haven't sewd since high school, just a clothes designer in my head. Anyway thanks for sharing. I'm in long island and I will see check these stores out bc of u. Even tho I don't sew , I use fabric in my jewelry designs. Thanks again, inspiring
Thanks for subscribing! Welcome to my channel. I'm so glad to hear that you'll be exploring those shops. They are all so nice and have great inventory.
I often have to remind myself that I do not sell because of money constraints or to make items at a cheaper cost. I sew strictly based upon my size and body measurements. I’m 6ft, longer arms, 37 inch inseam, smaller waist, larger hips and broader shoulders, I’m ALL over the place with my body. It’s almost impossible to find clothes that fit me well that does not include stretch. My point is, everyone sews for different reasons. I sew so I can stay in style and have clothes that fit beautifully
Hey - I agree big box stores can be on the expensive side which is why I love the deals. Fine Fabrics in Norcross, GA has some great deals if you ever get to visit.
Raven, I look for bargains. It doesn't make sense to spend a fortune on fabric. A friend, and I will be traveling from Upstate New York to New York City to shop at the Saveathon in Harlem. We are looking forward to it.

Hi Shelley - Thanks, I don't have a brand preference but I like polyester.
Save A Thon has now gone the way of the dinosaur since this past July 2024.....IDK if their other locations are still open
I heard that the Queen’s location closed but that the others are still open. Thanks

Fabrics are an individual choice, if you like and are happy to sew and wear, then that's OK. 💜🪻💜
Agreed! Fabric is definitely a personal choice.
