Raven I just dove in to this pattern last night and I am loving it . However the instructions calls for a 3/8 seam on the tucks , pattern piece 1, this should probably be a SCANT 3/8 using the presser foot edge not an actual 3/8 because the actual 3/8 will make the piece to narrow to cut the guide next for some sizes and cause a lot of frustration.

This set would be beautiful with a mock neck long sleeve top, tights and doc martens. Kind up punk it up. But it would also be super cute in a pastel brocade and sling backs with it

I made a garment last month, practiced a welt pocket and went super nicely. My advice would be to interface around the area where the pocket is placed (it prevents the base to shift, fray etc. Second tip would be to follow the steps through a video tutorial. I used the one from Friday Pattern Company (pogonip top)

I love that you’re focusing on quality. I started out the year with a goal to sew one item per month. I started out with a denim pants for my hubby. I feel like I can call it quits at this point. It was a challenge for me, but the results 👌🏽. I feel super accomplished.

I love everything you said, quality over quality is my go to. It's so rewarding to make something using high end couture techniques and good quality fabric. I don't wanna spend hours making things that I can find in store for a very affordable price, it's too depressing. Sewing for others is also great, especially for your loved ones...I wish you a wonderful year of happy sewing!

I love your plan. I started my IG channel for myself. I wanted to catalog my sewing progress and teach myself couture techniques and fitting. Sewing with intension is the way to go.

I put myself on a no-buy year. Except necessary stuff for life And my planed stuff on my trip, like gifts and future nostalgia (fabrics from local places). So I have already decided and plans to make about 9 garments out of fabric from my stash and try to work through som of my collection of fabric. I want the garment so time to do the old projects. Im looking forward to be done with them this year!

Have you tried ordering fabric from Mood fabrics online?

I'm in the same desert so I do much of my fabric shopping online, unless HB is running a sale and I have an itch I need to scratch. I buy at Jo's when there is an immediate need or I have a gift card. As for those mystery fabric boxes, mine were more of misery boxes- maybe one or two decent fabrics/color wave and the rest nothing I'd use or sell. Mystery boxes are definitely a no for me.
