I've been playing a Prot paladin for all of Shadowlands and I'm using Season 4 as a chance to try out Blood DK.
This video did a really good job of showing a general idea of how this class works without flooding us with details. Great job!

How do you keep your 5 boneshield stacks up all the time? I seem to have a huge issue, with this uptime for some reason.,
Crimson Rune Weapon gives you 5 stacks upon using Dancing Rune Weapon, after that its just weapon marrowrend at 3-4 stacks or before you lose it. Things to remember stack can only be consumed every 2 second as an internal CD, and marrowrend will you double stack generating during DRW uptime..
Came back to shadowlands for the first time since the first raid came out and hated my ele shaman and fancied bdk and this guide has helped me learn so much more. Gained a new sub from me today sir thank you keep up the content ❤️

I don't think it is necessary to stay above 5 Boneshield stacks during Dancing Rune Weapon. The only thing that we get from it is Death Strike costing 40 RP instead of 45. 1 stack of Boneshield gives same armor and haste as 10 stacks and Marrowrend+DRW gives 9 stacks. So using Marrowrend+DRW effectively wastes 4 stacks of Boneshield.
Yeah I only use it at 2 stacks during DRW, I know I could even wait til 1 but I won’t risk it dropping off during a global
Another tip that 90% of Bdks dont talk for some reason. Try to spam Heartstrike INSIDE the death and decay window, otherwise you are losing tons of DPS and aggro.
They dont talk about this because its obvious lol, just read your abilities description…
@@pr3287 You say this but it's easy to mix up, Blood DKs have like 28 CDs.
Forgive them if they forget the mechanics of one from time to time.

3:50 u can pop it early to get dmg going and hold threat, but optimally would be when you've running out of runes spamming heart strikes, it will give u fresh set of runes in a big pack to keep spamming HS

you should pop it at 3-4 runes in the opener and then you spam hs until every target has the dot, ignoring overcapping rp

A lot of this is really bad advice. Why would you spend to 0 runes in the opener?

@@mazthemetaltailor you say you pop drw and then dump all your runes on hs until you got 0. Why would you purposefully rune-starve yourself and not spend anything on bonestorm or death strike? Its not a dps or survivability gain. You gain nothing from going below 3 runes. Instead you could use those globals on bb or ds depending on the target count. You should only be aiming to go to 0 and ignore rp/blood boil overcapping towards the end of your drw when you're struggling to keep it up
@@frooeessaa Because when you open and drain your runes, pop shackle you gain free runes by spreading it.. going from 6(on opener) to 0 to a free 6 full runes by shackle spread. You quickly get to your 40 STR stack and gain many free Heart Strikes to extend DRW, which is your goal for more survivability, more dps and better play.
While doing this you shouldnt ignore Blood boil, Bonestorm or Death Strike. Bonestorm being a great RP dump .. while you shouldnt ignore these abilities they shouldnt be spammed either in your opener.. I think the confusion here is that you think youre rune starving yourself when in fact you arent.
