      Yep and speedometers arent exactly a calibrated precise piece of equipment, especially after they spent some years. My car is showing 3 kmh slower, and its just 5 years old.

    • @levend62
      @levend62 3 года назад

      In Australia, they set the speed guns for 7 km over so be like 3 miles. If you get a speed ticket say doing 120 k in 110 k area they deduct 3k as they use the 3k as a speedo threshold. But they are really strict around schools as they have been a lot of accidents. You know young kids excited running out onto the road so forth.

      i thought there was a limit to how far u can go over the speed limit for it to actually be illegal, i thought it was like 4 or 5 mph over and even then most people dont care. people here where i live regularly go like 10 mph over the limit

    I was in the Navy stationed in Newport from 1963 to 1967. I have always felt guilty that Fellow service members gave a lot more than I. When the judge said to the vet "that any time you could have been sent to Vietnam", So he thought any who served deserved to be honored, it felt a small relief from that guilt. Thank you Judge Caprio

    How he feels the need to correct himself and say "i was in Germany" and "i was in during Vietnam" not saying that he fought in Vietnam is sad. There are probably people that have accosted him or at the very least verbally harassed him about it like he isn't a 'real' Vietnam vet.

Im a vietnam era veteran myself and i have been put down by men that had served in country but they dont realize that alot of the peoplethat didnt serve in country could have run to Canada but we did not, we volunteered our service because its what we were taught to do as we grew up. I dont hold it against the men that served in country because i did not have to live what they did and i thank them every time i meet one so againif you served THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

    there is deep honor and integrity in having served during that era and after all this time, making clear you weren't in the actual war. that is true respect to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. survivors guilt is experienced by soldiers from all eras. their honor comes from having been willing to pay that sacrifice, but remaining honest in the fact they never were ordered to. many wont catch that he instantly clarified that distinction. but i did. i do that exact thing when questioned about my time in the service. i find it to be the only thing that really matters when discussed. all gave some, some gave all.

      @@user-su1dp4jw8e Not quite sure what you mean with your question. In general, during the six years I was there, from '68 to'74, life was completely normal for the majority of citizens although not quite so for those with relatives stranded behind the East/West Border of course.
      If, as we say in the UK, 'the balloon went up', i.e. hostilities were imminent, it would be difficult to say precisely how the civilian population would fare although I've no doubt the W German Government had well-crafted plans but for all service personnel, of all nationalities, life would probably change for ever! Those with accompanying families would see them very quickly sent home and the servicemen would find themselves immediately called into barracks and awaiting a call to move out to an unknown location with no idea what fate had in store for them.
      It all sounds quite dramatic but it was something we planned for although it was really only an attempt to stall any advance of Soviet Forces. That is all we could do, as the saying goes, 'Plan for the worst but hope for the best'.

    FYI: Chuck Norris served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 - 1962. He was an 'Air Policeman' and was stationed in S. Korea where he first started learning karate.

    Judge Caprio: I have enormous respect for the military. It does not make a difference where you were stationed.
    Also Judge Caprio (in another case): I particularly have enormous respect for Veterans that were sent to Vietnam because of the particularities of that war.
