I am very impressed with this History ( documentry ) of Market Garden/A Bridge Too Far ; young Paratroopers, full of zeel & valor who were so valiant with their efforts to help free Holland ( The Netherlands )...they will "never grow old as we who are left to grow old..." Arthur Abeleven, Long Point NSW. AU.
Ive studied Operation Market Garden and i dind't even knew that the Old Church had the nickname The Lonsdale Church. Great video again and i love the Drone footage!
Hello TTH, I´ve found your channel via History Underground and what I have to say, I follow it. Your view of the part of the Operation Market Garden is very interesting, and I love Documentaries about Battles, when they where filmed on the spots. Bye myself, I visited Arnhem and Oosterbeek two times and I bet, not the last time. There are a lot of spots, where I wasn´t (the church for example). Bye the way, I like your dutch accent in your english. It is almost the same, if I speak english. Greetings from Germany
Thank you very much Arne for the kind words I appreciate it a lot. 👍🏼 I am working on more episodes about Operation Market Garden so perhaps something to look forwards to. Haha the tipical Dutch accent 🤣
You can see the arnhem Bridge itself in the distant background behind the Canadian monument. Very well done tribute to lesser known heroes. Edit: Lauren's corrected me, that is not the arnhem bridge in the background. My apologies.
Sander thanks for your great work....not only informative but therapeutic as well....one is left overwhelmed yet uplifted at the same time Thank you......what work do you do?
Belated video requests Sander if I may? 1. Eben Emael....its Belgian I know! 2. Dutch Army 1940 Would very much like to see your take on these Also wanted to say that I really appreciated your approach to German fallen in your videos I come from a country with a divisive past....South Africa....and having fought in our recent wars in several parts of Africa.....and my own father having fought in the WW2 British army i was pleasantly surprised at your universal human interest approach and absence of bitterness as your country was a victim of German aggression

The bridge you see is the railway bridge, not the John Frost Bridge, that one is in Arnhem centre.

Such a beautiful place with rich history. Too bad the whole continent has gone full blown socialist.
