Hi fellow History buffs!! I'm Sander, And I travel to historical places to commemorate and visualize this in order to keep history alive! And if possible, to teach people a thing or two about history.
Another reason why I started this History channel is to commemorate what the young men and women have done for us back then. Considering some of them have given the highest sacrifice so that we can life in freedom!!
Take a look at some episodes, and if you think I am doing something beautiful and nobel. Please consider clicking on the SUBSCRIBE button and share your knowledge with someone else, in order to keep history alive!!

My wife and I were honored to visit that battlefield in 2013.
It sure is a special place to visit indeed. A grass field packed with a lot of History
What's really sad about this whole thing is that Nazism is making a comeback even in America.
Great video just found your channel what a moving experience
Thanks for watching and for the kind compliment Bud!
Wow... priceless picture... May God bless us all with peace & love 🙏🏽❤
An seinem 100. Todestag stand ich an seinem Grabkreuz.
I'd love to know where this road is, so I too can visit it.
Iets the biestsestraat in biest houthakker the Netherlands
Thank you, I will visit this place when I visit Tilburg next year. My father always told me about the reception the Royal Scots got when they helped liberate Tilburg.
True, when Will you visit Tilburg next year ?
April 24th for 3 or 4 days
@@bonniescotland4008 that's cool man, hope you are able to visit the road for yourself
RIP all soldiers through out history 🙏 😪 and let us all pray that one day maybe, mankind will put a stop to any future wars, God bless 🎉🎉❤❤ 😊 cheers 🍻 from Australia 🇦🇺 😊
Ive never understood why the second lot of SS troops ran down from the top of the dike into the open field to be mowed down with the first lot. Does anyone know why they didnt just flank Easy company and catch them on the road with no cover? 🤔
belle histoire , RIP .....Superbe video
Thank you Veronique
All this waist of live, for one ideology.
I think what you do is very worthwhile in a world that has gone insane and refuses to remember the past. Lest we forget!
Thank you for complement Jamie I really appreciate that. And thanks for watching
When you look at all those graves of young men, it is truly sickening. Then, consider that that number represents ‘only’ between roughly a quarter to a tenth (!) of the MONTHLY KIA number of German soldiers each month in the year and half of 1944-45. January 1945 was the worst with an estimated 451,742 killed that month alone! That’s circa 14,500 per day, every day, for the month of January 1945. My own Grandfather was wounded out of the war in Russia, by a bullet through both legs, in 1943. In this respect, when you look at the KIA figures….he was one of the lucky ones.
Lest We Forget... Someone's loved one ..
Thank you for this video. It was heart moving for me. I saw how the cemetary was set up and I thought that it was "set Up' by Americans and you then stated the same, which made me proud of who I am and who we are here in America.
Your welcome. And thank you for watching I really appreciate that.
What about cemeteries in Russia?
Thank you so much visiting this week. Your video put me right at the right spot and you have a beautiful town.
Thank you for the kind words Paul I really appreciate it
Thanks for “walking the ground” and producing this video.
Your welcome. And thank you for watching mate I appreciate that a lot
How do you know they were not bad? How do you know that not any of these Germans were not doing any killing in the death camps? You say 40,000 of them are buried there? That's a lotta crosses as far as the eyes can see, now just imagine over 6 million Jews crosses if they were given a proper burial somewhere. There is no such thing as a good German during world war 2.
No that is not exatly corect. Yes of course there were and are many bad soliders on this grave yard. But not all of them were evil. Many were very jung and forced. Some were fathers with kids. Of course, many were evil, but not all. And therefore it is stupid to say all german were evil Nazis like the SS. Reflect yourself, and rest and peace to the inocent soldiers.
Indeed sad and so sobering..... the face of evil
O the horror of war & the stupidity of politicians who didn’t stop them!!
And now they put pictures of the soldiers who are buried there, received from their families. To give the soldier a face.
And every one a wasted life. When will we ever learn that there are no winners in war only losers.
The contrast with the white allied crosses is stunning.
It sure is stunning indeed
This is wonderful thank you
Your welcome😉 thanks for watching 👊🏼
Not all fallen soldiers deserve respect. Many of these Nazi soldiers also fought on the eastern front where they were responsible for massive war crimes. Massive. Rape, murder, torture, starvation, burning of food, supplies, burning of villages along with every man, woman and child. These Nazis were not Boy Scouts.
German army never committed any war crime
Yes of course but not evrey soldier was like that, dont forget that.
Bijzonder ontroerend verhaal
Dankjewel Remko
Sadly this is the result of wars, so many young soldiers died as a result of an evil regime in Germany. As all war cemeteries looks peaceful.
Zeer indrukwekkend. Bedankt voor het kijken
Helden
Thank you very much شكرا
Your very welcome. And thank you for watching
This one is bigger en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuville-St_Vaast_German_war_cemetery
This is a ww1 cemetery! The cemetery from the video is the largest German ww2 cemetery in western Europe.
Interesting journey !
Impressing I have also been there
When my mum came to Italy - she was very ill and had little time left to live - to see her sister a stay with me her only son, she asked me to take her to the war cemetery in Anzio. When we arrived at the US cemetery she knelt down and prayed and said “never forget the sacrifice of these young boys for the liberation of Europe “. Then she asked me to take her to the German cemetery and I asked why, they were the enemy. Mum replied “because those young boys had mothers waiting for their return and they also died doing their duty”
Well, in retrospect I feel sorry for all these lost lives but I keep in mind d that my father’s best friend 18 years old was executed in the hills of Marseille because he carried messages for the local resistance just before the war ended. My grand father and my father went to recognize the body and had to tell his mother about his fate. His mother went crazy. Not all Germans were nice.
Therheiden
Dat klopt inderdaad
Memorial to the f*ing stupidity of war. No one ever wins a war, but one side suffers unsustainable losses. It’s time to get on with DISARMAMENT talks, not rearming, not 2.5% GDP on arms. How many more cemeteries do these warmongering heads of state want?
Sets of brothers. How horrible for their families. As for the missing it makes you wonder where they could be.
Dead just a few days after turning 18.
Interesting how the Germans were buried in pairs adjacent to each other. Saves on headstones I suppose. German war cemeteries from WW1 have an occasional Star of David on a headstone. None in WWII cemeteries, though. No flags flying, as we’d ask what flag would be flown.
An interesting perspective.
Thanks Oscar 👊🏼

why are there no comments?
I have a friend from Thüringen in Germany whose grandmother lost 8 brothers at the Russian front during WW2.
Ow really that's something else. I onces heared that nearly every family in Germany had lost family members due to the Second World War. Whether they were in the military or not. Thanks for sharing mate and for watching
My Uncle, Thomas P Gogal is buried here. I was blessed to be able to visit his grave and meet the family that has been caring for his grave for 70 plus years. It is a beautiful place, something I wish all Americans were aware of and could see.
That's great indeed Lisa, iltje cemetery is always kept in the best condition as possible for sure. Thanks for watching I appreciate that
@@TravelingToHistory thank you for educating people on this sacred site and the beauty of the Dutch people.
