Enjoy the tackle tips a lot. Also really enjoy the different weather and places you fish in!
Any day is a good day fishin when your bringing them in with almost every cast, lol. Cool video Matt, thank you.
Awesome thx! Never been lucky with the surf that rough.
Just wanted to say thanks for sharing tackle info! So many don’t take the time! Live your videos! Come to N.C. and fish the banks !! Love to see that video!!
Looked like a blast, glad you stayed, and got rewarded for the effort.
Y'all had better weather than I expected. We spent all day in Lake City, Florida yesterday playing baseball in terrible rain and got fully rained out today. I hope that storm isn't headed straight for you.
Hey Matt...my husband and I really enjoy your channel. We would love to see more catch, clean, and cook videos.
Growing up in central California, we caught tons of mackerel, but not Spanish. They were really greasy, but made great cut bait for halibut. Still super fun to catch. Kinda like a baby tuna.
really fun to nail the fish with the lures especially light tackle and off the beach
Another good video. Thanks needed this dude.
Great show. Keep on fishing. The only bad time to fish is in a thunderstorm. Well I'm not sure about that because I am to smart to try
I’ve never caught Spanish in the surf - only trolling Offshore. Now NC has a limit of six fish per person. Long ago my brother and I caught 85 in a little more than an hour. We caught half of those on hand lines rigged with bungee cords right behind the boat. I love to eat them. I like to catch king mackerel but absolutely hate to eat them. Great video!
Every good fisherman starts of with a hand line. 🇺🇸⚓️
Enjoy watching you,stay safe
Matt, can you show us what lure you are using before you start casting? Also, what time you start and first catch.. etc.. It would be beneficial for anglers who want to catch the same fish as you caught.
That's the fishing I love right there.
I love it when the Spanish are running, there no better time to go fishing! Nice catch!
My pb Spanish came from the pier and was almost 5 lbs. I was catching em an average of the size you’re catching on a bubble float and spoon. Most of em ain’t for to be released when caught that way because it tears their gills out anyways. Me and my son was 3 shy of our limit when I caught the big one. I got a picture somewhere
All that wind is from that tropical storm heading towards eastern Louisiana, and parts of Mississippi.
It was nice seeing those Spanish hitting...never caught any when I lived in New Orleans and fished over by Bay St. Louis and over towards Biloxi.
Love to see you fish off the pier and catch some more of those giant Sheepshead. And can you do some more catch and cook?
Great video I'd fish in that much wind to catch fish like that. Great job.
Getting windy here too, tropical storm about to hit us
Matt , looks like ya had a great time even with the wind. Seems like more fun casting as just regular surf fishing. Still you are master at both . Way ta go. Tom Daytona Beach, FL.
Thanks for the videos. My son and I are going to try Gulf State Park Pier for the first time at the end of July. Any suggestions on what to fish for and rigging?
...fishing is always great, catching something is a bonus..lol..nice video.enjoy and keep safe..
Fantastic video, love catching Spanish. God bless
Okay buddy, you got a new subscriber. Always like watching your show.
Interesting you mention the Star rod....I used them yrs ago and always liked them and just started looking into them for use up on the Great Lakes. You like them?
Just in time for some fun today awesome
Love this channel 🎣👍🏻🎣👍🏻🎣👍🏻🎣👍🏻
Dude you was smoking them!! Nice!!
Super outing. Just curious did you do this outing on Friday or Saturday . As a newbie on surf fishing wondered how the Tropical storm would impact fishing before and after the storm
Yuuh. I love the videos homie
What do you think will be biting down there at the end of July. Also am looking for a few hour trip that targets Spanish, redfish, kings, etc any ideas?
Matthew, I have never caugh5 a Spanish Macciral yet,I moved to Alabama a little over a year ago, I haven't caught a trout or even a shark yet. Have you ever tried shark? Would like to know how they taste or if they are nasty. Never too old to learn new fishing techniques. Love all your videos, especially the cape cod videos.
Great video.
Guessing it's going to get rougher with the storm coming in. Yall be safe.
Good day in the surf. I've got a few questions.
Saw you caught some blue runners. If I recall correctly, you said that your wife liked to eat the blue runners? Are they a good tasting fish?
Is the pompano bite still on? I know the peak has passed, but can you still hook up on them easily?
Cheers! and Thanks.
Be safe, Matthew. Look like flooding might be the biggest problem from this storm.
Great video very informative! Can't thank you enough for all the tackle tips! T-up subd
Can you post exactly what your light setup is rod, reel, line lure etc.
You did good. Nice.
Enjoy your presentations, Matt, but a quick comment about what beach you're fishing would be very helpful.
you are lucky Man! I am on the south east coast and dealing with this bull shit sea weed all over the place
Great video. How do you prepare your spanish to eat?
In South Africa we call those "Spanish" Horse Mackrel
What kinda light gear are you using? I'm going to be camping south of Charleston, figure I'll try my luck.
These vids have inspired me to get a surf rod for our trip this year, thanks for putting them out! Why do You bleed them out? I need all the tips I can get.
It helps cut out the "fishy" taste associated with species that tend to be bloodier.
I was wondering what you recommend for fishing pliers ?
Matt, Please comment about the micro fiber grass all along the Pensacola, Navarre beach last week making it impossible to surf fish. I just returned from a five day trip (6/1-6/5) from TN that I had been planning for months only to be totally skunked. I made one cast and had to pull my line in by hand, then cut the leader in order to strip the wads off. Your dated videos seem to indicate that you didn't have this problem.
It's really great 👍
Please what was the lure used? Thx
Sweet!
Love this channel. Heading to SC was wandering if you tie the lure on the braid or do you add a shock leader?
Leader, Spanish have good eye sight
Nice job bro
Where you pick that rod up at? I’m over around Mobile.
They are uber fast😂😂😂
When your on the surf how do you know if it’s a good spot to fish or not ?
Good video! How long is your leader?
I can’t find your steelhead fishing rod. Know where I can find one? Thanks
I'd like to see how you cook spanish mackerel. Ive been looking for a new recipie for them
3 equal portions of mayonnaise, soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Blend all 3 together then baste fish filets. Bake it, fry it, broil it or grill it. Can’t go wrong!
Smoking them is the best! Makes great fish spread!
Met you at the bait shop the other morning. Love to hear the drag pulling off...that's fishing to me. Nice to add in the technical info as well as the fishing regs info! "That's a fatty!"....LOL...Nice! Great video!
What diamond jig were you using?
I struggled to get up yestoday morning but failed, should not be frightend by the storm
What is the little mic that you use for your audio?
On the day this video was posted, 1 year later, I will be offshore fishing with Zeke’s Marina starting 6am -12 noon. I can’t wait until it’s time to go! less than 3 weeks!!
Dang it, I was planning on going this morning, now I wish I did but the weather made me decide not to go
In Trinidad we have another name for the Spanish we call them Carite ..nice cooking fish
Fun day!
I haven't caught a Spanish yet so I'm new to them. Is it normal to bleed them
I’m on the beach in Phoenix 5 right now it’s bad
Go pier fishing in navarre or Pensacola and buy a penn 706z too
Tienes que tradusir tambien en Espanyol , gracias !
I never get any bites with my lures on the beach, I got the gotcha, diamond jigs, and the Halco, but nothing ....any tips???
Do you guide inshore for reds in November
Can you do more clean and cook vids??
Just cautious, how many rods can you have out with your license? Here in co. You are allowed 1 rod. If you opt for 1 extra rod stamp for I think $6.
What beach are you fishing , is that your favorite one?
Looks like you can catch them in any weather or conditions. Keep the videos coming.
Can you do a shark catch clean and cook?
I know you probably won’t see this, but do you have any advice about what rods to use for surf fishing? Less than $150 dollars would be good. I just need a good rod, reel, and know what type of line to use. Thanks 🙏
Ok so bit of a question,
I have 2 surf rods that are way too beefy for smaller fish med hvy 1-6 oz
I was looking at a 9ft surf rod rated 1/2-1 1/2
Med with a mod fast tip would this be good?
Also found a non surf rod in the 8.5ft range rated at 1/4-2oz it says med hvy but not sure how it actually feels gotta go check it.
Is there a reason to use a "surf" style rod vs a normal spinning setup?
I want it to throw small spoons, bucktails, paddle tails etc.
Was actually considering the okuma rockaway rod thats the 1/2- 11/2 rated rod
Tried finding that rod online but couldn’t. Anyone have a link I’d appreciate it. Star Aerial 8.6ft Steelhead???
"Spanish Mackerel,, the most expensive little fish you'll ever fish for!" How many lures did you get cut off? And do yourself a favor,, look into Big Nics Fishing,, especially his Spanish Candy!
what size is the rod and reel?
When can you take me fishing? I’ll be here thru the 11th
Bear campfire talk... "Yeah, those humans are pretty slow, but they fight hard. I like to just pop their jugulars out, let 'em bleed on out" :P
Hope everybody is having a nice day
So I’m moving to Alabama now 😭😂
Where exactly is this at on the beach? I’ve been having a hard time getting Spanish this past week
Terry Nickell think across from Caribe
Fishing in the morning, killing zombies in the afternoon
You should always tell us what time of month or what month of the year you are fishing for each and every fish
Watt kind of lure are you using my name josh am your number one fan
What beach is that?
All of your works will thank you, Lord,
and your faithful followers will praise you.
Wading out and casting to Cuba for shark?
And size
Keep making excuses . Have not made it to the bama beach . Love the ruff surf . So much fun .
How bad can it be, to be able to fish on the beach.
LIFE IS GOOD.!!!
DRINK IT UP. !!!
Just wondering who keeps going with the thumbs down. This is good stuff.
I am convinced that there are folks that make it a practice to just go through every video they can find and thumb them down, for fun, for mean-ness...who knows. I doubt they even watch any of them.
Ole South Adventures ....some worthless pos with nothing better to do until momma calls him for dinner.
Hey bama beach bum! Where can I contact you to book a trip?
www.staybummy.com is the best way. Also, Bama Beach Bum on Facebook works. Shoot him a PM.
