Yo tuve la oportunidad de vivir en El Salvador, este video es muy informativo. Gracias por tu tiempo y si alguien tiene más preguntas acerca de El Salvador tal vez tenga la respuesta a las que tengan.
Gracias hunter brimhall 😊
Aprendisté español en el Salvador?
@@salvadoralexanderfloreszun3133 sí, estuve allí por dos años.
I have a problem I am half Spanish and half salvadorian I was born in Spain but my father’s accent had a big impact on me so I sound like a sluring salvadorian and no one can ever tell when I’m from 😢
You ve got the best from both world. Dont worry too much, as long as people understand you :)
Me gusto esto :D gracias por ablar de el pais que yo nasi en :3 (im english as well btw qwq)
are you from El Salvador 🇸🇻
Great animation and music in the video. I would just add two things: in my experience, “Chero/Chera” means friend, not boy/girl. Also, “hijueputa” should have been number 1. That gets used way more than any other expression. Even your mom would call you that despite the fact that she is technically insulting herself.
Thanks for the tips!😊
I learned 7 new words
Excellente
_Nice video, but just don't forget the tilde (`). Púchica comes with tilde on ú_
My kid is half Peruvian and half Salvadorian. So I gotta teach him the slang from both countries.
Way to go amigo! The best of two similar words :D
You Peruvian or Salvadoran?
Que cheveré vos
I know all of these words cuz i was born there
No se use "bicho" afuera de el Salvador porque "bicho" significa otra cosa😅
Muy bien. Puedes ver mi canal de Ingles. Learn English World
Chera mind amigo no se confundan
im sure its voz not vos
voz is voice and vos is you.
Ba pues vos
¡Excellent video my friend! 👍 Thank you for talking about my homeland (El Salvador) 🇸🇻
It's a rea😊😊l pleasure to talk about El Salvador my amigo. I will be producing additional videos specifically about El Salvador. Stay tuned!
The only thing is that he didn’t say “que chivo!” But I understand because it’s most common with the older generation.
Or the rural areas or just the one not in capital city in general
That means cool my family is from El Salvador
Que chiva esa onda
Or Mira vos
Im starting to think my parents aren’t Honduran they say all of these except bicho
Mis papas son de El Salvador pero yo nací en los Estados Unidos 😭 cuando hablo español me trabo con unas palabras, no se como usar estas palabras casualmente. esto me ayudo mucho graciass ✨(sorry if my Spanish isn’t that good 😭)
It happens if you work with any other Hispanic. The accent is just different
Yo tambien ( I was born in the us too and my family is also from El Salvador)
Same bruh I’m trying to learn more spanish Salvadoreño cause want to connect more with my roots you know?
Same but thankfully my dad uses all these words so I grew up saying them except with 3 words in the vid
Hello, I hope this helps to provide clarity and not seen with negative intent.
I'm Salvadorean and wanted to clarify that the word "Chero (male)" and "Chera (female)" is a common Salvadoran slang used to describe a good friend. It's like saying "bud or buddy".
Example:
Eng: "Cody and Greg are good buds!"
Sal: "Chepe y Moris son Buenos cheros! "
Also puchica is an expression used for amazement and frustration. It's not a curse word and everyone including children freely use it. It's like saying "holy cow! or daaang!" when amazed by how expensive something is or how attractive someone can be. Similarly, "dang it! or Geez!" When you miss a game winning point or spill coffee on yourself.
A well known qoute from Hank Hill, from the animated TV show "King of the hill" is "Dang it bobby! " to express Hanks frustration towards his pre-teen son. In El Salvador, that same quote can be translated to "Puchica Bobby!".
Anyway, just trying to help.
Regards,
1
Bayunco is a person that is acting in a way that is out of the norm and a tad offensive and ridiculous.
¡Hola! Thanks for making video about El Salvador, it's my first favourite latin american country and I really want to know more about the cultures 😃🇸🇻
Btw, I'm learning spanish too. Saludos desde Indonesia 🇮🇩
_Ohh wow... Thank you for loving us._
Halo temanku! Terima kasih banyak! Aku seorang Salvador namun cinta bangsa Indonesia banyak! Aku mau tahu kultur Indonesia juga, dan makanya sedang belajar bahasa. 😍🇮🇩

Sorry. I don't get you ?????
My sons dad is salvadoreño and I’m Mexican American I would like for him to learn this and try the food as well besides the Mexican culture and American

Lol, just wish I didn’t know boring English, especially American English

Also, Chulon can be used for someone who is naked. As a Salvadorian, i laughed at my own slang. Puchica mano
Ha, ha! True... "chulón": so funny word! :-)
Thanks for the video. My parents are El Salvadoran but I am trying to learn Spanish (due to living in the US). Thank you very much 🙏🏽
De nada amigo 😊
🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻
I’m watching this video but I already know Spanish
Thanks amigo :)
Bro I know and say like 90% of these
Way to go Jose! :)
You forgot la chota meaning La policía ¯\_ʘ‿ʘ_/¯
Lo tendre en mente la proxima vez que suba un video sobre El Salvador
@@LearnSpanishWorld la Jura= la policía
En realidad esa frase es mexicana, ya es de cada quién qué diga frase de otros países.
Yo sólo se qué en El Salvador se les dice "Jura" pero esa frase no se dice ya qué es un vocabulario pandillero.
Im half Salvadoran and half Panamanian and my dad says all of these! buen video!
Muchas gracias José 👍
I’m Salvadoran and black but my dad doesn’t live with me and I don’t see him that often so now I’m learning
P.S. Las expresiones del final del video son correctas, pero habría que especificar que son expresiones (todas) muy vulgares (eso incluye "huevones", etc.) y que en contextos no familiares/sociales no deberían ser untililizadas. Ejemplo: No se le dice a un jefe, "Es que x persona es "un huevón", se la pasa todo el día "pajareando"). Lo mismo con "cagarla", ^dar paja", etc. Se habla así sólo entre "cheros" (que también significa "amigo") o familia. Saludos.
I am planning to visit El Salvador one day. I would like to learn some more Salvadorian Spanish. Can anyone recommend a good resource online? Many thanks. 👍
Mans has a dog that would literally rip your hand off 😅 beautiful dog regardless
i don’t say cabal i say cabalito but that’s how i talk most people say cabal nice video 👍🏽
Gracias :)
Chavala means enemy.
Mara means Gang
Marero mens gangster
Thanks for providing more info :)
Derp Trolling yes I heard my grandma talking about them
That's actually new, but in old time before gangs Mara is actually people or guys that you are tight to, that term is now used to them but if you hear some old people talking about them friends or family don't be weird out about it.
Never say "Chavala"
Or Pandillero
Everytime I’m with my Hispanic grandma and I see a dog: “es uno chucho!”
Bayunca a veces lo usamos como penosa o tímida
Can you incorporate more SPANISH sentences with the words for futures videos? I went to ES once and improved my Spanish but I would love more Spanish oriented videos (less English, more Spanish). Just my 2 cents
Check my Advanced Spanish playlist. These videos are mainly for beginners to intermediate, but if you check my Advanced playlist you may find something more challenging for you level. Saludos :)
@@LearnSpanishWorld muchas gracias, maje!
I love that the title for your video says "Salvadoran" and I hate that in your video you say "Salvadorian/ Slvadorean." Many people from El Salvador get offended when called Salvadorian/ Salvadorian. That's like saying in Spanish "Slavadoriano"
Chucho is a slang word for dog though. It's like in America when someone calls a dog a pooch lol
9:52 lmaooo btw that's a vulgar word as well, instead of poo it'll translate more to "shit"
Ja, ja! Me ha encantado... Sólo una cosita: "chucho" es un vocablo castellano (se utiliza aún en España para designar a un perro mestizo... de raza indefinida). Muchos salvadoreños creen que es una palabra que proviene del nahuatl, pero no es así. Gracias por el video... ¡Es genial!
Is it like a bad word?
@@thatssosofia7201 Not at all. When you say "It's a chucho" in Spain (not in Latin America) you're talking about something like a stray dog.
@@jeagia4462 ohhh ok, I also have a question. I’m mixed and my dad is the one that is Salvi, but I don’t know his side of the family and so I didn’t grow up with him speaking a lot of Spanish near me, I really want to learn but I don’t know how and I don’t want to learn Spain spanish, do you know how I can learn Salvadoran spanish?
nah we do eat uvas
Nice, I will be learning El salvador 🇸🇻 language in 2 months. Looking forward to it
good video thank you 👍
Thanks my friend
A dream lead me here
😃
Vaya pues o Va pues.
Good video friend, you won a new subscriber! :D
Muchas gracias mi amigo. Aprecio mucho tu apoyo. Un abrazo 😊
Los mexicanos say vato o guey meaning friend but for us as salvadoreños we say chero o maje
Gracias for the additional info 😊
I thought maje meant something else. And i've never heard chero
@@roninjolin7687 maje can also mean like wassup asshole as a joke to a friend but it can also mean as an insult to a person. Chero just means friends
Como salvadoreño estas son las palabras más importantes para aprender❤🇸🇻
Great video, but just a note.... we're going to REVIEW these words before going to El Salvador; we're not going to "revise" them. 😉
I accidentally came accross this today and I remembered your observation....I live in Australia. I was wondering why all my teacher colleagues use Revise. The verb revise has the same meaning as review, but it is used more in British and Australian English: She's revising her notes. You need to revise for your exam if you want to pass it. Revise also has another meaning in both American and British English.
"Machete en tu vaina"...or the more popular, "No seas meque"!
Yo so be el Salvador e todo esta bien 😂😂
Eres para Chucho cipoté
My mom in a conversation: “la cipotas .........
La karen

SALVADOR! SALVADOR!
Hermoso país ☺

Muchas gracias por la video
Es un placer. Gracias por tu comentario. Saludos amigo 😊😊😊
Very nice video I enjoyed it.
Adding a little bit:
- one more thing about “vaya pues” we shorten it…. “Va’ pue’ “
- Saluuu and adios, “saluuu” is for friends or siblings, we use it as a casual or informal word while “Adiós” is formal, like talking to an older person, to an stranger, or parents.
- jocote and uvas are two completely different fruits, is NOT another way to call grapes.
Gracias Samuel 😊
Jocote are olives
What’s a Jacote?
Does anyone know what torcimiento means? My mom is salvadorian and she always says that lololo
Torcir is to twist
Torcer*
Thanks for these videos! Very helpful
Great channel. Gracias!
Thank you Eric. Saludos
Bayunco is bad if your not Salvadorion
Thanks for the additional info
Yes bayunco can be used as a bad word in El Salvador or just as a joke
Yes! "Bayunco" or "vallunco" (que viene del valle, gente simple, llana) means "funny", "goofy" as well...
@@jeagia4462 yea i thought bayunco meant goofy or silly
Machete estate en tu vaina no es salvadoreño
Thanks for this lesson. I would like to know how to say Papa and Mama in Salvadoran Spanish. Thanks for your time and understanding.
what i've seen most people from el salvador just say "mama/mami for mom, and "papa, papi, or tata" for dad
