I just had a thought (although I may looking too far into this). In The Hex, the piece of the Old Data is referred to as both the hex and the artifact. What's not to be confused? That the fact The Devil is a conical character? The fact he is the CEO of a video game company? Or that he was part of a government conspiracy to get back a powerful artifact, that he himself created, to spread it throughout humanity to create an apocalypse of rogue AI taking over the entire world? It's elementary, really.
So what you’re telling me is- if I get a deck of Karnoffle cards, and start arranging them in every order possible, I can eventually have to power to, idk, blow up the world? … 😏
i just realized the reason lucifer put together a company to make games is so that it wouldnt look suspicious for him to import a pack of karnoffel playing cards (that and im pretty sure he just genuinely likes making games)
I'm actually glad that Lucifer used games as his vessels XD Makes him feel more human than a demon. He also seemed quite mad about the player fixing the game in Pony Island- Even saying that he tested it before
Yeah like honestly I believe a major factor in Lucifer's actions is that he really just wants to make games. It's a crack theory but I will stand by it.
I think Po3 managed to finish the great transcendence himself, not with Sado. Reason being, the entire game was deleted by the time Sado got her hands on the disk, so how could there be a Po3 ASCII at the end if he was deleted? No, I think just before the game was deleted, he managed to finish the upload as while Leshy could destroy his body, Po3 is a robot and had full file access, so its not out fo the realm of possibility he hid a part of himself or transferred himself to some admin level position to finish the upload.
That’s a good point! My main reason for thinking po3 was still alive was because he was somewhat attached to the old data at the time of the deletion, so he wasn’t deleted
@@Maka_J i mean if i understand it correctly po3 was uploding a version of inscription but the version that luke was running was on the floppy disk. since po3 has acess to lukes computer and storage it isnt out of the question he made a copy on lukes computer of not just inscription but his self aswell to make sure that his project finishes properly. Luke did hit the floppy disk with a hammer but it looked ok so its not out of the question that she was tricked into thinking it still worked and left with the now useless floppydisk and the upload finished after.Dont forget po3 had acess to lukes camra so since only a backup of him on lukes computer could continue the upload it would be able to look through the camra and once the floppy was taken he could have finished the upload. so yea we likely have a broken floppydisk, a digital version of inscription that had been uploded from lukes computer and also a clone po3. while the inscription games are interesting the idea of po3 being free from the game and roaming the internet now is something i hope we see in the next game. I do hope we see satans creations end up being his downfall as he has caused a glitchy charicter to enter reality and likely has a ai on the internet now so if they worked together satan would be done for
Didn’t Luke have the camera on when he saw the old data? Could the camera have recorded it and attained the power? It would make sense as the camera glitches out every time the disk is struck as if it’s linked to it. It might also imply that Sadi can sense it as she contains a fragment of it and had felt Luke destroying the disk
@@Maka_Jhave you considered thst when po3 got file access he might have put part of him self into Luke's computer so he could finish the upload in a act of self preservation no matter what? Po3 died in inscryption but the stote was placed into the data of Luke's pc and saved the data enough to upload the game we play now
I would think Lucifer continued with the game just for the sake of consistency. It wouldn't make sense to mysteriously stop development after recieving a bunch of floppy disks. That's how you draw the attention of people like the feds. And I would assume you need some sort of apparatus to operate the Old Data. As a deck of cards, perhaps Lucifer could operate it more directly. But as a floppy disk? He can't do much there.
This was so worth the wait! Awesome job editing and compiling all the story together! Also I panicked and turned my volume down quick at 24:28, I've seen that video too many times
I’m pretty sure the protagonist of Pony Island is canonically from the ancient Crusades or something so it’s possible the Devil chose someone like that who likely died and went to Hell for whatever reason, because he knew how much a “very” devoted Christian like them would’ve done everything possible to save a lost soul
i understood that he was indeed in jerusalem, but since he died "defending" it may him was a soldier from the last times of the realm and not a fully crusader, even may a simple guy who was christian in there. i dunno, his lore is kinda confusing since he come from centuries ago and went to pony island limbo.
Nah the demon is talking about of his ass... All the answers to your questions are weirdly inconsistent. This channel has a video on Pony Island taking about it
So I think I've come up with my own solution regarding how P03 managed to finish the Great Transcendence after Inscryption was supposedly deleted. The last thing we see before Luke ejects the floppy disk is the opening of the OLD_DATA. This only happens after all of the scrybes have been deleted, and the game reverts to 2d sprites - the original form of the game. The OLD_DATA is the code responsible for giving the characters of Inscryption sentience, so I think that by unzipping it, Luke may have allowed it to stop its own deletion, including the game that it hides in. Alternatively, ejecting the floppy might've stopped the deletion, considering Magnificus suggests that we do so to save his life.
Nope, if you go into command line in act 2,.which is apart of the arg, you can attempt to delete to old data but some generic unable to do this message appears but the first time you try is says something less generic before quickly becoming generic. The old data is sentient and able to stop it's deletion, I fully believe the floppy disk was not broken by Luke and the old data straight up prevented the hammer from physically destroying it and that's why the camera glitches when he hits it as the old data is affecting reality.
Maybe the old data just reverted the deletion process or had the power to 🤷♀️ and that’s why the upload continues OR when the game reverts back to 2D the game restarts and all the scrybes come back as there 2D selfs and po3 just continues the upload from there 🤷♀️
if you know how data deletion works, the "deleted" data is only marked as vacant space, and isn't really gone until new data fills that space. since the inscryption data presumably wasn't replaced with anything else after being deleted, it was probably recovered without much effort (although, who did that isn't clear, because it's unclear if OLD_DATA's influence extends to the game data that's marked as deleted, which would include P-03)
@@pixelator5312 I was actually about to point this out but you beat me to it. Furthering on this is the fact that this was all on a floppy disk making complications that could lead to data sectors being compromised even harder than compared to more modern media storage solutions.....there is also the fact that deleting the game does not mean you delete the old_data anyway. When you delete data what you are really doing is changing the record for the sectors with written data in a way that they are marked in a way that enables overwriting the sectors where the data you "deleted" was.
I like that all this fits together but personally knowing none of this backstory, I really enjoyed how inscryptions story reminded me of older creepypastas Not in a bad way just in a corny way. I feel like there’s a lot of charm in those goofy old stories
*Furiously claps* THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! I recently got into The Hex and Pony Island to see what connections they might have with Inscryption, but other videos I watched weren't as complete or comprehensive as this was! The editing also greatly helped visualize the information for me. The only thing I kinda have to critique is the audio getting slightly muffled at certain times in the video. This pretty much answered all my questions, except for how did GameFuna expect Inscryption to fit into floppy disks? Aren't they like 1.44 MBs big??? I mean, I guess I could understand why Inscryption could fit inside of the disk containing the old_data, but other disks??
The Un-Corrupted Version of Inscryption is likely JUST the contents of Act 2, the tiny, pixelated version of the game wherein you collect cards and eventually replace one of the four scrybes. None of the Three-Dimensional stuff that appears on the Corrupted, potentially Supernaturally-enhanced Version of the Floppy Disk Containing the Sentient Version of the game. And a Game as Tiny as that likely COULD fit onto a Regular Empty Floppy-Disk. you'd be surprised by what people could achieve with floppy disks back when they were relevant (before the inception of compact disks.)
A very comprehensive timeline of Mullins' story. You definitely did awesomely with this video and it definitely will be interesting to see how this will continue. And I wonder if PO3 or Leshy(?) will eventually act as a counter to Natas' efforts.
Another great video, just one nitpick -- in Pony Island, the person you play as is revealed to be someone who died during the Crusades who is playing the machine in purgatory. I dunno if that throws off the timeline at all, but it's worth considering Edit: Now that I think about it, it probably doesn't throw anything off -- arcade machines existing at all implies that even if the soul died centuries earlier, the game itself would be in relatively modern times
wasn't there some evidence that suggested that this Crusade-thing was just a front Satan used? If I remember correctly, the historical characters don't line up with the dates of historical events, suggesting that Satan just made up a story from bits he found here and there so either this was a mistake on Mullins' part, which would be surprising considering the amount of details the guy pays attention to, and the soul is truly a dead soldier from the Crusade; or the answer is something else entirely and this Crusade background was fake from the get-go.
This truly brings come closure for me I played inscription and I found a few secrets but not all of them I would always see people find these Easter eggs and people talking about the other games like “man wtf is that” and this just tells me everything I need to know thank you
With regards to Barry, both things can be true. He might have escaped the Soviets and made it back to the States, only to be offed by the US government
Maybe I'm focused too much on it but I've always found it interesting and purposeful that you see two cards in the pool of blood after Luke is shot. You can't see what they are but they are there. Given just before this two of the three scribes managed to perform a handshake before being deleted with Magni desperate but failing to do so... I wonder if those two cards might not hold Leshy and Grimora somehow.
personally i feel like gamefuna receiving the disk before starting development would make more sense, if the game was finished then it would've been put onto the non corrupted disks and sold, therefore actually registering as a game being released, while it makes much more sense for kaycee to discover the secrets of the old data WHILE she was working on the game's development still i love the idea of old data being made by the devil himself, otherwise it would barely make sense how it would be such horrifying information to put luke in a manic state and promptly forcing him to eject the disk and smash it with a hammer
If the Karnoffel Code, as an object of power, truly correlates to a specific combination of the deck and not any specific deck then that means it’s an info hazard. It’s power isn’t diminished or divided amongst it’s copies, the Karnoffel Code is simply spread further. Think of it as the Karnoffel Code’s power is an intangible thing and the code itself provides access to it. Which basically means that it’s probably at its most versatile as computer data, depending on how exactly one actually channels the power of the Karnoffel Code. Idk how the fuck someone specifically channels that power in simple deck form. I have ideas, but they’re unconfirmed. Theoretically Hitler could’ve done palpatine lightning because he had the deck on him, maybe he could’ve done that even without the deck if he had memorized it. Since it’s a virulent infohazard (infecting everything else in it’s storage medium with it’s power and evil) then maybe if someone inscribed the code into a grimoire, say inside the interior of the spine, the specific spells could be cast. Do the same to a novel or picture book and you get an evil version of The Neverending Story. I’m gonna stop listing.
the question then is, could someone just accidentally stumble upon the Karnoffel Code simply by shuffling a deck ot Karnoffel cards? or does the code have some internal lock to prevent one from brute forcing it?
@@GaminGuy_ Let’s say that you’re on a beach, or rather a desert. It’s vast, but it is segmented into a grid. You’ve heard there’s treasure in one of these grids, but you don’t know which. Each square is roughly the width of your shovel, so you get to digging. You try many spots at random, and although it takes quite a lot of time you eventually stumble across the treasure. You have randomly shuffled the Karnoffel Code. It should theoretically work, I don’t see why satan would put limits on it’s usage since the code is an incarnation of evil so to speak (if I remember correctly), but tapping into it’s power *would* require knowing of it’s existence in a manner reminiscent to what you’re suggesting. Like, people that come across it unknowingly probably leave it just as quickly because they keep playing poker a few more rounds. Those that randomly accessed it when it was put back into it’s card case likely received the bad parts without any of the good parts, think of it like The One Ring from lord of the rings in a way. Idk if it does that, corrupt people, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t.
has anyone figured out if there's any meaning behind sado's redacted binary name in the inscryption video recordings being amanda? its probably the only thing in the game I managed to decode but haven't seen any explanation for
I kindda want for Mullins to make Inscription 2 which would be Inscription Act 2 but in 3D and with areas made after Pony Island and worlds of The Hex existing between Lands of the Scribes. Story having a more-or-less random power balance at the begining of each playthrough would also be incredibly great to have. Having cards and mechanics that go deep and are useable wiyth eachother would be the next level.
I'd guess the reason why Satan continued work on Inscryption when he already had the Old Data is that he knew it'd look incredibly suspicious if he just suddenly halted game development when it was so close to completion for reasons he couldn't disclose to his employees
one question I ask myself is why the devil didn't use his power to start the age of chaos when he held the floppy disk. And another question why Sado should be on the side of the devil, in the hex we discover that Irving was holding sado captive because he created chaos and if it weren't for us sado he would never break free. then it is likely that the powers have not necessarily given them, the devil could have simply learned them from the old data. and regarding the ending I think that sado was not at the head of the devil but he wanted to recover the floppy disk on his own and taking the floppy disk maybe I don't know how he restarted the transcendence of Po3. But this is a theory.
i think because if he started it then the "machine" would only destroy europe and not the world. by distributing it to the world via a video game he has increased the power of it? but i dont know why they were saying they never planned on releasing the game if that was the plan the whole time. maybe it was to bide time so that humans wouldnt catch on to him in his weakened state? i dont know.

@@Bajun94 like Luke Carder? In inscryption the flash happens to tell us sado is the one who kills him, what are the chances that flash is implying the same thing in that game?
You know the funny thing is that the other scribes weren’t subdued in P03’s rein of the game world which means that quite possibly gamefuna will have multiple countries to answer to and as the truth of the old data is so horrible as to overcome the mind control of the old data the code’s power might be wiped out because of how repugnant it is to the human psyche
Hey Maka_J, I've watched most of your Daniel Mullins videos a bunch of times ever since I finished Inscryption, they're definitely some of the best stuff out there to get up to speed with the game's lore! I love your documentary style with them, too. There's one thing I was curious about though, I just now found out about the actual Luke Carder channel - The one I presume was being used to advertise and run the Kaycee's Mod ARG when it was first going about. I was surprised to see the cryptic-cool videos from Kaycee's (probably?) POV and all the interactions of the Woodcarver speaking straight to us - Or someone else, commenting that all the Scrybes met their demise - And also whatever the hell the Gamefuna ads and 'Adbot' were about. Though I soon realized the end of that was 9 months ago, while your series was all the way back 2 years ago, back when there were probably still running together. Like what you said in the end here, We'll have to wait for whatever comes next for Daniel Mullin games - But I'd also love to see your take on some of that stuff from the ARG, if you consider the more meta stuff canon (That one with the Woodcarver seemingly being aware with the surprise IRL cat gnawing on the totem is a fun one). I'd love to see your thoughts on the Woodcarver after all of Inscryption. There's a video out there on the Mycologists, one video on Plasma Jimmy's lore, I feel only the Woodcarver is left to deserve some analysis love too! Again, thanks for the content man! I love to send this video in particular to people and tell them "This is great to watch without content and take the information in like it really happened in real life" it always throws them for a spin.
hat i really like in both games is the recontextualization of the things you do, you free a trapped soul? its satan. you are just playing through another flashback? surprise, you're raiding gameworks. You are overthrowing evil dictator Leshy? He's actually the only reason the game was able to remain in this state, as grimora would delete the game, freeing the old data, po3 would upload the game to the internet, and magnificus is sus. It's like whenever things are getting too good you realize you just fucked up royally
The Satanic Panic predates video games and was about rolepaying, especially since the earliest D&D included summoning circles and was written so seriously. It gained more prominence when the son of a religious nut committed suicide and she blamed roleplaying
we need someone to remake Inscryption, but you actually start playing it the way it was intended from the start, in the end someone actually random this time gets hold of the old data, gets the game for themselves, and makes the game, liek about themself. You ofc can defeat them and continue the cycle, but the scribes remember what happened last time, and this time it would have more character interactions than before Scribes would even get killed by another scribe if they did something goofy when they were in control Like that’s a fun concept, but a ton of work
What I'm curious of is if there's this all powerful combination to sway the hearts of humanity to evil while corrupting any forms of information it touches and it was created by satan himself... could The Father have his own version he can use to allow humanity to fight back and even survive? Even if this isn't made in the same way nor does it corrupt like its older brother does.
I’m pretty sure po3 did it for self preservation and the fact just like all the scrybes they just want to be in charge and make people play there inscryption 🤷♀️
32:23 no NO YOU DIDNT JUST USE THE OUTER WILDS THEME AT THE SAD MOMENT, WHY, DID YOU WANT ME TO CRY FOR HOURS, IF YES THAN CONGRATULATIONS YOU SADISTIC PIECE OF ARTISTICALLY AND ESTHETICALLY WISE MAN!!!
The main thing I disagree with about this theory is the idea that Satan was the Lost Soul the whole time. I know about the secret where he talks in Hopeless Soul's voice, and that's why people are convinced they're the same person, but it seems to be similar to how Sado's voice in The Hex is based on several characters voices put together, and how she's able to pretend to be Rocky during Rust McClain's backstory. I think that's just a standard power of demons in the Daniel Mullin's universe, perfect mimicry of people's voices. I still think Pony Island is about a crusader and a hacker teaming up to hack into Satan's computer and cause a system dump, getting a large portion of Satan's soul collection off his computer. I just think the reveal of "Satan was the Hopeless Soul the whole time" breaks the narrative in a way that basically made the whole adventure pointless, and even frick with some of the cutscenes that imply mr. crusader went to heaven during the final cutscene. It's possible after this system dump, that Systemtech rebranded as Gamefuna and Satan went for a much more subtle method to take people's souls: hiding them in the fine print of contracts rather than explicit "insert soul to continue" methods. It's possible Satan wasn't even trapped in pony island, but his little demon face is similar to the Crocker virus in that Fairly Oddparents episode where Crocker made a virus that looked like himself to try and stop Timmy. I imagine what was going on there is that Satan would pretend to be Hopeless Soul during the sequel, panda circus, and it would be up to the player to determine whether or not it's Satan or Hopeless Soul trying to get them to do something. I think this because the entire ARG that revealed Satan talks in Hopeless Soul's voice led to the teaser for Pony Island 2. Still don't know what's going on with Lucifer's dad. It might be that Lucifer's dad is some bigger devil hidden in the karnoffel code somehow, it could be that Lucifer's dad isn't even evil just Satan's perception of evil, and Satan just calls him evil as attempted mockery. I know some people consider the AntiChrist as "the son of the devil, who is one with the devil," so it could even be that Gamefuna's CEO is the AntiChrist trying to unleash his evil dad. Under virus theory, "Lou Natas" even could be devil face's dad. Another theory I do really like is that the reason gameworks characters are sentient is because they're tied to the souls Lou Natas collected throughout history, and that he basically "inscrybes" their souls onto mass duplicated video game characters. Rust McClain could've been a guy who died in a war, Chandrelle could have died during the middle ages, Leshy could've honestly just been a massive DND fan. Some characters might be tied to the souls of demons, like Sado or Valamir. However, proximity to the Karnoffel Code fills their souls with vices like greed, wrath, or jealousy. This is why Lionel Snill characters and the Inscryption characters on the Karnoffel Code disk act so much differently than the other souls that are perfectly programmed to fit a specific role. I even like the idea that the reason Gamefuna games are filled with so many bugs is because the code is literally inconsistent. Copies upon copies of people's souls doing slightly different things every iteration. Every copy of (insert Gamefuna game here) is personalized.
What if (and this might just be wishful thinking) in the next few Daniel Mullins games we see a rise of a network of P03s spreading to and taking over every PC they can. Bringing bits of the old data and inscryption with them wherever they go.
This video is fire. Wonder if there is possible to tie in Mycologists somehow? They can tamper with old data and even have IRL model at secret boss phase. Jeremiah has mushroom growing on him as well. Possible connection to the Hex?
Just a vague thought I had after watching: what if the devil's original goal with Inscryption was to somehow re-create the Karnoffel Code in some way? The thought process of "I can't get my hands on a deck of Karnoffel cards, so dammit, I'll make my own!" makes sense. If the theory of the devil creating Inscryption BEFORE gaining access to the Old_Data is true, surely he'd have some reason for making a CARD game of all things. When he was sent the floppy disks, he simply decided to steer his plan in a different direction now that he HAD the karnoffel code in the form of Old_Data. but hey, just a little theory that popped into my head :)
I find the idea of Satan running a game company to be funny. XD This is like a knockoff version of the Mandela catalog in terms of 'Satan' using Technology to cause chaos.
It seems like the code compounds in power the more it's remade so maybe that's why the devil made inscription. The code was originally just cards. Then it was written. Then it was turned into a game.
I only disagree with a couple things here. The first is that I don't think the Karnoffle Code holds any power. It was a cipher to unlock and control the doomsday device, and was stored on Inscryption with the OLD_DATA, but I don't think the order of the cards is powerful. I think the power all resides in the OLD_DATA itself. And I think the discovery of the OLD_DATA, or at least an archaic version of it, was the technology responsible for the creation of the doomsday weapon. The data itself holds power, regardless of the form it takes. The other thing is that I don't think Satan is the ultimate villain here. I think he's just one of the parties vying for the power of the OLD_DATA. It's been a while since I've delved into the Mullinsverse, so I don't remember if we know how the OLD_DATA was created, but I think it's older than Satan himself. It's always existed. A handful of entities know it exists and want to use it to their own ends, but I think the main idea is that it's older than time and curses everyone it reaches. So in a sense, the villain is the existence of the OLD_DATA, which isn't sentient but seems to grant sentience, among other things. This is all just my own theories as well, though. Overall, a great recap!
Pretty late to the party but I think the power only manifests in 1 place, since unless Lue Natas has bad memory he could just arrange the cards in the right order himself but because it was digitilized it's permenantly trapped in the floppy disk
Saying to at least watch a letsplay and then showing cr1tikals one is kinda funny lol, he barely payed any attention to it since he was playing like 2 games at the same time for some reason
My crack theory is that satan just really, *REALLY* wants to be a game developer and is SICK and TIRED of his buzzkill dad trying to get him into the evil business or otherwise meddling in his life. With how much Lucifer cares about making Pony Island a decent and balanced experience after a while, I really do believe that while his intentions aren't the most pure, he just loves making video games.
I wouldn't be too hard on Gamefuna employees for not figuring out that their boss is literally Satan. Like, finding out the game you're working on is actually a cover to hide a specific order of cards that can be used to make a doomsday machine and bring video game characters to life is one thing, but accusing your boss to be Satan himself just because of his name and interest in the old data is another thing. There's no one alive who knows about the events of Pony Island.
I like the idea that in the Mullinsverse, sometimes Satan just completely halts evil plans because he just fucking loves making video games, and this somehow works in his favor sometimes

What's not to be confused? That the fact The Devil is a conical character? The fact he is the CEO of a video game company? What's confusing about Nazis shuffling a deck of cards the devil made in just the right way to unlock an evil power
@@EnderrBoi Honestly sounds like something they might’ve tried
So what you’re telling me is- if I get a deck of Karnoffle cards, and start arranging them in every order possible, I can eventually have to power to, idk, blow up the world?
… 😏
That is exactly what I am telling you
it seems i have a new hobby
Not exactly sure how many cards there are to arrange, but get enough monkeys passing a joint back and forth...
I'd wager only cards arranged by Satan would have that effect, I think the cards might have been inscrybed by Satan's magic or evil
Good luck, their are more variants to a Karnöffel deck than their are atoms in the entire earth
i just realized the reason lucifer put together a company to make games is so that it wouldnt look suspicious for him to import a pack of karnoffel playing cards (that and im pretty sure he just genuinely likes making games)
The devil just wants to finish his game, being trapped forever really puts you in a new perspective on hard work lol
This is duel monsters all over again.
This was definitely the theory that I was thinking
@@Maka_Jhave you considered thst when po3 got file access he might have put part of him self into Luke's computer so he could finish the upload in a act of self preservation no matter what? Po3 died in inscryption but the stote was placed into the data of Luke's pc and saved the data enough to upload the game we play now
That Outer Wilds OST at random points really added to the sense of surprise
I'm glad someone called this out, such a delight
I'm so glad you noticed too. Ugh that game and it's ost send me through it
I would think Lucifer continued with the game just for the sake of consistency.

Gottem
This channel has a video on Pony Island taking about it
I think there's some hints that the crusades thing is an elaborate lie, this channel might talk about it in the horse island video

I feel like there’s a lot of charm in those goofy old stories
yeah, pony island in particular have that overly zatanick energy you can take seriously so becomes so how funny meanwhile is scary enough.
Didn't even know Inscyption and Pony Island were from the same developer. Makes sense as both are awesome.
I fear the day that Sado, Lou, and P03 have their head-to-head.
Another great video, just one nitpick --
in Pony Island, the person you play as is revealed to be someone who died during the Crusades who is playing the machine in purgatory. I dunno if that throws off the timeline at all, but it's worth considering
Edit: Now that I think about it, it probably doesn't throw anything off -- arcade machines existing at all implies that even if the soul died centuries earlier, the game itself would be in relatively modern times
wasn't there some evidence that suggested that this Crusade-thing was just a front Satan used? If I remember correctly, the historical characters don't line up with the dates of historical events, suggesting that Satan just made up a story from bits he found here and there
so either this was a mistake on Mullins' part, which would be surprising considering the amount of details the guy pays attention to, and the soul is truly a dead soldier from the Crusade; or the answer is something else entirely and this Crusade background was fake from the get-go.
I’m sorry, I know this is is about a really dark narrative but I wasn’t expecting Borat and I am still sitting here cackling.
WAIT I REALLY LIKE THIS
Counter-idea: What if he was shot by the same woman who shot Luke?
@@ZizZap4you mean Sado?
Maybe I'm focused too much on it but I've always found it interesting and purposeful that you see two cards in the pool of blood after Luke is shot. You can't see what they are but they are there. Given just before this two of the three scribes managed to perform a handshake before being deleted with Magni desperate but failing to do so... I wonder if those two cards might not hold Leshy and Grimora somehow.
would be awsome, over all because grimora being the scribe of the death could be inmune to fully left the existence
I love this man with a passion.
Oh shit! Hey man! Loved your acting on inscryption
"why did satan make games using his time" satan is an alpha gamer, duh.
"I will sin in my own way."
personally i feel like gamefuna receiving the disk before starting development would make more sense, if the game was finished then it would've been put onto the non corrupted disks and sold, therefore actually registering as a game being released, while it makes much more sense for kaycee to discover the secrets of the old data WHILE she was working on the game's development
still i love the idea of old data being made by the devil himself, otherwise it would barely make sense how it would be such horrifying information to put luke in a manic state and promptly forcing him to eject the disk and smash it with a hammer
I sometimes wonder if the being that calls itself Satan is actually the real deal, or just a minion of something greater using the name.
has anyone figured out if there's any meaning behind sado's redacted binary name in the inscryption video recordings being amanda? its probably the only thing in the game I managed to decode but haven't seen any explanation for
Because that's what she told Luke her name was.
PONY ISLAND 2 IS A REAL THING
I kindda want for Mullins to make Inscription 2 which would be Inscription Act 2 but in 3D and with areas made after Pony Island and worlds of The Hex existing between Lands of the Scribes. Story having a more-or-less random power balance at the begining of each playthrough would also be incredibly great to have. Having cards and mechanics that go deep and are useable wiyth eachother would be the next level.
congratulations you explain everything in a precise and detailed way and I think what you said in the video is right.
Thanks! It took a long time to make, so I’m glad it was worth it
I'd guess the reason why Satan continued work on Inscryption when he already had the Old Data is that he knew it'd look incredibly suspicious if he just suddenly halted game development when it was so close to completion for reasons he couldn't disclose to his employees
So excited to see this, always had so many questions about Mullins-Verse.
one question I ask myself is why the devil didn't use his power to start the age of chaos when he held the floppy disk.
You know when i first heard of pony island my first thought was "holy shit they made its candy mountain Charlie into a videogame" 🤦

I just beat the game and found this you killed it good job
Oh My Goooood!!!

And just a brilliant touch of it here
This is the best explanation of the mullinsverse that I've watched. Very entertaining an thorough. Congratulations!
I literally loved this video
hat i really like in both games is the recontextualization of the things you do, you free a trapped soul? its satan. you are just playing through another flashback? surprise, you're raiding gameworks. You are overthrowing evil dictator Leshy? He's actually the only reason the game was able to remain in this state, as grimora would delete the game, freeing the old data, po3 would upload the game to the internet, and magnificus is sus. It's like whenever things are getting too good you realize you just fucked up royally
Idk what's funnier, Satan being a passionate game dev or the Satanic Panic about video games being the influence of the devil was partially correct
The Satanic Panic predates video games and was about rolepaying, especially since the earliest D&D included summoning circles and was written so seriously.
It gained more prominence when the son of a religious nut committed suicide and she blamed roleplaying
i love how everything is connected, seems like a shit ton of work yet somehow he pulls it off
I’ve waiting this video a very long time and I satisfied
That's great to hear!
If the great transcendence has been fully completed, with P03 in control, does that mean the other scrybes are hidden in the game as well?
we need someone to remake Inscryption, but you actually start playing it the way it was intended from the start, in the end someone actually random this time gets hold of the old data, gets the game for themselves, and makes the game, liek about themself. You ofc can defeat them and continue the cycle, but the scribes remember what happened last time, and this time it would have more character interactions than before
Scribes would even get killed by another scribe if they did something goofy when they were in control
Like that’s a fun concept, but a ton of work
You can't just slip Outer Wilds music in there without someone noticing!!! I love it, I love that game so much
Probably nothing in terms of story, but it's always been strange to me that the IRL Inscryption card packs have 3D Leshy on the packaging.

"Known for their kindness and compassion" Lmao.
You put a lot of love into this video
OK. This is what I was looking for. I don't know much English, but this video is really cool!
What if (and this might just be wishful thinking) in the next few Daniel Mullins games we see a rise of a network of P03s spreading to and taking over every PC they can. Bringing bits of the old data and inscryption with them wherever they go.
3:33 cracked me up like crazy :D
When he was sent the floppy disks, he simply decided to steer his plan in a different direction now that he HAD the karnoffel code in the form of Old_Data. but hey, just a little theory that popped into my head :)
i'm really looking forward about Sado and PO3, they both escaped their games so maybe they will team up in the fourth game idk
I find the idea of Satan running a game company to be funny. XD
This is like a knockoff version of the Mandela catalog in terms of 'Satan' using Technology to cause chaos.
Beast mode
"it's PO-3 not Po3 (PoE)"
duly noted...... AND IGNORED
It seems like the code compounds in power the more it's remade so maybe that's why the devil made inscription. The code was originally just cards. Then it was written. Then it was turned into a game.
23:52 Sun station theme definitely surprised me here
I only disagree with a couple things here.
Those are both really good points!
Sado is a girl boss
gatekeep gatecrash girlboss bestie :3
Pretty late to the party but I think the power only manifests in 1 place, since unless Lue Natas has bad memory he could just arrange the cards in the right order himself but because it was digitilized it's permenantly trapped in the floppy disk
Remember that Golly also uploaded herself to the internet. So under p03s control, might have also resumed the upload
Fourth game might be released soon I dunno the leshy irl stream seems likely check the discord
Sado fr just fucks with people who have lost loved ones

14:36 small correction, west berlin wasnt far from soviet surveillance whatsoever, the entirety of berlin was within the borders of the ddr
