I just bought a 4000MAH lipo 3s battery. I still have a stock motor and setup I just changed the battery but it blinks green and red? It only steers, it doesn’t go forwards or backwards, any answer’s?
This ESC doesn't run with 3S battery. 3S is for all above, incl. brushless controllers. I picked up this noon my new 2S LiPo-s, those are the maximum for stock XL5 controller.
Yea thanks I figured that out a little bit afterwards. The stock esc will only let you use up to 8.4 volts, you can’t run a 11.1 volt on an 8.4 volt setup
When I put it on the first blink mode it goes full throttle for a bit, after a couple seconds it starts going slower and blinking red, do you know why it does that?

My brand new Traxxas (Bigfoot no.1) issonet react to eny thing tried this, and other thing and it not just cant do anything mine is just fast blinking red/green I was enable to get the 2 and the 3 bip, like in on traxxas site,but nothoing. Then I re binded with the controller, than guess what, the stereing work and still fast blinking the 2 color, so fast it is impossible to catch one. Also with nimh battery no matter what 5-6 minutes and after 3 minuts it alrready lost the power. My battery in the controller is new, also I always use storager mode. Ohh and one more thing, the Traxxas batter what was in the box, give me 4-5 solid meters and off. I guess the esc is just bad, doesn't work and also this one probably sitting years on the self and the battery and the esc is off now. I'm so mad bc is I send it back either I get a same old one or they say it is okay...I would tell them to try it with lipo and nimhon the pad it is okay just see if it works and how long the battery going. Mad af :(
If the Low-Voltage Detection (LVD) is "ON" when a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery is used an ESC may show the over-voltage alarm, indicated by a flashing red and green light. ... If you have a Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery, connect it to the ESC and turn it on.
I bought a 3s lipo gold bar battery and tried doing the same with my rustler and it wont work can some one help me, it stays flashing red and when hold to turn to lipo mode I'm only allowed to use my steering servo and no motors??
Having the same issue and can't find anything on it. Bought a 2s and switched to lipo mode but when I hit the throttle the green light turns off until I go back to neutral. Only have steering 😣
Sounds like you and kyle below may have to reset the transmitter... It sounds like its out of callibration to fix.... First turnoff the ESC then turnon radio first then hold down ESC button till the light turns red then flashes red once then letgo of the esc button instantly....... Then on the transmitter pull the trigger to full throttle then wait for the ESC light to flash red twice, Then do the same procedure to set your reverse then letgo of the throttle so its in neutral then test both throttle and reverse again it should correct it..... Cheers

Dude thank you so much! I had my LiPo on NIMH and then I when I got it on LiPo mode I had it on the kid mode. You are a life saver.

What does it mean if it’s blinking?
I found that mine were shot over heated at one time and burnt it. Immediately goes to shut down.

Ok so today I drove my rustler in the water I was so glad it it waterproof and a vxl 4+4
I just tryed this and I try to set it back to my nimh and it won’t work help plz

that means you are using a nimh on lipo mode or ur using a lipo on nimh mode
Can you do this with 3s safely or will it overheat ?
3s will overheated the car if you want to run 3s on xl5 you need to buy the trx4 sport 3s xl5 esc

Difference btwn 1:07 and 2:38?! You hold button the same... but at 1:07 it changes esc modes, and at 2:38 change battery mode??
for esc modes u hold the button when its off for lipo u tern it on then hold the button
