      In no order: 1) VOO 2) QQQM 3) SCHG/VUG 4) VTI 5) SCHD/DGRO. Personally I put down 1.2m$ on few ETFs, still diversifying. it was this time last year I made my first break through with a liquid 370k. Handed it to a trader here in TX, I get weekly pay out which I put back on long term ETF's. Tesla will be a huge buy for me when the market bottoms.

Right now, I focus on growth, but I plan to switch to dividend-paying value stocks/ETFs eventually. The first day SCHD is positive in your IRA, sell it and focus on growth stocks. SCHD is a great retirement fund once you have a lot of cash. It's what an annuity should be. Pay you consistently yet doesn't F you in so many ways like the annuity... 50 SCHD, 25 JEPI (less year over year growth but pays out much more to increase your income), 25% rock solid single companies paying consistently monthly or quarterly. Earns you income, and you don't touch much or any of your million. Dividends don't get you to the finish line fast enough, they ARE the finish line.

    Thanks! Hi Marco. I decided to to create a 4 ETF portfolio for growth and dividends. The portfolio will have SCHG JEPQ (Higher dividend than SCHD/uses call options) COIN & SMH @ 25% each. I used the portfolio analyzer you provided me over a 18 month period. The potential returns are killer. What are your thoughts?

    • @Marcos_Milla
      @Marcos_Milla  3 месяца назад +2

      Wow thank you again William! it’s much much appreciated :) Coin is Coinbase to my knowledge which is an individual stock so you’re looking at a 3 etf portfolio with an individual stock (to my knowledge). Depending on your time horizon, my opinion is that the portfolio is going to be inherently more volatile and have a high beta given you have a good chunk to growth and semiconductors as well as potentially a crypto stock like Coinbase. I would personally not have an exposure larger than 5% to crypto (just my opinion and a benchmark that others will agree with in the investing community). JEPQ is great for dividends and some capital gains, however if you do NOT need the dividends now or in next few years then I would rather put my money in a dividend growth etf like dgro, schd, divb, or fdvv instead of JEPQ. JEPQ is also taxed at a higher rate given the option income. JEPQ is more for individuals who want dividend income asap and want to live off the dividend than if you have a long time horizon. SMH at 25% can pan out in your favor if semiconductors continue to rally for decades to come which I think they will pose growth but I cannot guess the exact gains. SMH at 25% WILL be volatile in a recession or a bear market so please keep that in mind if you are willing to stomach the volatility. I’m a huge fan of having a broad market etf like VOO or SPLG, VTI or VT since the market is just so strong as an index, it has dividend growth, high quality companies, and diversification. That’s my 2 cents. Feel free to comment but sometimes I cannot see the next comments unless you make a new one or you can always message me on blossom (linked in the description and pinned comment) where people basically message me directly for any questions and I have my Portfolio up there for people to see. Hope this helps!

    SCHD is great as a single fund if you want solid income growth. But if you're going to complement it with another ETF, fund overlap is only one factor. Another is market correlation. SCHD is already highly correlated with the market. You want something to offset SCHD's trends. When the second fund is high, you can sell it and buy the first while it's low. For this it's best to eschew SCHD altogether and let your growth fund be the one to correlate. I think XLU would be better than SCHD. Yields and growth are lower, but the growth would come from elsewhere, feeding into more shares of XLU, thereby increasing income even more over time. It's hard to beat a SCHD/SCHG combo, but XLU/XLK does.

    Dividends from SCHD are typically taxed at the qualified dividend rate, which may be lower than ordinary income tax rates for many investors. However, the main focus for markets now is Nvidia, which has powered a large chunk of the S&P 500’s recent earnings. Nvidia’s stock, up more than 90% this year, sending the Nasdaq 100 index to another record high. Well I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $350K portfolio, to boost performance. • @Marcos_Milla

      Hmm. I would not add SPHD if you honestly want to make more returns in the long run. SPHD is more for people with lower risk tolerances and have a shorter time horizon in my opinion given the low volatility aspect of it. I would just add in dgro or keep cgdv. I would choose with dgro or cgdv.
      My opinion (not financial advice)
      I would have it for me personally from highest holding to lowest as SPLG, DGRO, SCHD or SPLG, CGDV, SCHD. Just my opinion :)

      I would say 1 more is perfect, any more than 2 is like overkill in my opinion. It’s really hard to pinpoint a clear number one but I own dgro and I like it a lot since it’s in the name as a dividend growth etf. But ones I like in no order are 1) dgro 2) fdvv 3) divb given you already own schd, schg, and Schb. Even your 3 etf of those 3 is super super strong and solid as a buy and hold forever Portfolio in my opinion, well done!

There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. My friend just pulled in more than $84k last month alone from his investment with his advisor. That is how people are able to make such huge profits in the market.

      Oh wow, that’s really really impressive. Probably the most schd I’ve seen which is awesome! I would say either a broad market (S&P 500 or total market etf) or if you do not believe schd will outperform other dividend ETFs that incorporate tech like dgro, VIG, fdvv, etc. then maybe another dividend growth etf. But if I was in your shoes, I would say (not financial advice) a broad market etf since it has dividend growth even though it’s not a dividend etf, 1.3% yield is still quite the pony, and the returns have outperformed a ton of other ETFs given that the market or S&P 500 is super hard to beat given you’re basically investing in everything and since schd lacks technology which is the majority chunk of a broad market etf, maybe this one is a good choice. Can’t go wrong either with keeping schd as value rotation has been in favor the past few months

      I believe you can (don’t quote me) through their Schwab stock slices. However, if you aren’t able to do this. Another great comparable to VOO that on my channel I made a video about titled “selling my VOO for SPLG” I made a breakdown about how SPLG is a great alternative if you want a cheaper share price and it has a lower expense ratio. SPLG is also an S&P 500 etf but it has a way lower share price than VOO to make it easier for whole share brokerage investor to buy. If you are keened on buying a Charles Schwab product, SWPPX is also a great alternative to an etf in the form of a mutual fund that you can take a look at. Hope this helps!

    • @Marcos_Milla
      @Marcos_Milla  3 месяца назад +1

      I like VGS a lot if you’re in Australia given it provides exposure to the global equity markets. I like VGS a ton more than VAS (my opinion though). VGS is like an S&P 500 alternative (not perfect apples to apples) since it has nearly 80% of the fund to North America and then a slot to Europe and Pacific companies. So it’s more like a total world index fund with a slight weight to us companies. You can benefit from a growth etf (not financial advice) if you really want an etf slotted to more technology or growth stocks. S&P 500 etf and VGS would be a little overkill in my opinion. Schd can be included if you want dividend growth (know that in the long run it might underperform VGS) but you will accumulate way more dividends from Schd and the dividends compound and grow every year from schd being able to grow its dividend. I would have a higher holding to VGS as the backbone of my portfolio for sure with any etf portfolio I go with, just my opinion.

    What percentages would you recommend investing in each ETF for someone in their late 40s?

    • @Marcos_Milla
      @Marcos_Milla  3 месяца назад +1

      Ahh this is the million dollar question. I would say the percentages should really be tailored to one’s risk tolerance and goals.
      For example, if you’re more of a dividend investor then of course you should a higher portion or majority to dividend ETFs or stocks. And vice versa if you are more of a growth or broad market investor.
      In regards to exact percentages, my own take (not financial advice) for schd with an S&P 500/total market etf should be more to the S&P 500/total market if you have a higher risk tolerance but if you have a lower risk tolerance then schd.
      With the growth etf, same goes for this one where if you have a high risk tolerance than more should go towards the growth etf than schd but given some people in their 40s, some might pick schd but it depends on their preference. With schd to the dividend etf category, I see a 50/50 being popular or if a technology incorporated dividend etf is included then most go like 40 to schd and 60 to something like VIG or dgro or fdvv. With the covered call etf and schd, if you want dividend income asap and now then most put it to the covered call etf and less to schd but my hot take is it should be more towards schd.
