    Im not real familiar with drag racing tech rules but i was under the impression that msost all liquid filled lines and hoses have to be outside the drivers compartment. Im not saying its not right or wrong because I DONT know it is a cool idea.

      ….or firewalled. Worst case scenario is I’ll have to cut and brake a piece of sheet metal and bolt or weld it inside the glove box to satisfy the firewall rule. I actually made sure to space the surge tank far enough back to allow me to do that if necessary and that’s something Brad or Ray either one could fab up for me in no time. The surgetank itself should be legal because of the thickness of the aluminum it’s made from so the only thing that would possibly be an issue is if the tech guy working that day wants to consider my PTFE lines to be “rubber lines inside the passenger compartment”. But 90% of the F bodies I see at the track have the whole damn fuel cell mounted in the back hatch area and it’s easy enough to firewall it if I need to so I’m really not too worried about it.

      This IS a great question and something I thought about myself when putting all this together so I’m actually gonna pin your comment to the top because I KNOW this is gonna be asked 100 times. 😉

      @@BadLuckGarage Like I said I just thought that any liquid or hot lines or hoses needed to be external of the drivers compartment. I was just asking since I've never actually raced at a track yet, but from what I've learned from being there and watching others.

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  3 года назад

      @@KarKamp Well like I said, it was a good question and as far as I know the rules state you can’t have any “rubber” fuel lines in the passenger compartment(which I technically don’t) and if you do they have to be separated by a firewall of certain thickness depending in whether you use aluminum or steel to make that firewall. 👍

      @BadLuckGarage  3 года назад

      @@KarKamp Just looked it up and here’s the rules straight from the NHRA book.
      “All batteries, fuel lines, fuel pumps or filler necks located inside trunk require complete bulkhead of at least .024-inch (.6 mm) steel or .032 (.8 mm) aluminium to isolate driver compartment from trunk.” So it looks like we’ll be building a steel or aluminum plate to seal that area off behind the interior panel to make it nice and legal. Once it’s sealed off from the rest of the hatch area it should pass tech……if I ever goto a track that actually techs. 🤣👍

    Question. What fitting is the coming off the aeromotive pull up pump?

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  Год назад

      The Aeromotive drop in sending unit comes with -6 feed and return.

      Correct. What I am asking is the type of 6orb fitting that is. I noticed it has a barb in between the 6 orb to 6 an?

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  Год назад

      @@chevyboy6852 It does not use orb fittings. I believe they are 1/4”NPT which has an inside diameter equivalent to 3/8” or -6 fuel line. So the feed and return are 1/4npt to -6AN and the vent is 1/4npt to 3/8 barb.

    That surge tank wouldn’t pass NHRA tech at my truck unless you plan to put in the far wall between you and the surge tank

    " Why do you need a 1500 hp fuel system when you dont plan on making 1500hp?" The answer is - Because I can and its fucking cool!!!!....I dont need a 20 inch wanker between my legs, prolly wouldnt ever use it all but Id damn sure have fun trying lol....
