    I apologize as I forgot to mention the weight in the video. Total weight for compressor, tank, Mac valves, and regulator was right over 17lbs. Also if you missed the video of us testing this setup at the track, you can find it here.

      That was the biggest thing for me was being able to get it out of the way like it wasn’t even there. I forgot to say it in the video but the entire tank and compressor setup only weighed 17lbs as well. So not as light as a CO2 tank, but not super heavy either.

    • @BadLuckGarage

      Just to be fair, from what I’ve read you shouldn’t have to fill the CO2 bottle that often unless it’s a street car and you have the boost control on everytime you drive it. If it’s a track only car, you have your boost control dialed in correctly, and you don’t have any leaks, a 5lb bottle should last you quite a while. But for an actual street car that you like to drive and play in a lot I 100% recommend onboard air over CO2.

    Really good video, it's funny I was debating the same options. I can't justify Viair but also didn't want to go straight cheapest possible. Thanks for addressing some of my direct questions from the last video. In a day where youtube is getting less and less useful it is nice to see some people out there still sharing knowledge instead of begging for help or just acting like idiots. I'm in for another video of how you set up the Holley and your control strategy.

    • @BadLuckGarage

      This setup uses an external compressor. Vixen also offers setups with compressors built into the tanks if that’s what you’re asking.

    I ordered a 98mm gt45 turbo and I have a 1.8l motor I’m thinking of doing a similar setup. I don’t want to run nitrous because I don’t want to always fill up the car. would I be possible for the car to reach full boost at 4500 rpm’s ? Is that too unrealistic. I’m thinking of starting to spray a lot of air at 2000 rpm’s and then hopfully it can be spooled up all the way a 4k rpm’s (20psi)

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  7 месяцев назад

      That’s not how this works

    • @rickyboostedhonda27
      @rickyboostedhonda27 7 месяцев назад

      @@BadLuckGarage then what does it do ? or is there a way you can put a nozzle into the turbo similar to nitrous to make it spool up ? I’m just pretty much asking and curious to see if there is a way a 98mm work with a 1.8l motor, without using nitrous or co2 and always having to fill up bottles

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  7 месяцев назад

      What it does is explained in the video. And no you can’t use compressed air or CO2 to help spool the turbos. That’s a nitrous only deal. Not trying to be an ass brother but it seems you need to do some research and understand exactly what’s going on and exactly why some people use nitrous to spool larger turbos. I’d also reconsider using that GT45 on that little 1.8liter. What exactly is your goal HP wise? Because I thinks you’d probably be a lot happier with something like a gt3582 or maybe even something even smaller.
